Always wondered why a guy with a giant ethereal demon hand that can extend and grab objects doesn't just- I don't know- USE IT! Your girl and the baddie are like five feet away just grab them! Oh, and don't pursue immediately, stay there and cry for two minutes afterwards...Pussy. So glad for this reboot.

This is what makes writing a constantly fun challenge for me. I could think of at least two or three ways, like you said, for that to play out, and still conclude the same way.

I think there's this common misstep when writing certain things where people give them some great skill or ability, and then it's only used when its convenient to the plot. I, however, list out every single thing that a character can do in any given situation, and the stipulations of those abilities. Then, when they are faced with a problem, I start throwing it at all of their listed abilities, and see which one has the greatest effect and doesn't get too far out of hand.

And one thing that always bugged me - if Dante and Nero have the strength to do half of what they do in cutscenes, then locked doors opened with RUSTY KEYS should never be a problem :/ Once you give a character super-strength, you can't take that back, unless there's good narrative-wise reason to do so.

I'm pretty much indifferent about the demo of DmC, really. I would be psyched about DMC5, though. And no, this game is not called Devil May Cry 5, it's called DmC: Devil May Cry.

There wouldn't be much for me to get psyched about. I enjoyed DMC4, but the concept was getting tired. Really? We have another guy trying to obtain Sparda's power? A lame version of Arkham...meh. Dante had become too powerful, so we were forced to play as some mediocre protagonist through half the game.

Just my opinion obviously, but I am really glad we get a fresh entry into the series.

I do think that DMC was getting stale, too. New weapons and new areas are all that's really needed to make the gameplay a bit more fresh, but when everyone cries for staple weapons like a gauntlets and stuff like that, it ruins the creativity that could be put into it DMC4's retread halfway through the game didn't help either :/

Story-wise, DMC never focused enough on its narrative, and while DMC3 was okay, and DMC4 was interesting too, they still followed a tired formula that couldn't keep the series going for much longer - even the anime was able to deviate from it for a bit. DmC's story was different, and completely new for the franchise, and maybe the DMC team in Japan will learn a little more about focusing on narrative, and how not every game has to revolve around someone wanting to open a portal to Hell.

You're glad we're getting a mediocre game to replace the once awesome DMC series? Well, to each his own, I suppose. I'm more interested in Nero and how he will turn out; he can still develop in many ways, and he's much more likable than that douche Dante from DmC, if you ask me. The new Dante doesn't even have a decent Devil Trigger; he doesn't even turn into a demon.

Capcom's lack of creativity is their problem, not Ninja Theory's. It just seems very lazy to me to leave DMC with a different developer. Just change the DMC series without turning it into something completely different , or let the series die, but don't change it into this 'DmC' abomination.

Hey pal how about you stop presenting YOUR OPINIONS as FACT... If you watch the IGN video you'd know that Dante is not a "douche" so how about giving a balenced and fair argument rather than being so one sided and ignorant of others opinions? I can understand how some are skeptical but when the say the game is "mediocre" and that the characters are bad without even playing it then I cannot agree with someone like that at all. Wise up!

How do you know the game is mediocre? It hasn't been released and we haven't even had a crack at the demo. That assumption of yours has absolutely nothing to back it up.

We can just agreed to disagree on Nero vs. New Dante. Any version of Dante >>>>>>> Nero, in my book. Nero is painfully generic as a protagonist and has no appeal whatsoever. The only thing remotely interesting about him was the possibility of him being Vergil's son.

Why do you think the new Dante is a "douche", because he is cocky? If you think Dante has just recently picked up this attitude then I suggest you replay DMC3, because he is basically the same character personality wise.

I don't mind the new DT look because this version of Dante is half Angel. It makes more sense given the new origin.

I think Campcom realized that their creativity is lacking, which is why they wanted fresh perspective on the new project. You didn't provide a single reason to warrant calling this game an "abomination" lol.

I'm sorry if I offended you, but DmC is in fact inferior to the old DMC series in many respects. It's not my problem if some fail to see that. And oh, yes, because an IGN video is the absolute truth... don't make me laugh. Don't you have your own opinion instead of having to rely upon that of others?

I can see the game is mediocre from all the gameplay footage that has been shown, trailers, and of course the game art. When you compare something like Eryx, the gauntlets from DmC, to the Beowulf, Ifrit and Gilgamesh gauntlets, you'll see what I mean. Eryx is just a hunk of fire - it doesn't seem like much thought was put into it.

