  • So, this week I got to: play the long-awaited DMC V, see a new Endgame trailer which got me hyped AND now I just got the news that James Gunn is getting reinstated as GotG 3 director.

It's like the universe's desperately trying to give me a legendary nerdboner.
Lol, Captain Marvel's not turning out to be the absolute, 100 percent banger with the critics that the fanbase was expecting and now they're having a meltdown.

Captain Marvel? More like "Captain Meh-vel". :p

I'm okay with Cap. Marvel taking a plunge, because it proves two things: 1) that Wonder Woman didn't just get overwhelming praise because it was "jew-funded male genocide REEE" and 2) there is no global conspiracy spearheaded by Disney to have everyone shill for them.

Fanbase don't get that which is why I like the DC_Cinematic subreddit more. They were appreciative when Aquaman reached Thor 1 levels of praise.

I felt more suspense watching Lilo and Stitch than this new god-awful Predator film. I heard it was not good, but I never expected it to suck so hard.

Also, just the idea of the Predator trying to absorb the little boy's autism is just hilarious to me.

Basically, the protag's son is an autistic savant. That's Hollywood-speak for superhero.

It is revealed that the Predators travel to different planets and acquire the abilities of the strongest member of that planet's strongest species. The Predator deems that the autistic boy is that prime warrior due to his autism and tries to kidnap him so that he can assimilate it.

    What kinda bullcrap is THAT??
Is it bad that it just hit me how messed up fighting a demonic fetus was in DmC? Ninja Theory staff must have been on some potent dank sh#t that day.

God, I love that game. Too bad we won't get a sequel.

In all fairness, DmC is kinda more "realistic" than the older installments. The vagina heart never struck me as something out of the ordinary because you had plenty of bosses before that were anatomically messed up. A bald, coked up hooker carrying the spawn of Satan in her pregnant stomach, a spawn WHICH she could deploy in combat is far more metal than anything the previous DMC churned out.

My friend was hanging out with me when I got to that part. I'm pretty sure it scarred him. He still brings it up from time to time.

Funny thing is I never saw the kid as inherently good or evil. I kinda wanted Dante to connect with him a bit so when Vergil kills him it's more of a shock.
Lol, why does the live-action Aladdin look like a porn parody of the real thing?

Funny thing is the background score kinda of reminded me of Star Wars.

Tbh i rather have more experimental takes like Malificient than just straight remakes. So I'm not that interested in it. I wanted to be because its Aladdin and I love Guy Ritchie but I'm just not feeling it.

Holy f#ck, I had no idea Guy Ritchie was directing this film 'till you brought it up.

Him and Shane Black should go back to their roots of directing grounded crime comedies. This blockbuster sh#t is not working for them.

Why are you guys saying THIS will ruin Will Smith? He's literally a star figure. A crappy looking remake of a cartoon isn't gonna suddenly shut him out of Hollywood.
Apparently, they're gonna hand out less popular Academy awards during commercial breaks. The ceremony's panning out to be such a major trainwreck I might actually watch it.

Literally Black Panther might as well be the damn theme of the awards -_-
It's a shame Jon Hamm has not had a superhero stint yet. He has a powerful presence and is quite a decent actor too.
Me, an ignorant: No way John Wick 3 will top the stylish gunfights of 1 and 2.

The story's cliffhanger gives him freedom to do what he wants in the new film. That's why I believe this will be the best of the trilogy. The only thing stopping the film from being great is the film studio directors, not Reeves. He's capable of doing the scenes.

@Carlos I have faith in Stahelski. He clearly knows what he's doing.

I just hope they end it here. If they do, this js gonna be one of those rare perfect trilogies that is talked about for years.

Far From Home teaser seems fun. They really went for that classic Mysterio design, fishbowl and all. Here's hoping the movie delivers.

I predict it'll be better then Homecoming (not a hard feat really) but I have a feeling it'll pale in comparison to Spider-Verse.

Looking like a complete cringefest for me tbh.
If someone told me 6 years ago that out of all of DCEU's properties, the one about the fish whisperer in yellow pajamas would be the first to cross the billion dollar mark, I'd spit in their face.

Have to give credits to WB for one thing: they were goddamn hellbent on properly launching this universe. I thought they'd pull the plug after JL, but they toiled through and it looks like they're finally making it.

Granted, it is still early to tell, but recent developments have been quite promising.

I haven't seen Aqua Man yet, but everything I hear about it is positive. Really glad to see that it's doing so well. I'm also part of the minority of people that enjoyed Justice League. :O

I admit, some of the reviews for Aquaman are nuts. Like that one guy who complained about too much CGI. Apparently, WB should have dug for the real Atlantis instead of that green screen ****.
Is it just me or is Will Smith getting progressively worse? He used to be my favorite human being but now almost everything he spits out is raw cringe.

he's not as big a star as he was, i'd assume he's coping with it, making him seemed rather different for us.. plus he was in suicide skuad

Yeah. It's not really his fault, though. The producers keep putting him in ****ty movies. They're actually devaluing his brand.

Because he's trying to keep himself relevant. I think Will, much like Keanu and Nicolas Cage, just enjoys acting regardless of whether the film is bad or not. He's just gotta find a successful niche and he'll be set.
They got James E. Jones to voice Mufasa in the remake but they replaced Jeremy Irons, who is also alive and well, as the voice of Scar. What the hell, Disney!
    Steve
    Steve
Oh man. Jeremy Irons as Scar was pretty much the best part about the original Lion King for me and I'm sure a fair few other peeps. Here's to hoping that Disney are able to cast someone with a similar level of creepy intensity. :O

@Rebel Dynasty yeah, I meant Mufasa. Fixed it.

@Steve they've cast Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar a.k.a the lead in 12 Years a Slave. I'm not a fan of the decision, to be honest.

Not the first time Disney did a dick move like this. They're replaced Scrooge McDuck's original voice actor, while acting like or making him think he would be in the new version.
If Detective Pikachu ends up being good, it could finally be the breakthrough live-action films based on anime AND videogames needed.

I personally can't wait for it even though I'm not a Pokemon fan at all. It just seems like a load of fun and very faithful to the 3DS game it's adapting, I might add. They even got that storyline about Pokemon going berserk in there.

I have a feeling that if this movie succeeds, it could open up possibilities for Ash and his pikachu to appear in a standalone film.

They ruined Avatar. They messed up DBZ. Now Hollywood's going for the jugular with a live-action My Hero Academia. God help us all!
Saw Venom earlier this afternoon. The Venom-Eddie dynamic carried the film. Everything else was utterly terrible. It still wasn't Catwoman levels of bad so it has that going for it, I guess.
