Of course demons share emotions.

But Sparda's emotions were for a greater good, such was being the savior of humanity. That augmented his powers beyond the imaginable.

Well that's a given. I'm just saying that Berial had the emotion for caring just as Sparda. Most demons down there are brainless and blood lusted and power crazy.

Now you're contradicting yourself big time.

Trish is a full demon herself yet she looks as human as you and me. Demons disguised as humans always to infiltrate where in their natural appearance would never.

Dante's philosophy has always been that 'devils never cry' which I thought meant that demons don't need to cry because they have no emotion to express and it's only with a human side you are able to express emotion. I thought thats how we realise that Trish and Lucia were not full demons.

Oh IDFK to me it has never been called Devil May Cry because demons can have emotions. As you play it you realise that Dante the devil can cry because he is partly a human with a heart which is supposed to be the big difference between the two and Sparda was the only one who broke that rule. Which is why they changed the name of the shop at the end.

According to Berial, he always thought humans were nothing but Demon food so he was confused why Sparda would turn on them for the humans. He even said he was hurt by Sparda's actions and wondered if he could forgive him. He also claimed he admired Sparda for his power. Berial for some reason really hated Dante because Dante killed a Devil named Lucifer(DMC's Version of Lucifer) which is suppose to be a highly ranked demon. So some demons do share human emotions, even Lady admitted to this at the end of DMC3...But what does she know?

Until I read that..interesting where did it come from?

Devil's-Lair translation of the DMC4 Novel, you can find the most important info on the front page but some small things he left out are in the Novel/Manga forms on that site. Devils-lair.org

You don't need to be human to feel emotions, apparently, so it is Devil May Cry for real. The title has meaning.

So your saying that Dante doesn't know what he is talking about?
Crying isn't just some random bodily function like being able to fart it is an expression/outlet of emotion the two go hand in hand. Surely saying "devils never cry" means devils don't need to, because they don't have a heart?

You obviously need to accept like every Devil May Cry fan, that you can't base the whole story on what happened in the original Devil May Cry.

Devil May Cry 3 changed a lot of stuff, so DMC1 is kinda risky to mention things worth universally in the series.

If a being can prove emotions, It can also cry.

omg...are u really saying that?...dante, in dmc3, was sayin how he is part demons and demons aren't supposed to cry cuz they're supposed to be all badass and tough...doesn't mean they don't...hence DEVIL MAY CRY.....as for him changing the name to Devil Never Cry, he was just showing how people don't normally see that "human" side in demons...

Also, in the Devil May Cry 3 epilogue, Lady speaks that in the world there are humans as evil as any devil, but there are also good demons out there.

Like the people who desperately want to believe that 2 has been taken out of the series I tend not to take much notice.

Both 1 and 2 were included in four's history of DMC and that's enough proof for me that they are all still regarded as part of the same timeline.

If it was history as in 'what it used to be' they wouldn't have included 3 which would be the new 1 and not part of the old contradictory story. But they just stuck them all together like a story so far.

DMC 1,2 and 3 were all in the 'history of DMC' in the DMC4 gallery. Meaning they are all still part of the same timeline. Nothing has been taken out.

Hell they loop it for like half an hour when your installing the game to the PS3 so you can't tell me not to go by that.

What you need to know is that even demons without a human blood in his veins, can shed a tear and love. Sparda is the example.

That said, there are demons out there which are in the same boat as Sparda.

But in 3 she regarded him a just a devil, not a devil with a human side, she shot him in the head and from that point thought of him as a devil. Thats why she kept saying things like.
"what would you know about family? Your a demon!"
"it has nothing to do with me being a human and you being a demon"
"a demon like you wouldn't understand"

In 3, to Lady he was just a demon like all the others even if she did know about the story of Sparda's children it must not have clicked at the time or his emotion would have made a lot more sense to her.

at the end of 3 lady said how demons can show emotion...she said, devils may cry...hence the name...

You really ARE missing It.

Lady says that to Dante before the end of the game. Which part of the word EPILOGUE, you didn't get there.

ORIGINAL POST.