Nero is less generic than even the old Dante. Nero actually has more than two emotions, and has the guts to show that he can cry at times. He goes through a very good development as well. Aside from that, the idea of him being a new version of Sparda is just awesome.

Dante is a douche in this DmC because he's portrayed by a painfully terrible voice actor, and lacks style. He just wears ugly pants, a tattered and ugly coat and army boots - how lame and generic can it get? People should take Bayonetta's character and enemy designs as a rolemodel, because that's actually pretty decent.

Since he's a half angel and half demon, wouldn't it make sense for him to, I don't know, NOT look like a human while in DT mode? I would expect him to look even more awesome, but no, we get this bull.

Everything about this game is terrible. Well, except some visual effects and the story, maybe. The combat gameplay is the same as that of DMC4, only choppier. Ninja Theory and Capcom even admitted that the combat has been dumbed down.

I'd like to hear your arguments, but I'm afraid they will be based, like that of most supporters of this game, on their emotions and their interpretation of what they see instead of on what they're actually seeing. Look at what's actually going on, and you'll notice that DmC is ****. Compare the old combo videos like 'The Elohim' of the player Kail with today's gameplay, and you'll see.

Dude, you cannot compare high-level Turbo DMC3 gameplay to DmC's moderale level, normal speed gameplay that we have available...You're comparing a full game that has been torn apart to a game that we don't even have all of the abilities and weapons for, and isn't even out yet.

Why not wait until the whole game is available before comparing the two. Then that argument might actually be something worth listening to :/

Besides, it's been confirmed that there are like, what, three or four weapons in DmC? You can't seriously believe the combos are going to be as varied and fast-paced as those of, say, DMC4.

There is no helping the situation. I'm sure there'll be many who boycut the demo but even more who will play it to tear it down. At last, I just keep the clock running, ya'll keep the conversation going.

I've played them all, and "The Elohim" was Turbo gameplay...

DmC has eight different weapons, ten if you count the abilities that can be done from the Pull and Lift tools (Kick and Uppercut), and you have access to every single one of them at all times. I'd say that ranks up there with DMC4 Dante with potential...

Hey, I wish I could be positive about this game, but it's just impossible when you compare it to the previous games and games like Bayonetta. I'll play the demo, but I doubt it will change my views of the game. I've found some people I've talked to - especially on social media websites - to be afraid of voicing their opinion, or simply wanting to follow their friends in what they like and dislike, which is incredibly sad.

Potential, perhaps, but have you seen the combat videos? Some even had titles like 'incredible combos', and I was like ''Whaaat? He keeps doing combo A, followed by B, followed by A again. Are you people blind?'' Doesn't matter if the Elohim was turbo, that's just one example of many. I guess most people don't know how to get a good combo going, and therefore need the combat to be dumbed down.

I don't want to sound like a 'hater' (such a hackneyed word), but it just looks terrible to me. The voice acting is pretty bad, with the guy who voices the new Dante sounding continuously uninterested. That, and much more. I could go on and on, but I won't, because I've got other things to do.

1) Honestly that just sounds like spite, you come across as very biased. As if this game can do nothing to please you. I have been keeping up with all the trailers, game art and gameplay. They all look top notch to me, and I wasn't sold on the game when I first heard about it. Eryx makes his arms look like they are made of molten rock, which is pretty badass in my book.

2) Where is the development for Nero? All he does is cry and whine about wanting to save some girl. More than two emotions? Lets see....there is really angry and really sad. That's all I can recall.

3) How is that voice acting terrible? I would argue it's the best in the series. Especially when you compare it to garbage like, "I should have been the one to fill your dark soul with LIIIIIGGGGGHHHHHT!!!!!!" and "My soul is saying that it wants to STOPYOU!!!" lol. So in you hate his style/clothing? You didn't seem to mind the trench coat and boots reused in 4 games.

4) Once again you are just hating on something because it isn't what you are used to. You just want to be spoon fed the same concept over and over. That's fine for you, but I like to change things up from time to time. Being narrow minded gets you nowhere.

5) Correction, everything is terrible according to you. Yes you are judging something you haven't even played and it's ludicrous. None of the videos I have seen look the least bit choppy, and the phrase "dumbed down" was never used lol. You just continue to make up BS to support your hate.

6) So I am biased, but you aren't? You are being extremely arrogant. Stop acting like your opinion puts you above everyone else.
