  • I couldn't tell you how excited I was when that X-Wing VR game was unveiled...riiight up until "EA" and "Battlefront" appeared at the end.

“Most of your tools in action games are sticks,” Kojima continues. “You punch or you shoot or you kick. The communication is always through these ‘sticks.’ In [Death Stranding], I want people to be connected not through sticks, but through what would be the equivalent of ropes… But of course you will be able to use the sticks too.”

Hipster Glasses trying to buck a trend while unconsciously stumbling into ten others. In what way is this supposed to be any kind of surprise?
Oh, what's that? Skyrim's getting remastered? Sorry, can't hear you over the BERSERK MUSOU GAME that's been announced for PS4.

Part of the reason I avoid anime like herpes is because most of it is romance or cutsey slice-of-life BS...the kind of thing I literally cannot stand. If I can't stomach that kind of thing in Western entertainment through soap operas and sitcoms, there's no chance in hell I could ever watch it in animated form.

I agree; however, I will admit that Suzuka handles its supposed romance well (for the most part).

But anyway, as I've said before, watch what you're into, and not necessarily what other people recommend.

Hajime no Ippo and Baki the Grappler are both romance-free, luckily...
New Berserk Chapter this month. New Berserk Anime next month. The original author involved in both. Life's just really good to me right now.
Oh, look. More misinformed Western gamers trashing the release of a Pachinko game. We must look so classy to the Japanese, don't we?

No one has to like it. It just doesn't make sense to lambast ONE company for doing it, when literally EVERY video game corporate conglomerate in Japan is doing it too.

But I *have* been lambasting all the companies for doing it -- ever since Sega decided to partner up with Sammy and just release half-baked Sonic titles instead of more Jet Grind Radio.

@Rogers Personally, when it comes to SEGA, all I really care about is their consistency to localize the Yakuza games. Aside from Binary Domain, those are the only games from them I legitimately care about.
Jesus Christ, there was more blood in that Wolverine cameo than any his entire presence in the X-Men film series combined.

@WolfOD64 Btw, Bryan Singer is not the one you should beg. Wolverine 3 won't be directed by Singer, but by James Mangold, like The Wolverine. I dunno why everybody seems to think Singer does and always will do EVERYTHING XMen. He only did 4 out of 8.

He's been the creative force for the X-Men films for a while. It's understandable why people would associate him with the films.
    Foxtrot94
    Foxtrot94
In my eyes, no it's not. It doesn't take take a lot to google the films and see who actually directed them. Otherwise you give him credit (or discredit, it depends) for something he didn't do. Especially when that something equates to half of the franchise on the big screen.
Dylan Cuthbert came out an confirmed Fox and the crew actually DON'T have metal legs, just boots. SUCK IT, Game Theory.

    WolfOD64
Well...that's just Death Battle. The people that think Fire Fox is caused by G-Diffusers...you know, the engines used by the ARWINGS, despite there being no canon explanation in either Smash Bros. OR Star Fox.
How's it that exotic new ships, more interesting lore, & intriguing characters are stemming from a Star Wars Spin-Off Film instead of Ep. 7?

With the force awakens, it was a conservative take as Abrams thought bringing the feel of wonder the originals had was the best way to go.

Fans and creators are conservative in different aspects. That doesn't mean finn, Rey and Poe can't tell new stories that Luke, Han and Leia can't have. Just right now the next Gen golden trio are still just the next Gen golden trio
    WolfOD64
    WolfOD64
@ZZ18 I wasn't even aware Poe was part of the trio given the fifteen minutes of total screentime he has. As for Abrams trying to stick close to the originals, well...he pretty much made the film into A Not-So-New Hope, so mission accomplished, for better or for worse.
To the founder of my childhood, I salute you and wish you a happy birthday. Godspeed, George Lucas, & may the Force be with you.
To a 90's kid, it's borderline scary how many voice actors from the Arthur cartoon play central characters in Deus Ex: Human Revolution.
"Next Battlefront will have less planets from the "historical" movies, only ones seen in Ep. 8 onwards." Congrats on missing the point, EA.

The only thing that matters to them is whether or not the game will sell.

