O.k. I'll say this once. THEY KNOW IT'S NOT JUST ABOUT THE HAIR AND THEY'VE MENTIONED THE CONCERN IN INTERVIEWS! Maybe not to the detail of a fan rant, but that has been addressed that they at least are aware of the concerns they'll have to prove wrong.

At 5:01
First off,

CAPS LOCK IS THE INTERNET EQUIVALENT OF YELLING AND MAKES YOU LOOK BAD! Way to make yourself seem angry over a post that was not meant to offend anyone, but only act as a way to clarify something. I really hope you didn't take my post personally because that's what it seems like in your response.

Also, at the end of the interview you shared Mr. Jones makes a cheeky, "don't freak out about not seeing white hair" comment.

........yeah.

And if you look at his facial expressions when talking, especially when discussing fan reactions he has a small smirk on his face. What's that supposed to mean? When talking about fan reactions he says that they are working extremely close with Capcom.....they meet with them a few days out of the month. So he basically lied. Even his tone suggests a "i don't care" attitude. He empathizes the word "angst" like that's the only way to describe fan reactions. All around I don't see how that interview helps your case because even though he does bring up fan concerns he doesn't address them effectively, and he even goes back to the "don't freak out about white hair."

Also, at the end of the interview you shared Mr. Jones makes a cheeky, "don't freak out about not seeing white hair" comment.
If you don't think it adresses you, think about the people that are actually hung up on the hair issue. Take one quick glance at the facebook-page. It's also way easier and shorter to just state that, instead of "People, don't worry about the framerate, the combat, the AI, the level design, the artwork over all and the general changes in the game: we are professionals.". Can you picture the reaction?
(Fanmob burns down NT-headquarters. Fan statement: " NT disrespected us by implaying that we aren't professionals, even though I beat DMC 3 on S-levels throughout the bank!")

And if you look at his facial expressions when talking, especially when discussing fan reactions he has a small smirk on his face. If I were him I would roll on the floor from laughter about the fan reaction. It's like taking away a child's lollipop and replace it with another not yet half-eaten one; but the child in my simili is a crowd of adults, which is very, very sad.

What's that supposed to mean? Crying over a vidya characters redesign does not exactly make you seem rational or noteworthy.

When talking about fan reactions he says that they are working extremely close with Capcom.....they meet with them a few days out of the month. So he basically lied. I don't see, were he contradicts himself here. The internet is a powerful tool in these days. You don't have to sit next to each other, to co-operate on things.

Even his tone suggests a "i don't care" attitude. Why should he? His company invests money in this project and they won't pull back halfway through, because some people are against it. Do you know what the developement of a game costs these days?

He empathizes the word "angst" like that's the only way to describe fan reactions.Don't kid yourself or your readers. Not everyone is as sophisticated in their criticism as you are and you know that.

All around I don't see how that interview helps your case because even though he does bring up fan concerns he doesn't address them effectively, and he even goes back to the "don't freak out about white hair."

It doesn't address me so I can't bring it up? There are a lot of people out there that are not whining about the hair, but actually have legit concerns about the game. They just aren't as loud. And you saying what fan reactions would be is based on if NT said those exact words which I doubt they would.

If you are doing an interview then you are the voice of your company and how you act will effect how people see you. If you can't be professional and remain unbiased, or as you put "sophisticated" then you shouldn't be speaking to interviewers because you obviously don't know how to act maturely and rise above the blind hate.

And as far as them collaborating with Capcom. They meet with Capcom a few days out of the year. They didn't say how or for how long. That doesn't sound like much of a collaboration to me.

ReRave, I've said it a million times and I'm gonna say it again. Most of the people that are upset about DmC/NT are not blind haters yet you seem to lump them all together into one group: as does NT. That is exactly the kind of disrespect I'm talking about. If you (or anyone) can't see that then that's your own fault.

And you are right. Not everyone is as "sophisticated" with their criticism as me. Though I prefer the words "mature" and "intelligent" but that's just me. But just because I know that doesn't mean I can't point something like that out. This goes back to me saying if you can't be professional and "sophisticated" you shouldn't be the face of your company.

Way to misread my comment. That is in no way what i said. We ar ehere to exchange, not to prohibit eacht other from stating ones opinion.

First off: Gaming industry is a little more casual, than other business, but that's not really the point here.
I wouldn't read so much into those little details. It's like you want there to be insults hidden in the interview.

And as far as them collaborating with Capcom. They meet with Capcom a few days out of the year. They didn't say how or for how long. That doesn't sound like much of a collaboration to me.
Also they said, they are working very closely with Capcom as far as combat is concerned. They got the license from Capcom and there hasn't been one interview, were either Alex or Itsuno weren't on-screen.
Sounds like dedicated collaboration to me.

ReRave, I've said it a million times and I'm gonna say it again. Most of the people that are upset about DmC/NT are not blind haters I stopped reading here for a second: I know that. I wouldn't be here if I didn't, believe me. Would be nice of you, if you wouldn't lump me in with anyone either.

yet you seem to lump them all together into one group: as does NT. I absolutely don't, but there are so little of those people, that you can actually discuss this with. I KNOW that there are people that take this whole thing seriously, but for each one of them, there's hundreds of sheep just riding the hate-train. Another thing that you certainly know. You must see, that it is far harder to pick out the twenty opinions, that state some valid points, than just trying to calm down the fanboys.

That is exactly the kind of disrespect I'm talking about. Well, then on behalf of everyone who thinks that the raging hatemob is a bigger backset than the people who are just valid sceptics: We are terribly sorry, that NT doesn't mention your concern in their interview, because they are busy fending off death threats and developing a game that most of their customers already hate. How does no one see, that NT are only human ( and I want to emphasize this. Watch some making-ofs, you'll see what kind of guys work in vidya and how hard their work actually is) and being insulted a million times on a daily basis doesn't exactly help the communication with consumers, that don't want your product anyways(professionality can only get you so far).

If you (or anyone) can't see that then that's your own fault.
You didn't think that through, did you?

And you are right. Not everyone is as "sophisticated" with their criticism as me.
Though I prefer the words "mature" and "intelligent" but that's just me. But just because I know that doesn't mean I can't point something like that out. No one said you are not allowed to state your point. I don't even know how you started assuming, that that was what I wanted to do.

This goes back to me saying if you can't be professional and "sophisticated" you shouldn't be the face of your company.
I'm holding back. I am trying really hard not to be a smug asshole, but it's not easy.

Then it might not affect sale so much.

I think advertisement is like a gun. If you shot 1 bullet at the monster it won't die. You need to shoot many bullets. And my point is:

DMC HD
DmC new reboot game
DmC movie

That's three bullets :p
in real life one shot to the head equals it dies
in other words if this game gets an advert that makes it look awesome all of the sudden
people will buy it

Well every time someone starts arguing i think we should bring up pictures about flame wars
it would be a nice way for a good laugh and a way to tell people to tone it down a bit :)
I could not tell you the last time I flamed someone. That's something I just don't do. And just because people are arguing doesn't mean it's a flame war and should stop. =]

I really wish people weren't so afraid of conflict.

Although that picture was funny. XD

And what are you if there are DmC haters? Are you a simple gamer who likes DmC? A simple like of DmC? Or do you have a obsessed like of DmC one that's equal with DmC haters?

There are two words "honest" and "genuine". They are the key to people forgiving you.
Though i personally wouldn't care about that apology because this late it would only seem like a "sales" action thing for me. However, i would probably forgive them.

And that license plate on car seems more like a insult to DMC serie than anything. Feel free to explain the purpose of the license plate. Because my interpretation of license plate is that "DMC 5 is dead" or old or wrecked.

Since you brought it up, some part of DmC does look like rip offs.
Well some part of dmc4 looks like a rip-off too. How about that?
DMC5 could mean
1) it(DmC) is the 5th dmc game. 5th game called devil may cry.
2)Could mean dmc5 is coming(IHN).
3)It could mean N. O. T. H. I. N. G!!!

Please explain what you meant. :)

If you are doing an interview then you are the voice of your company and how you act will effect how people see you. If you can't be professional and remain unbiased, or as you put "sophisticated" then you shouldn't be speaking to interviewers because you obviously don't know how to act maturely and rise above the blind hate.

I wouldn't read so much into those little details. It's like you want there to be insults hidden in the interview.

If the games industry ever wants to be taken seriously by the rest of the word then they have to be held to the same standard. It is a business like any other.

And no, I am not trying to find insults hidden in the interview. I was looking deeper than just what he was saying. I was also looking at how he was saying it. Nonverbals make up more than half of communication. That's what I was looking at.

Just because they say something and make appearances doesn't mean it's a close collaboration. But since neither of us truly knows how close it is I guess this is really a moot point.

You say that but...

yet you seem to lump them all together into one group: as does NT. I absolutely don't, but there are so little of those people, that you can actually discuss this with. I KNOW that there are people that take this whole thing seriously, but for each one of them, there's hundreds of sheep just riding the hate-train. Another thing that you certainly know. First you say that you agree with me that there are more people that aren't blind haters, but then you say that there are way more blind haters. Please clarify what you mean.

Oh, and I said you seem to be lumping. I didn't say you were actually doing it. BUT! I see now that I was wrong to assume. My apologies. ^^

Whoa whoa whoa! Calm down I meant no offense. I've yet to see a single actual death threat, but I get your point. Honestly man, this is what PR is for. You've got the people hard at work on the game and then you have the people that deal with the community and pres. Where are those people anyway? I only ever see Mr. Jones and Mr. Antondiadisblsrdgb (I don't know how to spell his name.) You are right NT are only human. The game developers should be focused on the game and let their PR people handle the fans concerns. Yet I don't see much of that.

If you (or anyone) can't see that then that's your own fault.
You didn't think that through, did you?

No, I did actually. Please explain what made you think I didn't.

I wasn't saying anyone person said I couldn't. It was a more general statement. I'll look through the context again and let you know exactly where that came from.

This goes back to me saying if you can't be professional and "sophisticated" you shouldn't be the face of your company.
I'm holding back. I am trying really hard not to be a smug asshole, but it's not easy.
Saying you are trying not to be a smug asshole is, in a way, being a smug asshole. :P And I'm not sure what part of that sentence is making you want to be smug?

Please explain what you meant. :)
Ok, I'll try: I understood you said, Jones is grouping those people, who have a mature sceptic opinion of DmC with those, that are simply nuts. What I wanted to say with my answer is, that you shouldn't get hung up on that. It's just easier to handle for NT and Capcom, if they only adress the boiling points in their interviews.

If the games industry ever wants to be taken seriously by the rest of the word then they have to be held to the same standard. It is a business like any other.
Our opinions differ yet another time: Vidya should never go serious. You saw what it did to Megaman. If Gaming industry will keep focusing on profit alone, I will bet you anything that it will die out in less than fifteen years for lack of innovation.

And no, I am not trying to find insults hidden in the interview. I was looking deeper than just what he was saying. I was also looking at how he was saying it. Nonverbals make up more than half of communication. That's what I was looking at.

You choose to go deeper than words, while I refuse to do so. I understand where you're coming from, but i don't necessarily think your approach is universally right.

Just because they say something and make appearances doesn't mean it's a close collaboration. But since neither of us truly knows how close it is I guess this is really a moot point.

Amen.

First you say that you agree with me that there are more people that aren't blind haters, but then you say that there are way more blind haters. Please clarify what you mean.
I don't see where I contradicted myself, actually. I know that there are people like you and me, who don't just blindly look forward to the game, but I also know, that there are way more out there, that are just in it for argument's sake (and not the good kind of argument).

Oh, and I said you seem to be lumping. I didn't say you were actually doing it. BUT! I see now that I was wrong to assume. My apologies. ^^
I take no offense on forums, don't sweat it.

Whoa whoa whoa! Calm down I meant no offense. None taken, I assure you.

I've yet to see a single actual death threat, but I get your point. http://www.facebook.com/devilmaycry?sk=wall
Sifting through this mess, you will find a few.

Honestly man, this is what PR is for. You've got the people hard at work on the game and then you have the people that deal with the community and pres. Where are those people anyway? Now that you ask, I wonder myself: Antoniades (that's how you spell it, I think) isn't PR-Manager and neither is Jones. Why do those guys do the PR work, anyway?

I only ever see Mr. Jones and Mr. Antondiadisblsrdgb (I don't know how to spell his name.) You are right NT are only human. The game developers should be focused on the game and let their PR people handle the fans concerns. Yet I don't see much of that. Well, what do you expect them to do, really? I can't think of any solution that would shut the masses up.

No, I did actually. Please explain what made you think I didn't.
It sounded a little stingy. More like "Well, if you don't like it, then screw you for all I care". That's how I felt reading it, correct me if I am wrong.

I wasn't saying anyone person said I couldn't. It was a more general statement. I'll look through the context again and let you know exactly where that came from.
It's fine, I guess I got a little heated there myself. You know that happens fast.

Saying you are trying not to be a smug asshole is, in a way, being a smug asshole. :p
Chicks dig it.

And I'm not sure what part of that sentence is making you want to be smug?
All of it. I didn't know how to answer, seeing how your statement was basically right, so I chose to vent my agression in another way, by passive-agressively stating, that if I wanted to, I could beat you down with my smugness.
In hindsight, that was really childish and I am a little ashamed for trying to threaten another user with empty words like that.

Please explain what you meant. :)

Aha! I get what you are saying. The reason why I don't like it and talk about it is because it simply isn't fair. A simple side comment saying they know it's not everyone would be perfect. :)

If the games industry ever wants to be taken seriously by the rest of the word then they have to be held to the same standard. It is a business like any other.

I firmly believe that the full meaning of something cannot be found by only looking on the surface. There is research upon research to back that up, but if you just don't want to do it then *shrugs*

I know you didn't contradict yourself. "Contradictions do not exist. If you think you've found yourself in a contradiction check your premises. You'll find one of them is wrong." That's why I asked what you meant. I figured I had missed something. ^^

I've yet to see a single actual death threat, but I get your point.

*rereads comment* Aha! I see where you could have gotten that from. That was not my intention. It was more of a "I tired of saying the same thing. I know I'm right, so whatever." The whatever being more of a shrug then a screw you.

Saying you are trying not to be a smug asshole is, in a way, being a smug asshole. :p

No worries. ^^

See everyone, me and ReRave just demonstrated how to hold a discussion with someone. ;)

Aha! I get what you are saying. The reason why I don't like it and talk about it is because it simply isn't fair. A simple side comment saying they know it's not everyone would be perfect. :)

Start at 4: 56 and listen closely to what he says at about 5:06. It's a really small phrase, but it's nonetheless there and I take it as a personal triumph. :D

I admit he too gets back on the hair topic, but still.

Wha-? No! I think game companies should focus on innovation and making great games. What I'm saying is that the people that make games and do interviews should be professional.
My bad, again, I am obviously not at the height of my mental capacities today. I was mixing up professionality and inventional (I am not sure, if this is a real word....) rigidity.

I firmly believe that the full meaning of something cannot be found by only looking on the surface. There is research upon research to back that up, but if you just don't want to do it then *shrugs*
I think, that official statements like this, should be taken only by the words of it. The man speaks for the whole company as you already said, and in that function, his personal feelings shouldn't matter. The statement is to me just a statement. Jones' own opinion is none of my concern, since he was talking for Capcom, not for himself.
In personal conversations I am, of course, not as pragmatic. I don't want anyone to believe I was a heartless freak.

I know you didn't contradict yourself. "Contradictions do not exist. If you think you've found yourself in a contradiction check your premises. You'll find one of them is wrong." That's why I asked what you meant. I figured I had missed something. ^^
Glad to clear that up.

I will. ^^
Yeah, beware, that place is a mess.

I know right!
Something to ponder.

A sincere apology. ;)
While that might work for you and a few others, there will be so many people, who would still demand an immediate end to the project. I've been verbally brawling with those rage-zombies for over a year now and I simply lost every shred of hope for them, I might have had in the beginning.

*rereads comment* Aha! I see where you could have gotten that from. That was not my intention. It was more of a "I tired of saying the same thing. I know I'm right, so whatever." The whatever being more of a shrug then a screw you.
It's cool, really, don't sweat it.

I don't. :p
Not yet.

No worries. ^^

Well, I'm glad you're not getting hung up on that.

Well some part of dmc4 looks like a rip-off too. How about that?
DMC5 could mean
1) it(DmC) is the 5th dmc game. 5th game called devil may cry.
2)Could mean dmc5 is coming(IHN).
3)It could mean N. O. T. H. I. N. G!!!

What part of DMC 4 is a rip off? And ripped off what other game?

3) Only a moron would say this. Most things have a purpose.
2) Highly unlikely
1) That's could be it, but kinda weird that it's DMC 5 when DmC is a new serie.
