OK I just experienced something that really impressed me, here's how it went:
At lunch time today(12 hours ago) I started my RDR2 session after a long sleep in and shortly into my session of free roaming I came across the man building a house outside Valentine(I met him a few days earlier when he was under attack by bandits), the house was half finished and the man said he was on the verge of giving up building due to being broke so he asked me if I would be willing to help him out by either paying him $100 or going to get some lumber, I took the job to get some lumber.
I rode to the Appleseed area and saw the site where everyone was cutting down trees and what not(even helped a guy who had a tree fall on his leg), key thing to note here is that there was an entire forest, trees everywhere.
I spoke to the forman, got some lumber and returned to the guy building the house, gave him the wood, he thanked me and promised to pay me back and I went on my way.
Here's what impressed me:
12 hours later(right now), I spent those 12 house free roaming and did only 2 main missions and just now I ended up riding past the Appleseed site and saw that a HUGE chunk of the forest had been cut down.
Rockstar seems to have added in that the workers don't just keep cutting down the same respawning trees, the workers keep cutting till there's no trees left.
It amazed the hell outta me.
