true it can never get 5 mil but i dont doubt that it will sell well. i know my money wont count cuz in my country we have moded consoles and we buy pirated games from shops that cost 1$ cuz there arent original there isnt any piracy law in my country

CoolDemon this is not the first time you had a problem with a member. First it was You Know Who, then GGC, and now ZweiLove who wasn't even trying to get on your case from the looks of it. You even admit yourself that you have a history of getting into arguments with people. If one person was constantly getting on your nerves, but you got along fine with everyone else, then yes that person is just a troll. But you get into blows with a lot of people, but seem to think it's always them. Take a step back and look at some of your posts in this thread alone. You got heated over nothing and started attacking ZweiLove and calling him a troll for no reason. The staff has told you time and time again to stop jumping down people's throats. I suggest you listen to them.
OT: No, I don't think DmC will sell well. Regardless of what reviewers say (I'm guessing a 10 from IGN -_-) it's really word of mouth that sells games. As of now the game looks pretty awful, so if it stays that course you can bet it will suck and people will talk. Not to mention it's being made by Ninja Theory. They do not have a big fanbase, so even if all their big fans buy the game how many people do you really think that is?
I've found that not many people give a crap about Devil May Cry at all. Not this game and not the original series. That is not promising either. You have a split fan base, so only half of DmC fans are gonna buy this game. We're looking at less than a million sales right there. Let's say 900,000. (That's about half DMC4 sales factoring in not everyone who bought the game liked it or considers themselves DMC fans.) That's assuming they all buy it right away. Then there are NT fans. Enslaved sold poor, like 500,000? So let's say all of those people also buy DmC. Then there are the people that don't give a crap about DmC/DMC. Word of mouth is going to spread about the game and assuming it sucks (from the looks of it it will) only the most diehard DMC/NT/Capcom fans will like it. Whoot. Word of mouth picking up new fans isn't looking to good.
So,
900,000 DmC fans
500,000 NT fans
That's only 1.4 million copies and that's assuming half the DMC fanbase is pro-DmC and buy it right away. More realistically we're looking at about 600,000 DmC fans. And I doubt all of NT's fans are going to buy the game right away, not to mention not everyone who bought Enslaved liked it or is a NT fan, so figure more like 250,000 sales from them.
We're now looking at 850,000 copies of DmC sold right off the bat. If word of mouth is good then it will probably go up to about 1.3-1.5 million, but not much higher than that. If word of mouth is bad then the game might not even break one million.
That's assuming the game is bad. If the game is good then figure more DmC fans will buy it right away and maybe even some DmC haters too. So let's say one million. Factor in the 250,ooo-300,000 NT fans and you have:
1 million DmC/DMC fans
300,000 NT fans
That's still only 1.3 million. Factor in word of mouth and you are looking at another million tops. More realistically about 500,ooo-750,000. So about 1.8-2 million copies sold. And that's best case scenario.
So no, DmC will not sell well. Or at least I don't think it will based on what I just posted.

This thread is to discuss sales of DmC. Zwei came into this discussion and said "This is already discuessed".
For what purpose did he post such comment? Why did he need to tell us this? I know the answer to it and i will quote Zwei himself "I have defended this game to much to not buy it".
I got a history of arguing with people. But you know i also got a history of going well along with other people. There are two sides of a coin. And just because i have argued alot does not have to mean that it's completely my fault for these arguments. Though i realize i could act better i will say this: My behavior depends on the people that replies to me.
If you reply to me in a respectful manner - you will get that. If you reply to me in a condescending or in a way that contributes nothing to what i have said such as not replying to a argument i have presented then you will receive the bad side of me. I suggest that you focus less on me.

