  • You want Yakuza 6? Pre-order Yakuza 0 while there's still physical copies. Show SEGA you want this series to continue coming westward.
So, apparently Reuben Langdon used Roy from Macross as the inspiration for DMC4 Dante's mannerisms. Makes sense now that I've seen the show.

There's a character named Commander Global, and a "smart" character named Maximilian Jenius...so yeah, Macross shamelessly wears its 80's era on its sleeve, but that's part of why I love it so much.

Now I know how they came up with Meet the Parents' protagonist's name.

    They were clearly Macross fans.
Thirteen episodes into Macross; Minmay's song is all kinds of adorable. Fun fact, it's also referenced in the Drifters manga.
If Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn forces me to cart-wheel through ONE MORE "Rout Enemy" battle, I swear I'll snap the disc in half.

Funny enough, that would explain why copies of the Radiant games cost an arm and a leg now-a-days.

That's more because both games sold like a wet fart here in the states, so copies are kind of scarce. By sheer luck, I managed to nab Path of Radiance at a garage sale for $50.
Being starved of good anime, I decided to revisit the original Macross. The charming, funny, and epic moments are indescribable.

Macross and Gundam are both good on their own merits IMO. If you're looking for mech combat, watch Gundam. If you're looking for neat characters, watch Macross.

@DreadnoughtDT Couldn't have put it better. Macross thrives on being a sweeping space opera, with an emphasis on flying and starship combat. Gundam is more visceral and action-oriented, which is why I'll be checking out 0080 & 0083 after I'm done with my Macross binge.

Ahhh Stardust Memories... That's a good one. Though, I do like Gundam 00 overall.
Holy hell, getting the Zero Factory Achievement in Deus Ex: Human Revolution might be one of the hardest things I've ever done as a gamer.

August 29th: This is the day, in fiction, that SkyNet supposedly becomes self-aware. What better day for a Terminator Marathon.
Binary Domain is my favorite Gears of War game.

Binary Domain is a game that a lot of people seem to like even though it looks average on the surface. Is there anything the game does particularly well?

The game was made by the designer behind the ever-godly Yakuza series, and pours just as much personality in the characters here as he does in that series. On first glance, it's a mindless, nonsensical shooter like Vanquish, but on closer inspection, it has little things like a comrade-bonding system that changes how dialogue and in-game cutscenes play out. There's a demo on Steam if you're curious.

Played the demo on the 360, combat was a bit eh. Glad to hear the characters are there though, I may buy it if I find it for a good price.
The explanation for the personality switch from Ocelot to LIQUID Ocelot is still one of the most bafflingly-stupid things I've ever beheld.

@Chancey289 See, I wish more Metal Gear fans would be more like you and my Kojimite friend, who both can freely admit the flaws in this series. Trying to voice these absurdities around other Metal Gear fans is like diving headfirst into a South American fire anthill.

@WolfOD64 You might wanna reconsider just how much of a friend that person is if they always try to do what bothers you. Or try talking to them. Or do other things besides gaming with them. Just don't nag about a series, more or less copying your friend's behavior in opposite way, when it's clear that the problem lies with a certain fan of it.

@Viper Nah, it's nowhere near as problematic as it sounds. It's just the way the two of us mess with each other. He likes Metal Gear, I like Star Fox...we've set up easy targets for each other for continuous mocking.
You know, I didn't think there was a way to make me like the Killing Joke even less than I already do, but man...WB Animation found a way.
Hey man, have you been keeping up with Hell on Wheels? The series finale is next week. While I kinda wish it would continue, I guess I can't complain because all 5 seasons so far have been pretty good in my opinion. So I at least think it's going out on a high note.

Prepare to hate him even more then because he causes utter hell for people as the series goes on. Stuff that will always be with these characters.
Happy Birthday to Kentaro Miura. You will never cease to be the greatest thing to ever happen to manga...we owe you our passion and wonder.

I don't really care about what ended up ensuing...my only disappointment was that I got banned right as Veloran started contributing actual discussion. I guess it's OK when I get lambasted for my opinions on DMC3, but when I try to put up any kind of defense, I'm banned.

I almost feel like the Staff just glanced at my column of words without even reading it, and just assumed I was making trouble. It's very disheartening...I expected better handling of the situation.
The new Independence Day is like a time capsule of everything dated, cheesy, and terrible about the 90's...yet a surprisingly fun watch.

I actually prefer this one over the original, but I'll be the first to admit that I didn't like the original one in the slightest. It's all down to personal preference...I'd wait for it to come to DVD to watch it and decide for yourself.

so it's good? like chancey said i've been hearing so many bad reviews, but two of my friends that have watched it enjoyed it.. and i also heard the universe is kinda expanded with the ending

Just wait till it comes out on DVD an make your own conclusion.
So apparently Bleach is ending. As someone who regards it w/ some nostalgia, I say without hesitation that it should've ended YEARS ago.

People speculated it would be Orihime that helps him after awakening her true power, given that it was described as opposing god or something like that, but so far she just protected Mr.Hothead and repaired the sword. Well, there is always chance of Tsubaki making a return.

Orihime's powers to "reject god" only work when the plot says they can work. But I'm curious, what did you think of how the sword was repaired?

It was a cheap way out, but nothing else would work in that corner Kubo wrote himself into. Tsukishima and Fullbringers had been expected sooner, but in the end they too were victim of too much hype, but poor delivery. I know Ichigo as the MC is supposed to shine, but do all the others really have to become nothing more than superpowered babysitters?

People doubt me when I say Kojima makes cinematics before he makes games, then he LITERALLY admits he hasn't picked an engine for his game.
