I didn't say he was better than DMC1 Dante. And just like Paexie told you he's not supposed to be like DMC1 Dante until the end of his journey.

first off i do agree that DMC1 dante is the epitamy of cool. but we need to be subjective here.

DMC Dante is in his mid 20s. hes been through hell literally and back. hes fought his own brother to the death and worked hard his entire life. on top of all that he can still keep a cheerful and funny attitude towards everyday life. cutting jokes and having a blast. because hes matured, he doesn't through down f bombs or swear like DmC because its immature, and just not cool

here new Dante went through as much crap as the original if not more so as he has been attacked constantly since he was a child both mentally and physically by countless demons trying to turn him into a weapon they can use. while in DMC most of the demons are surprised (well initially) believing the son of sparda to be no more than a rumor and gossip. added to the fact hes only 17-19. im not surpirsed hes swearing at the supernatural monsters that want to disembowel him. this is a chance for Dante to mature and actually change and develope as a character. which is something none of the other DMCs ever did.

and ive seen you complained about NT having no scripting ability..well let me remind you of a little scene from the great DMC

Really ? I'm pretty surprised to see that he's swearing in 'style' and without really getting provoked that much..

It's a matter of taste whether DMC1 Dante is the best or not, I like he's seriousness over all the jokes, that seems to be gone in DMC3/4, DMC2 Dante just lost his tongue ...

This is IMO storywise the best scene in DMC1

Edit: Who says **** you when your love interest dies in your arms? Just saying that we have seen many many many scenes with new Dante and no cursing except that one infamous boss fight, that was just hilarious.

Come on guys, give it a break everyone has her/his bad moments, but that doesn't automatically define who they are

he is childish but then again he is still young so give him some slack and lets see if he matures. if by the time hes in his 20s and hasnt changed, trust me ill be right behind u on this.

I didn't see anything in the trailers meant to make his lifestyle seem cool. It just looked like they were telling you how he turned out after the life he had lived. To me, anyway.

And not everyone stays the same. One girl I knew in high school has completely turned her life around. I was never friends with her, but I did get along with her. She has a couple of kids now, and that's the reason for her changing. There's another girl that changed for the same reason. The only reason why I'm mentioning the girls is because they're the only ones I've gotten updates on. My friends don't tell me about anyone else.

How about this. Don't make an absolute decision, yet. Leave room for your opinion to change, look at the potential as well as what's available. Sound better?

it comes down to just some fans nitpicking on every detail and public perception as there are a small number of characters in the old games and they mostly are enemies so it's more justifiable than in the clips of DmC where he has been a douche in two moments that weren't necessary i.e.- the knocking the soda of the fat guy and knocking the bouncer out.

I completely agree, that they are both supposed to be arrogant, brash, jerks that we are not supposed to like, but I also think that the Dante's character development in DmC will mirror that of DMC3 in that Dante becomes more mature and starts to take responsibility

I prefer DMC3 Dante and DMC1 Dante, and let's be honest, there was no possible way to "Westernize" this character, without making him a complete douche, because in order to "Westernize" Dante, you would have to have him SPEW curse words and be a brutal character.

Dante was someone who wasn't area specific, you could like him whether you were Western or Japanese.

My biggest problem with this new Dante is that he HAS to curse to be cool, where as original Dante rarely cursed, I don't mind cursing, IF THEY DO IT RIGHT! New Dante is only cursing to look cool, where as original Dante's coolness, while forced at times, never forced it so much that he was spewing out curse words

Thank you for the videos. And especially the top 15 Stephen King books list. I absolutely agree with them on the top book. The Stand was great. And I'm reading Tommyknockers right now. lol. And thank you for making me smile. I haven't been feeling that great for the past few days.

I have a feeling that Vergil would have ended up leading his own group, anyway. It's just his personality. Dante would probably be looking for whatever break he could from all the rich snobs.