I think I might be able to put the whole "DMC fans were disrespected" thing into a clearer light.
NT has laughed at fans and keeps harping on how it's only the hair people are upset about. That is not true. Yes at first there was a lot of complaint about the hair, but after the first few months after the game's announcement NT was acting like that was still the only thing fans were complaining about. Fans had tons of different complaints and instead of listening to the fans concerns and hearing them out NT continued to ignore them. It's not even like NT had to do everything the fans said they should. Hell no, they should make the game they want to make. But the thing is they have a beloved series in their hands and they have made the fans that don't kiss up to them feel ignored and unimportant. Not even giving someone the time of day is rude and disrespectful. Yes, a lot of DMC fans were very rude and childish in regards to NT. But NT was rude to them in return which only added to the fire. The best way to calm an angry person down is to not feed their fire. Instead of having an arrogant attitude toward the DMC fans NT should of just said something like, "We understand your concern and we know it's never easy seeing a series you really like change. However, please keep in mind that this game is meant to be different from the others and that's why we are taking the path we did. We hope you will give it a chance."

That's all they had to do. I bet you anything a lot of people would have calmed down some. After that NT could respond to the calm and level-headed fans' concerns (like meh
) while not paying much mind to the blind haters. I think you'll find there are more level-headed fans out there than crazy ones. It's just that NT has successfully p*ssed off such a large portion of the fan base that even some of the more level-minded fans are getting tired of their attitude.The best thing NT can do now is apologize. That's the thing that gets me. They haven't been as annoying lately, but they haven't apologized for some of the things they've said. Even a "we realize we did not handle fan concerns as well as we could have" would of made a lot of people happy. But no. They keep acting like they did nothing wrong. All sides are at fault here. The DmC haters, the supports, Capcom, and NT all messed up and should have handled themselves better. If any one side stood up and said "look we messed up" then I guarantee that things would mellow out some on all sides. Especially if NT was the one who took the high road.
I for one would have more respect for them if they did that. But I doubt they, or anyone, would do that. Fo shame...
(Although even if NT apologized I probably still won't buy DmC because it looks awful XD.)

Do you think those who are at the extremes of hating (and even some who are not quite there but are tiring of how it's all panning out) would realistically settle down a tad and accept an apology? Or would they pick it apart or refuse to take it for what it is? Would it be an insult, even, to have waited this long before saying sorry? Should the fans, in turn, apologise for how they've reacted?

I'm unsure as to whether enough fans would be placated by an apology - I'm not saying none will, but the loudest protesters might not be so forgiving? And if they are the voices everyone is hearing all the time then how much weight do their words carry within the fanbase in terms of whether any apology, if given, is accepted?
And your post clarified a good number of issues, I believe, although I suppose as I'm not a DMC fan, I'll never truly get the perspective that others do regarding this game. Even if I apply it to a game I do love then although I can see why people would feel disrespected, I would still regard it as somewhat of an overreaction - perhaps even a prejudice of sorts, if I'm truly honest. It's almost as if some people are expecting it to be awful or expecting it to destroy everything they know and love about devil may cry. And maybe it will. But to have that firmly in mind BEFORE any real experience of the game in question does seem a little...I dunno... off? Like I say, I'm not a fan so I obviously don't have a clue what I'm on about. If anything, I can only really view it as an outsider without bias in either direction when it comes to this sort of discussion.
I guess I'm just saying you can dislike what you've seen of a game and the direction it's going in based on what little information has been given, but to flat-out HATE it in its entirety (as some fans do) seems like a very premature judgment with little evidence for it.

I think if they apologised they would have to be clear what it was they were apologising for. Because I can see the fanbase seeing an apology as a crack in their armour and then getting on their high horse and saying 'See we knew we were right. Now all they need to do is admit that their new DmC sucks and everything will be ok.'
I have no opinion either way and dont much care either way as I dont even play DMC but im sure Ninja Theory are happy with what they have done and wont apologise for any design decisions that they havent already rectified.

An apology would just be turned around by the anti-DmC fan base as 'proof' that NT was wrong. It would only serve to bring up past incidents and that's like prodding a dying fire at this point. I imagine videos posted on youtube saying "See! Oh, Now they want to say sorry! Nah, nah, Ninja Theory, it's too late for that! It'd just give the quiet haters more fuel to raise the flames. In any situation, I have learned, time is a healer and the best way to heal and calm past issues, pains and grievances.
