he's my new favorite flash character.
@Sparda's rejected son
thats a common complaint across famdoms.
reminds me of the time I overused "subjectively" when trying to defend DmC in its early days.I think that "objective(ly)" has started to replace "literal(ly)" as the most annoying word filler in recent times. If I had a nickel for every time someone said objective/objectively at the start of a sentence and followed it with something that was irrelevant to being objective, then I would be a very rich man.
The short answer is that because the video games aren't canon to the anime, Konaka didn't want to be beholden to them when writing Tamers, hence why the Ryo in that show is a cute Easter Egg for the fans who played the Wonderswan games, but you don't lose anything by not having done so since he isn't the exact same character that requires you to do some homework to understand what's going on.I'm surprised Digimon Tamers didn't actually doing anything with this character's history.
damn this is wild.
was Ryo's games the next big thing Bandai wanted to push at the time?The short answer is that because the video games aren't canon to the anime, Konaka didn't want to be beholden to them when writing Tamers, hence why the Ryo in that show is a cute Easter Egg for the fans who played the Wonderswan games, but you don't lose anything by not having done so since he isn't the exact same character that requires you to do some homework to understand what's going on.
Not really. The ones involving Ryo as a protagonist were essentially tie-in video games made to promote Adventure, 02 and Tamers animes as they came out.was Ryo's games the next big thing Bandai wanted to push at the time?
ok. I don't mind Ryo's inclusion but still think it's an odd choice because why bother use him if you wouldn't explore that aspect?Not really. The ones involving Ryo as a protagonist were essentially tie-in video games made to promote Adventure, 02 and Tamers animes as they came out.
The "Digimon World" series of video games were more of the bread and butter of games that Bandai were trying to push at the time since they were each standalone and could be enjoyed without watching the anime.
