What have you bought recently?

Bayonetta/Vanquish 10th Anniversary
This Bayonetta is more improved for the PS4, right?
I remember the PS3 version being an inferior port, with it being at 30fps and having super long loading times, even when you're accessing pause menus or inventory (although an install patch to shorten load times was issued later).

EDIT: Does Bayonetta on the PS4 has some sort of "checkpoint restart" option? That would greatly increase my chances of buying it.

Dead Cells - Oh. My. Lord. Why didn't I buy this beauty sooner? It's the most beautiful 2D game, I've played thus far. I'm confused about gameplay as far as how to save the game, progress further [it's a Metroidvania game with RPG elements.]
Doom and Doom II Classics - I loved the originals, and I'm glad to be playing again.

The port is way more improved and is similar to the PC version with some enhanced visual and speed feature if you have a PS4 PRO. What you're getting a regular port with no extra content. There is no restart checkpoint sadly, but I already knew that wasn't going to happen. Otherwise it would have been mentioned in the advertising.

EDIT: When you install Vanquish, it won't take less than a minute like Bayonetta. There is an update install for Vanquish that is 9 gigs and will take 12-15 minutes to install. Just a heads up for anyone.

¡¡Yo tambien!!

Plus I paid off my preorder of the Megaman XZ/Zero collection. I also put down a pre-order for the Shantae Pop Funko.

There is no WAY they'd port the PS3 version to jack s***, especially when Jack just left town. It's an improved version of the PC port with the 4k support. It's super fast and with all the pretty color that the PS3 washed out.

So, here's what you do if you're going for a PP run and want to restart from a checkpoint. If you want to restart from the previous checkpoint there is no direct option to do it so you have to do a small work around which is this: Pause -> Exit to Main Menu -> Continue. That'll place you at wherever the previous checkpoint was. It's a pain in ca$$h, two steps more than needed, but it works and it's how people do perfect, not hit, Pure Platinum runs.

Yeah, using the continue option should be less painful with the speedy loading times I've seen in some PS4 version previews.

The "restart from checkpoint" option with no repercussion in Metal Gear Rising was one of that game's saving grace, otherwise getting S ranks would be impossible for me.
I wish more games would do that and it sucks that DMCV counts restarts as a "death".

A Blu-Ray/DVD player for the longue so that we don't have to huddle around the laptop in my room every time we want to watch a movie.

Pens, a seal, and a brush that was supposed to be for Rosie but Stilts has decided he loves it, so I guess it's his now.

As mentioned in the other thread: Mega Man Zero Legacy Collection.

Really can't imagine playing this game without the new checkpoint system.
Like, what the f*** were they thinking with this level of difficulty?

Same. [And corrected for ya. :P]

Tickets for some Victorian comedy show...could be great, could be awful, but for £3 I'm not particularly bothered
I was right. It was an abomination and I have no idea what was going on...we left at the first interval and never looked back.

My recent purchase has been an order for our local food-bank. People are forgetting that due to coronavirus, donations are dropping for food-banks and now there isn't enough food for those who desperately need it. Our food-bank has a huge shortage of the most basic items because people are panic-buying.

Bought Parts 1 & 2 of "Earthsea" - a BBC Radio 4 full cast dramatization of the six Earthsea books by Ursula Le Guin on iTunes.

About 5 and a half hours worth of drama - should keep me occupied whilst driving on the long lonely roads for work...

I pre-ordered a physical copy of Streets of Rage 4 Classic Edition (Switch). I plan on getting the PS4 standard edition later, Both are on Limit Run games. With the Switch version, I can use my 6 button Sega Genesis Classic Controllers. I'm gonna need two more for 4 player co-op. If I can find a couple others aside from my brother.
