Well Nintendo or some guy from Nintendo played a huge part in why Other M sucked.

I mean I can say after playing.

Platinum isn't fit enough to make a DMC game.

You...'re putting MGR and Anarchy Reigns... on the same level as Other M.

Yeah okay whatever. You totally know what you're talking about.

Platinum, in my opinion, are great for doing their own style of games.
Like Bayonetta, Vanquish, MGSR, etc.
Making a DMC game in general is a lot of stress, even for companies like Platinum. To me, they shouldn't make DMC games or attempt to, but should keep doing their own IPs (besides MGSR), their own...style, instead of handling the stress and confinement of making this certain game play like it's predecessor.
Anyone understand what I'm saying?

I actually totally agree with this, even though i say P* would be the best, out of the list supplied anyway, to make a DmC/DMC game, i'd much rather they didn't.

True, but I'm sure they could probably...well...I don't know, razor edge looked good from what I've seen. (Haven't played it yet)
Well razor edge is pretty much saying sorry to Ninja Gaiden fanbase. I just hope they have learned their reason and next game in series wont be such disaster as 3.

I never said those games were bad or as bad Other M (just used them as examples of a high quality company pushing out titles that aren't as good as their previous works).

I used them as examples of a company's short comings.

They messed up on one game and all of a sudden they can't make a good enough DMC game.

I mean Itsuno's team made DMC2 and by that logic they should never touch DMC again but bam they made DMC3.

See my point?

But it takes a whole crew to work a kitchen.

But Aliens had only one developer and Duke Nukem had development issues since its announcement.

Project X Zone was a good co- developed game and so was Shadow of the Damned (a collaboration between two designers rather than developers).

Actually Aliens had 3 dev teams Gearbox, TimeGate Studios, and Nerve Software.

Duke Nukem still had like 4 developer studios and those development issues were due to its development being cycled around these various development studios.

When you factor in many other developer studios or multiple development studios variables such as scheduling, locations, time(zones), and skills among each development studios as well as priorities among the development studio it can create a tangent in the game's dev cycle.

Project X Zone fit the variables since both Monolith and Banpresto were located in Tokyo, Japan so they could easily work out a schedule to work on the game, no issues with timezones or locations and Banpresto was basically a subsidiary of Namco Bandai so they mainly overlooked the project as the creative foot from Bandai's side while Monolith lend their assistance. It was like a better and more even dev relation of Capcom and NT when they made DmC only difference was that Monolith's skills in the RPG genre (contrary to NT's skills to the HnS genre) proved more beneficial to Banpresto.

If anything a game is more likely to be successful if the 2 or 3 dev studios are located close to each other and same similar or congruent priorities when it comes to game design.

Imagine what would have happened if Sega, Capcom AND Namco all tried to dig their claws into development of PxZ, it would NOT have been a good idea. Banpresto on the other hand make these kind of games ALL the time so it only makes sense that they handled it.

Now i'm not saying i'd want to see them do it but i'm interested to see how some other studios would handle development of a DMC or a similar styled game. Retro Studios is a developer that comes to me off the top of my head, again i don't want to see them do it but i'd be interested to see how they'd go about doing it.

Of course, of course, I'm not so naive to think that having more than one developer wouldn't have its issues. However, when it comes together, it all turns out pretty well. It's pretty much a matter of the right teams coming together with a good schedule.

I think that, in this case, DmC could benefit from having a second developer or designer work on it.

Team Ninja did a badass job making Metroid an acrobatic shooter again.

It was the shoddy writing done by Metroid's creator that gave it the somewhat iffy credibility.

I don't agree with that, not the shoddy writing part though. That's still god awful. Other M was also a pretty ****ty game from a gameplay perspective but if you enjoyed it then power to you.

I liked it for what it was, and for accentuating the acrobatics again. Really should have been a Remote+Nunchuck affair, though...

I pretend Other M doesn't exist. I love Metroid and I am a total Samus Aran fanboy so you see why I was disappointed in what happened. That being said Other M has the foundation gameplay wise that could be great for a Mega Man game. It wasn't all bad in that regard. Still *lights Other M on fire and throws it out the window*

Goddamn. Thumbs up for having the courage to say that 'round these parts... :O

There. See? Anyone can find at least one positive thing about something they hate.

So would I. :troll:

Yes. Yes, he does, actually.

While we're on the subject of things we hate.
I love FFVII Dirge of Cerberus
