I have a serious forum-y question.

I've been going a bit mad with the sig making recently and I'm pretty sure I'm missing some nice images in peoples spoiler tags.

The sig request thread has been lost for a while - the last post was over a month ago. I was thinking of creating a nice 'Show off your sig/digital art/new sig request thread in the fan art section?

Does anyone think this would be a nice idea? I'd like to see and comment on other peoples sigs in a dedicated creative thread. (I know theres the 'Rate av/sig' thread, but this would be more constructive? I thought I'd throw the idea out there for the fan art section before just randomly creating it?

I hope I'm making sense? :D

I do believe the reason we removed them in the first place was because the GD section of the forums was getting overloaded with stickies, and they were inactive. But since the fan art/fic section has...Rather less stickies, I'd say go for it, personally I've got no issues with it, hell, I'll stick it for you myself.

If you could be the leader of a country which would you choose and what kind of policies would you have?

My own, the good old UK.
I'd pour all of our money into research and development for our military, create airship and sky fortress technology and retake the BRITISH EMPIRE BABY!

^ Thanks Credo :) I'll go and get it sorted....I've forgotten what i said I wanted to do now *goes to read her post*

Also I'd be very happy to have Credo leading the UK, he'd do a better job than the current Government.

Actually Credo - what happened with uni? Was it this year you were hoping to go? I forgot to ask - remember when we bitching about the Conservatives ages ago?

@ Staff - What would you think of the idea of being able to send the same message to several people's profile pages, similar to how you can PM several people the same message at once? =/

And what do you think of the idea of being able to like a person's post? For instance, rating how good/helpful you found it from 0-100%. Or by just clicking 'like', if you think the post was interesting/worthwhile to read/handy and helpful.

Just some ideas I had in mind ^_^

This place is gonna turn into Facebook! XD

If you had to live on only one kind of food, what would it be?

Interesing idea but thats down to forum restrictions and dont think there is a feature in vB that allows you to send multiple VM's the same way you can send multiple PM's.

There is a like system on the new forum software we are using elsewhere but it currently doesnt work on the Beta and we are waiting for an update to see if this remedies it. You can get a plug-in to add a like system to vB though i believe but when you have a rep system it seems like adding 2 of the same system.

Forums used the 'Like' 'Thanks' system LONG before Facebook was even an idea. Seems to have gone full circle though because those systems changed to Rep systems but some forums used plug-ins to keep them. Now the newest forum software Xenforo (created by original developers of vB) uses a 'Like' system as standard and also gives you an Alerts Tab.

Id live on Pizza.

Ah, very interesting. Thank you for taking your time to mull over my ideas. So Facebook essentially harboured that idea from existing Websites etc? I did not know that

I suppose with Rep already existing, I can see what you mean. However, I find a drawback for Reputation, is that it can't actually be earned. Because you could Rep anyone as you so wish.

Another idea I had was this. You know if you find something offensive, you can report it? Well of course you do. Anyway, my idea is like so. If you like what someone said in a post, and you think it's helpful or whatever, you explain why you think/feel that way. Like, you could have a little button you click and then write your reasons. And then if Staff find that it's a worthy enough reason for liking it, they approve it. It wouldn't matter on how long it took to approve, because it's not a big thing. But in the end, those comments are bound to get approved/disapproved or whatever, and then it will say whether the post was positive or negative.

Just some ideas ^_^

You can leave comments when you rep someone with a reason behind it. People who rep others for no reason are just abusing the system.

Ah yes, I completely agree with your statement Andy :) Hate to sound so negative and whiny towards the Rep System >_< But if I Rep a post, and it's towards someone who has just joined; it usually gets all of their red and blue dots to maximum all at once. And that's just from me having Repped them once.

Why does it do that? And is there any way I can Rep someone without it doing that? =/

I will take a look, its likely that the rep system is slightly bugged because of peoples rep powers. Just needs tweaking a little thats all.
