YOUR FAVORITE SUPERHERO!

I just thought I'd make a thread discussing our favorite superhero! As many of you might already know, my favorite superhero of all time is Spider-Man!

He just has always stood out on top as the greatest superhero of all time for me, ever since I was a little kid.

So, who's your favorite superhero of all time?

Don't Let the Fall of America be Your Fall
People would expect me to say Batman, but for those who've known me here for a long time know that there was another before him.

The Conman of magic and mystery; John Constantine. Possibly the most influential character not only to me, but to much of DC comics in terms of magic. This character has stood the test of time (literally, he'd be in his 70's right now) and has aged with us while dealing with all the ancient evil that's been around us this whole time. Luckily John was there to make sure they stay their asses in line.
Why I truly love this character is the fact that he's flawed, he's an anti-hero, and he's a mage in working class.
John is in all sense of the word, a bastard. He's screws over his friends, cheats, lies, steals, and hurts people's feelings both intentionally and unintentionally.
He's a total man-whore whose up for anything; Men, Women, BDSM, torture porn, you name it.
He's a heavy drug user with not only cigarettes but also marijuana, PCP, hallucinogenics, speed, etc. But that's from his punk days as a punk rocker.
He messes with demons and magic on the daily. He knows he shouldn't and he KNOWS that messing with that will have consequences in the long run from dead friends to other terrible situations, but he just doesn't learn. He dips his foot in the crazy again and again to fulfill his own desires, or just to do it.

So with all those flaws, why do I like him so much?
Easy; he KNOWS he's flawed.

He knows all the terrible stuff he does is bad and knows the consequences. Whenever a friend dies, he feels bad for doing it and blames himself entirely for the occurrences. However he knows that he'll do it again without a second thought and hates himself for it. I relate to this a lot considering I've done pretty bad things in the past and know I'll just do it again at some point. It just feels nice to know that I'm not the only one.
I like that despite doing all the bad he's done, he still tries his hardest to find a silver lining and do some good every once in a while. John may be a mess up, but he's a mess up who knows he messes up, and at least has the audacity to apologize and try to make it a tiny bit better. NOT completely better, but a little bit better.
He get's scared of the things he faces and has even almost ****ed his pants in fear over what he sees on a daily basis, however he still faces it all with a snarky grin, a cigarette, and a wisecrack straight from the UK. Constantine does runaway from a fight and even ends up looking like a fool in running away, but I actually like that in a anti-hero; bravery isn't always the right choice. Sometimes you gotta bow out and John does plenty of that when he knows he's facing someone too much for him.
From John Constantine, I've learned that it's okay to have flaws, and it's okay to be fearful of yourself. These are normal traits of a human being and shouldn't be looked down upon. Flaws are just the small cracks of who you are that make you unique, and sometimes it's best to just leave those cracks be.
So, yeah, John Constantine has obviously been an influential character not only in my own writing, but to my own perspective of life.
Just don't expect to live long when he comes asking for a favor.

What you said. Spider-Man is the best!

It depends do you mean Marvel or DC. Cause I do have my favorite superhero narrowed down to two, but I can't choose between them. Luckily, one's Marvel and one's DC. So I can say I just say my favorite DC and Marvel superheroes.
Note: I admit these two aren't very original choices for people's favorites, and some argue they're overexposed.... But I'm not the type of person to dislike something just because a lot of other people like it.

From Marvel

It's Wolverine

Wolverine always left an impression on me. Even as a kid I always liked the rough, tough, loner characters. He's a cool character, who I feel sorry for, because of every thing he's gone through (a hundred years of war, death, and pain) and, I'm gonna be honest, as a Canadian, I take pride in the fact one of the most bad@ss superheroes is from the great white north.

From DC

It's Batman

I like Batman for a lot of the same reasons I like Wolverine. But also, he's the very first superhero I remember seeing. Between the animated series, the movies (live action and animated). You also have to respect his drive. Unlike most superheroes he has no powers, and has to rely on his wits and skills, and makes it through.

So yeah, I cheated a bit choosing two characters. Believe me, I've tried choosing between them, and every time I lean to one, I get pulled back to the other.

"Hey, Wolf, who's your favorite child?"
That's basically what this topic is. I can't pick just one. Especially with how long I've been enveloped in comics.

My favorite DC Hero is Batman Beyond, because I found him to be a compromise between the Dark Knight's brooding persona, and the relatable adolescent imperfection of Peter Parker. Terry McGuiness was an excellent characters in both the TV series, and the comics---from personality, to tactics, to the choices he ended up making, his relationship with Bruce, and the way he put Bruce's training to use in every scenario. Too bad they decided to royally-screw his origins in the last episode of JLU.

ThorForAsgard1.jpg
My favorite Marvel Hero is Thor. In fairness, my infatuation with the character stems more from my uncoditional love for Norse mythology...but to see the figure portrayed so well, and pitted in such awesome scenarios in both the Ultimate and Modern-Age lines, my interest for the character exploded. Couple that with Chris Hemsworth's masterful casting for the MCU, and tragically-underrated animated film of the God of Thunder squaring off against the Hulk, and my interest is essentially sealed.

And my favorite alternative Hero is Spawn. I don't think there's anything I can say about this character that can't be interpreted from viewing the astounding HBO magnum opus where I saw him first. Just watch the series---read the comics. Revel in Keith David's womb-rendingly badass voice, and Todd McFarlane's stunning artwork. A lot of people think Spawn is just "an edgier version of Batman"---to which, I can only assume they've never read the comics themselves. Seriously, at what point did Bruce Wayne ever join special forces, get incinerated by his best friend, get SENT TO HELL, washed clean of his memories, and given a parasitic symbiote body with unstable powers to live in a tortured isolation in the damned bowels of Rat City? Oh, wait...he didn't. All needless comparisons to "Orphan Man" aside, Al Simmons is a curious thing because of how unlike other superheroes he is: he's callous, anti-heroic, brutal, self-serving...going as far as to occasionally turn his back on the needy, or torture his enemies to death. He's a flawed and broken character, but the surrounding characters and overarching narrative know he is...and that's where Spawn's interactions with others shine the most.

I'd like to see a spawn vs hellsing battle just to see how long spawn can last.

This is technically on-topic.

So, who exactly would be his death battle "rival" then?
Well, he's probably vulnerable now that he willingly gave up the powers he absorbed from God and Satan. So now, Alucard may have a sporting chance thanks to Schrodinger's interdimensional powers.

Other superheroes, though? Probably not.

I don't read a lot of comic books. But my favourite western superhero is probably Static from the tv show "Static Shock". Runners up include Spider-Man and Batman.

Wolverine.
Not that I relate to him or anything. He's my favorite hero to watch on a rampage.
Have you played the excellent X-Men Origins game? It's the ideal Wolvie-simulator. You can wear his classic suit, rip enemies to shredded flesh and bone, and fight Sentinels...all with Hugh Jackman's voice to carry the carnage along.

Next to the Spider-Man games, that's my favorite Marvel game.

^Is that from Prototype?

Have not. I avoid movie video games like the plague. Even if it gets good reviews... well, mainstream gaming news sources are not innocent of taking bribes. Let's just leave it at that.
Though, I don't doubt the Origins game is bad if you say it isn't.

He's my go-to in MvC and Marvel: UA, though. Rocked him in X-Men: Legends back in the day, too.

I enjoy the claw slashing the most when it's killing or kill-stealing my friends. c:
