Deadly Fortune outright contridicts the actual game's story on so many points and events, as well as diologue, that it's pretty much Bingo's fanfic version of what he wante dto happen, but was likely over ruled on by the director and other writers. he was a scenario designer, not the head writer of DMC4

It doesn't contradicts the game, the game contradicts itself.
 
So Dante going into fighting the Gate guardians already HAVING the stolenm devil arms instead of recovering them after teh fightg is the game contridicting itself and NOT the novel contridicting the game? Or the fact that by word of Kobayashi, the game's director, DMC4 takes place ten years after DMC3, and Nero is the same age in DMC4 that Dante was in DMC3, thus making "Nero = Vergil's love child" a total impossibility?

Novel outright conflicts with the game's own events, and was done after the fact, it's not like the DMC1 prequel novel and DMC3 which came out four years later. Deal with it, the DMC4 novel is a licensed fanfic of what Bingo wante dto do in the story, but got over ruled on.

Well that blows, Vergil was a amazing character even if he was one deminsional, but being overruled was something I myself thinks was stupid on Capcom's part. They could have done so much on him instead of having him as part of the plot of DMC 3. I guess i understand why the reboot was given out, but what if they just redid the original story without the reboot changes but rebooted the story to where it made more sense, would eveyone still buy it? I doubt that would have brought back sales at the very least. Crap..... damn you Capcom!!!

No, it isn't, you aren't Capcom and they didn't say such. The devil arms reversal was done for purely gameplay purposes, so the player gets "reward" for defeating a boss rather then obtaining it before.
 
I have posted to the interview where Kobayashi specified that DMC3 is ten years prior to DMC4, and specifically noted that Lady was ten years older in DMC4 from when we first met her. I believe I actually posted that in a previous dispute you got into with me, do I need to link it for a third time then?

Bingo did his own thing with Deadly Fortune, it changed a number of things from DMC4 for his own disired outcome, including destroying Red Queen and blue Rose, when no such thing happened in DMC4, and we see that clearly.

It did, look at Nero when he escapes "the core" Red Queen and Blue Rose are gone cause they melted, in later scenes, they are back, contradicting itself.
 
That was because during teh fight with Sanctus outside the Saviour, he dropped them both, they were not "melted" inside the statue. Play it again and watch carefully; he's already lost them by the time the Saviour grabs him and absorbs him in.

I don't see him dropping anything
 
If he did, they he wouldn't have been able to retrieve them back, that's because he didn't in the canon ;)
 
You also don't see them on him when he's taken into the Savior; case in point, Nero did not have his weapons with him to have them melted by a supposed "fluid" that was not even in the Savior in the game. Also, he has them AFTER he rescued Kyrie in the canon of the game since he has them with which to fight the demons after Dante leaves, book contridicts this saying they were "melted." Book non-canon, it's Bingo's version of what happened in the game, not the CANON GAME version

So wait, are we arguing over the novels and the game? *sigh* See things like this is why Capcom should have just explained **** from the start. It would have been better for the fans to understand what exactly is going on. Sure things are good until you screw up and story that could have had something amazing about it.

It's Capcom. There is still crap from the X series to explain it's exact links into the original Megaman series that have yet to be actually detailed outside of a friggin collection book that was STILL vague as hell on things. Don't even get me started on Nintendo and the mess that is the ZELDA timeline and continunity.


ON topic. Something I thought might be interesting is to have DMC5 branch out to explore that nine to ten years between DMC3 and DMC1, when Dante is building up the shop and establishing his new reputation as "the handy man who takes on any dirty job." Explore of what he was doing in that time, maybe even thropw in a bit of a DMC/ResEvil mix since it's be a great way to pay homage to the series' origins, and since let's face it, you can fit the two game worlds in the same universe. I could easily see Wesker having known young post-Eva Dante when he was called Tony.

They actually work rather well together, since they have similar tones and atmosphere, and the T-virus actually can be explained in it's ultimate origin as a demonic plague. Even the novels referrence zombies with the corpses that the demons were possessing, it's not too much a stretch for Wesker to be familiar with Dante and his exploits.

Dude... if you are joking then LOL, if serious, then you should cease posting... Progenitor Virus has origins in flowers growing in underground caverns in Africa, there's nothing supernatural about it. This comes from a guy who disagrees with Vergil-Nero thing...