I've got a feeling it will, no matter how many mistakes they (purposely) make...

WHAT? HUH? You want Clone Wars?! Sorry, I can't hear you over my PILE OF MONEY
    WolfOD64
    WolfOD64
@DreadnoughtDT Because NOTHING good came out of the prequels at all. Not new intriguing characters, not jaw-dropping worlds or battles, not the single greatest Star Wars TV Series ever made...nope, nope, nope. Prequels? Don't exist. OG Trilogy and onward only, lads! This won't get stale quickly, we promise!
One thing that will never change as I get older is my devout passion for everything Star Wars. May the 4th be with you...always.
Remember, kids: Major Kusanagi's best portrayal was at the hands of Mary E. McGlynn---a WHITE woman. The difference? She's ACTUALLY talented

A bit late to the discussion but race is still brought up even among Voice Actors. Naughty Dog got flak for hiring Laura Bailey to play a South African. ND says they stand by the decision and even have a black actor playing a white man as well.

I don't hear anyone whining about Troy Baker playing a Japanese ninja in Ninja Gaiden 3. Know why? It's nkot popular enough. These people only whine on thing mainstream and popular enough to become the latest trend. No females in Assassin's Creed Unity? Whine all night. No Persian VA's in a Prince of Persia game? Not a voice in opposition. Hypocrites, the bunch of them.

I see that on Tumblr so much and it annoys the crap out of me constantly. EVERYTHING is an offense to them, and EVERYTHING is an enemy. Sometimes they try so hard to be the perfect SJW that they forget how to just be kind and admit they don't know everything.
I heard Star Fox Zero was met with criticism on the dual gameplay mechanics. What's your opinion on them?
    WolfOD64
    WolfOD64
The way that the game is designed is that the enemies, levels, and bosses are never more challenging than they should be. All of their moves are telegraphed to become extremely easy to anticipate, making it so that the only thing to put absolute focus on is successfully maneuvering your Arwing.
    WolfOD64
    WolfOD64
Take it from someone who hates motion controls so much that I didn't even FINISH Skyward Sword: the motion controls in Zero are fine. They never impede the gameplay enough to make you less accurate or the levels less bearable, & the only people having a tough time with them are the weapons-grade casuals that couldn't possibly trouble themselves with ANYTHING that doesn't control like an FPS or open-world game.

Btw, I almost busted a rib laughing when I read Jim Sterling's review. 2/10? REALLY? That's the kind of game you give to a game that barely functions on a basic level, like Shaq Fu or Superman 64. Or maybe it's just not as easy as pressing X continuously in Dynasty Warriors, the game Sterling fellates to an egregious level.
Fun Fact: Tatsuya Yoshikawa, the character designer for DMC4 and the Breath of Fire series did the character design for Star Fox Zero.

    ...Really?

I know I'm being a jerk for saying this, but that only gives me another reason to dislike p-games (and by extension, DMC4).

To be fair, it IS an interesting bit of trivia, though.

Not a problem, it's your opinion. It's just one more reason for ME to love the game even more (and DMC4).

Speaking of opinions, I would like to hear yours regarding my rpg rogue board game... go ahead and trash it if that's how you feel, but I really would just like some feedback.
So, after 8 hours with the game, I can safely confirm that the negative reviews for SF Zero are full of it. The game is even better than 64.
"WAAAH! The controls in Star Fox Zero require TOO MUCH OF A LEARNING CURVE!" Take the time to learn the game before whining, you casuals.

I love how the very same thing that people praise Dark Souls for is what they're bashing SFZ for.
    WolfOD64
    WolfOD64
Dark Souls isn't hard. It has technical limitations in the player's maneuverability to sell the illusion of difficulty. Games like Ninja Gaiden Black, F-Zero GX, and Fire Emblem are all technically competent games where the only challenge comes from the AI or intensity of gameplay. Star Fox has resonated that gameplay style for years, albeit being much easier.

I think I understand the reason for the Shield Invincibility Mode now. It's a tool that allows casuals to get used to the new controls.
So, the folks behind Attack on Titan animated a Star Fox short to commemorate the newest game's release. What a time to be alive O_O
