I wonder how they can bring Mundus back? Wish they gave him a human-like form with a sword.

I would prefer a new emperor, since Trish said Mundus used the fruit of the tree to become emperor

Maybe a new one could come out of the demon world , although if Dante and Vergil are in there that is highly unlikely

At this stage Mundus would be insignificant to Dante at his current power

If he was to come back though , a space fight would be cool again I guess, as for how he comes back I guess he would break the seal Dante put on him

This is a copy paste
Also thinking of it now as much as I thoroughly enjoyed 5 all together, the ending, final boss fight, plus the handling of Vergil as character felt so fanservicey tbh. Like Vergil basically accomplishes his goal from 3 and gains ultimate power while laying waste to a city in the process and at the end it's just swept under the rug. Personally I would preferred Urizen was actually the result of Mundus stealing Vergils body Goku Black style and then realizing that Vergil potential plus his own godly power is incredibly great even stronger than Dante now. Then Mundus realizing Vergil body was dying due to pieces of his soul being lost he decides to steal yamato from Nero and use it to cut out Vergil human half giving us V. Then through out the later sections of the game Dante believes it Vergil who's causing all this when he finally confronts him only to be revealed it's Mundus in Vergil body and after a long battle Vundus after defeating Dante uses yamato to separate Dante demon half from completely and destroys it.

Effectively making Dante fully human and a lot easier to kill. With Dante supposedly dead it's all up to Nero who at this point is nowhere strong enough to matter and is forced to eat of the fruit which would explain how he obtained his new DT at the cost of his humanity versus that animoo bs we got(Also I would do away with Mundus eating the fruit to become King and just simply have him be that powerful).

This is how I'd reintroduce Mundus.

He seems pretty redundant at this point if I’m honest. Either way if he returned, Dante and Vergil would probably just team up akin to DMC 3 and defeat him in no time at all.

If he is at the same level he was on mallet island they wouldn't even need to team up , Dante or Vergil could take him solo , Dante literally absorbed rebellion (his own power manifested) and sparda (his dad's power manifested)

He combined that plus his power growth over decades

Mundus would be a great fight for Nero to prove himself against though , and it brings it full circle as technically Mundus fights a sparda twins descendant that way

Very much this, he brings literally nothing to the table anymore as all his achievements baring Eva's death have been undermined by later games.

You might as well just leave him be and create new antagonists going forward, it'd be much less effort then trying to bring back Mundus in an effective way that wouldn't feel like fanservice.

Mundus is still living by the end of the first game so he could just take another shot at taking down Dante/Vergil etc. Whether or not he should is another question entirely. I feel like if you do use him you gotta him something new to bring to the table- a new method/tactic etc. You should explore why he's still alive and how the underworld's heirarchy works etc.

I rather see Dante and Vergil take on Jedah Dohma of Darkstalkers or Queen Sheba from Bayonetta tho.

He ded tho'.

...Then again, so was a certain other person who just casually comes back to life in 5. I guess anything's possible nowadays.
I think it was mentioned that he disappeared, so maybe he didn't died per see. POssibility is there

That's true , his whereabouts are unknown and being a full demon even with his power sealed he should be immortal unless killed outright

Maybe he went into seclusion or something

Did you read my post? I ask cause while it may not viable solution now post-DMC5 canon, I do think it would of work wonders if it would of been done.

The DMC1 intro outright stated his death. It's not like the other person Lain mentioned, who was never actually declared dead and whose disappearance was open to interpretation. Sparda's death has always been an established fact.

there were never specified how or when he died. So it's pretty open imho.

I have been ignoring the intro to DMC1 since the hd collection

Haven't actually heard or read it in over a decade

My memory is hazy so appreciate that @Foxtrot 94

I mean sure. We can speculate on the how and when he died. But not on IF he died.
well until they actually show that he died, claims of his dead can be pretty vague. Unlike Eva who clearly specified was killed by Mundus. So I still think corrupted Sparda is possibility.
(we saw vergil explode in DMC1 and yet he still here)
