The actor who played young professor Bruttenholm did a pretty good job.

Only on Mission 4 right now but do you know what I like the most? The customize screen and main menu screens. I can sit in those screens for hours and just watch the characters move and make comments. It's strangely relaxing.

So I'm playing DMC5 and the game switches me over to V. My first impressions went as followed:

"Wait... Is his shadow kitty the same Shadow from DMC1? So does that mean his bird is-" (Reads name of the bird) that is mother flippin' Griffin!" :jawdrop:

(Uses Nightmare for the first time)

"OmG it's... Not the giant gun from DMC1. Ah not a big deal... Wait am I controlling a giant monster?" (Cues the music of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers summoning their DinoZords) "We need Nightmare Power NOW!" (Nightmare crashes onto the scene)

I'm thinking how I really want to write a Devil May Cry 4 / Warhammer 40 000 crossover, but will likely never get around to writing it. Nero as a member of Inquisition, Dante a freelance demon hunter...

I have a bit of a soft spot for him though; probably because DMC4 is the game that got me into franchise.

I can respect that , I like his design and moveset etc , it's his personality and immature whining that get on my nerves

His va does a great job , but his delivery of the whiny dialogue just makes me cringe about Nero as a character

True enough, but wasn't he supposed to be cca 16 years old in DMC4? Though from what I have seen it doesn't seem he changed that much going to 5, which is a problem.

That's my main issue, he hasn't matured with age

Yeah. I never had a problem with it in DMC4, because in that game - as I said, he is young, and neck-deep in s***, and the entire framework that had been giving him stability had just been shattered. In those circumstances, having him be composed would actually be immersion-breaking to me, so I never had problem with any of his apparent temper-tantrums, breakdowns etc., and never could really understand or agree with people who complained that he was whiny or immature. But by the time of DMC5, he had (presumably) had somewhat-stable life, relationship with Kyrie, and a job he apparently enjoys. He should have been far more mature and emotionally stable in DMC5, so giving him the exact same characterization as he had in DMC4 is illogical.

@Picard - Seems like Capcom has more of a problem with character development than they do with anything else. It’s a shame really.

I’m also thinking “How many of us cried like a middle-aged woman who just had her husband leave her and is being comforted by a huge tub of ice-cream and her friend whose life is equally as depressing as hers” when they got DMC 5?
