Hehe, funny that we come up with some viable points, and then you just choose to ignore us instead of trying to be open-minded.
No, i ask myself why i am even discussing with you two. First it started with GGC, and ithought "Sure", then you who suppoesdly had put me on ignore list also joins GGC.
And by then i decided it's not worth going on further because everytime you or GGC discuss with me one of you always like eachothers posts.

Quite frankly i don't wanna waste time on you two. I stopped also because you brought up a big text about Psyclocke. And comics and games...can't say i read much comics to be honest.

To have some fun and not think much about replying to your points: i guess you could say DmC Dante is like the demons in DmC. They are disguised as humans and humans can't see that. Same case with DmC Dante - he is in a disguise ;)

I liked GGC's posts because I agree with them. And I stopped ignoring you since yesterday or so, because I no longer found a reason to do so. I'm not angry with you or disliking you or anything, just disagreeing with some of your views about DmC. I just needed some time to chill, and it helped alot. ^^

If you had taken the time to read my post about Psylocke, then you might realize I did so to prove a point - that characters who have an alternate self in a parallel world doesn't have to be the exact copy of the original character to still be the same. But your response does seem rather immature and close-minded, that instead of reading through the post and try and understand my point, you just choose to ignore me... Which apparently you didn't do anyways, since you saw my response and quoted it.

So I'm asking you, politely... Would you please try and read through my post and see if you get my point? That would be much obliged. Because then we could discuss the game and focus on that instead of continuing a feud I don't wish to continue.

And that's cool. ^^
Can I ask why that is though?

It is a reboot. How can it be the same character? The only way for them to do that was to make it DMC5 or another prequel. And if it would be a prequel, well, can you see our Dante coming from that?
I’m quite happy enjoying both games as two separate games, the same with the characters.

The only other way I can think of to describe what I think DmC is, it’s more like a re-telling of the story from the beginning and making changes here and there. But the word reboot, I thought, says it all.

(Our Dante!? I sound like someone off Coronation Street…)

Fair enough.
I don't agree. If you've read my post earlier on this thread about Psylocke, you'll know how I see it. I do agree that this is a re-telling of the story though. I've said that since day one. ^^

Well, more or less. :P

Asmodaius You don't have to like me. Frankly, I don't like you either.
Your better off ignoring me Asmoadius. And it will save this forum alot of trouble.

Oh and yes i am immature, narrowminded, ignorant and much more :)

Why not do the mature thing instead?
Admittedly, back then, I didn't like you. But I've realized that there is no need to feel that way, and I do apologize for all the hassle I've been part of that's troubled you and these forums. I've moved on now, and I hope you will do the same so we can do what this forum is meant for - discussing the game.

Ah, you mean that DmC and DMC (gah, I’m getting fed up of typing it like that now) Dante are the same but from parallel worlds? I’ll feel really stupid if I’ve missed the point :/

I don’t like the idea of parallel worlds. They only comparison I can make is The Old X-Men cartoon that I use to watch in the 90’s. I keep that separate from X-Men Evolution and Wolverine and the X-Men and from all the movies. Yes, they all of the same character’s and sometimes they change them quite a bit but I’ve just never seen why they were needed to be considered all the same people.

Gawd, I was such a huge Gambit/Rouge shipper when I was 10 XD I miss that series.

That was exactly my point, actually. ^^
I'm not that fond of parallel worlds either, they can get rather confusing, but I accept them for what they are and just follow the ones I like. E.g. I don't really like the movie and cartoon version of Psylocke, mainly because she was just a secondary character with little to no spotlight, so she never got the chance to develop or give an explanation why she is what she is, but I'm still glad she had at least some appearance in those media. I just wish there were more. :p

I don't think I'm going to have that problem with Dante though... but that's my faith in NT's storytelling abilities talking. ;)

All in all, I don't mind that there are these differences between the two versions of the same character. If there's one version I don't like, I simply don't follow that version and stick to the one I like.

i don't see DmC and dmc the same way either.
frick man, i see so many stupid comments on other game forums and youtube about this new dante being related to the previous four games.
i had to bring the word that its not. stop your stupid fantasizing about this DmC dante turning into Dmc3 dante.
DmC is new thing on its own with borrowed themes and elements from old dmc and other movies and whatnot.

CoolDemon, Autumn, Dante incognito you guys rock by the way.

i also think that there should one day be a Dmc 5 released to complete the old franchise or something in the future (of course that will not happen).
but i thought some fans would've like that.

Ah, so you're the bringer of truth, huh? XD
That's hilarious.

I do agree that DmC Dante isn't DMC Dante and won't turn into the Dante that appears in DMC3. But they are two versions of the same character. The original version and the new version. But yeah, I've made my point earlier in this thread.

And I do agree that a DMC5 would be nice to have to end the original series gracefully and fill in the plotholes... though I doubt one single game would be able to do that.

Were there that many to fill as i only needed to know whether or not sparda/vergil were dead or whether or nero was vergils kid?

They aren't two versions of the same character. How many times must i correct you on that?
DmC Dante is a version of DMC Dante.

Let me illustrate that more:
mario.jpg

Marios we see after 1981 (1985-2008) in this picture are in principe versions of 1981 Mario. But Mario that was made in 1981 IS NOT a version of 2008, 2002, 1996, 1991, 1990, 1987 and 1985 Marios.

By saying "They are two versions of same character" your saying that DMC 1 Dante is a version of DmC Dante, and that's simply not the truth.

Even though all the marios after 1981 are versions of Mario - they are very right to call "Mario" because they all preserve how Mario looks like. And that is really awesome.

No, that's not what I am saying. What I am saying is there is DMC Dante... That's one version. It's the original version, the first Dante.

And then there's DmC Dante... That's the second version. The Dante form a parallel world.

CoolDemon, we actually mean the same thing. I just express it differently.

Yes, but i am telling you that by calling the original Dante a version makes him no longer original.
It's wrong to say "They are two versions of same character" because original Dante DMC 1 is not a version - he's Dante.

So the word version does not apply for DMC 1 Dante. He's not a version :p

Example DMC 2, 3 and 4 , and DmC Dante are all versions of DMC 1 Dante.
