Laptop is getting worse, just typing a comment & had 68% battery & then it turns off on me. Be so glad when I can stop using it & have a new PC.
They haven't taken them away yet, I wouldn't be so concerned. :tongue: Don't feel so offended by these invisible fantasy stealers.
However, I don't think it's always about being jealous or insecure about their looks. There's a genuine concerns about objectification and reducing women to nothing more than tits and ass sex objects with no feelings or personality; and men to nothing more than violent muscle morons or effeminate pretty boys who look good and nothing else.
So long as people can tell the difference between fantasy and reality, those kind of fantasy depictions should be okay, but it doesn't always work out like that.
The sad thing is, you're always going to get a few mentally unhinged weirdos who carry their fantasy into reality, and that's what makes people wary about female characters being portrayed that way because there are always going to be people who think women should be like that in real life and treat them as nothing more than dolls and sex toys to be preyed and perved on.
As for wanting to take away everyone's fantasies, they can't get inside your head and take away those daydream fantasies now can they? :tongue:
Besides, the kind of fantasies some people have regarding women and men should stay in their heads and never be acted out in real life unless they want to be arrested.

It's equally ridiculous that an entire gender is portrayed as a bunch of sex dolls with no personality and people buy into that rubbish. It can be a harmful image and I can't believe there are those stupid and deranged enough to buy into it and take their fantasy further. There are some pretty sick people out there; the fanfiction, artwork and comments posted on the net are proof enough.
That's what I'm saying. It's the weirdos who ruin it for those who don't go around molesting and attacking women, but unfortunately, those weirdos make a pretty convincing case as to why images like that can be dangerous. People see how the weirdos act and condemn a whole load of people because of it.
The weirdos are just as bad as the people at the opposite end of the spectrum. But at least the other end have valid concerns about violence towards women and sexual predators.
Your point about the main complainers being people who have issues with their own image who are jealous of fantasy characters and dependant on them isn't always the case. I haven't met anyone who wants to look like one of those exaggerated creations or was even jealous of them. They don't want the images removed of censored to restrict someone's fun or to make themselves feel good.
While I don't always agree with them, I understand that their main concern is usually about women being victims of sexual violence because of the nutters out there who would act some of that stuff out given the chance. Being exposed to those kind of images and stories simply validates their abnormal desires and fantasies.
But like you say, it is a few sickos ruining it for a majority. It's like anything these days. People just can't control themselves and the rest of society has to deal with the consequences.
Tell that to LARPERS or cosplayers who mimic fantasy. Or the adult coupled who act out scenes in fantasy erotica novels. Admittedly, they're not unhinged loonies, but a lot of them are adults who are mimicking fantasy characters. It's not just the mentally unstable who mimic fantasy; and even the most stable person could one day just snap and act out.
Anyway, the way I see it, this basically boils down to each side being offended at the other side for reasons they think are legitimate, and back to the Stephen Fry quote. If people are so offended then they should either take some serious action, or shut up and stop complaining about being so offended at the actions of the other side because it just becomes invalid whining at an invisible enemy who they perceive is out to get them.
To the people crying doom and gloom and sexual deprivation, go sort out some real problems, that may or may not come as a result of people getting way too into fantasy, and realise not everyone who is into that is a nutter.
To the nutty people way too involved in fake fantasy tits and crap, there's something called the real world, maybe you should visit it sometime, get some friends, maybe a real girlfriend and realise they won't be some submissive waifu sex slave with impossible tits. Failing that, either get some counselling or just march yourselves to prison before you act any of that weird stuff out on someone.

So I had the writing test for state testing today. The first thing I had to do was right a short story about discovering a mysterious artifact while on some trip thingie ma doozit. I'm thinking "Alright this is good I've been writing short stories for the past week" and then ....BAM. Writer's block.....Crud!!
