Apparently you get a Gold Orb each day if you login. This is something you see in a mobile game. Quite bizarre but if this means they plan to support the game long term if they implement systems like these that encourage keep playing the game over a long term then I'm okay with it.

It also makes buying Gold Orbs with Red Orbs even more pointless. Making the MTX argument even less valid. Honestly I never seen a product include MTX and go to such length to render them even pointless at every corner possible.

I don't think you can even buy G. orbs with R. orbs anymore. I think you can only buy a try again with R. orbs when you die and you can choose the degree of revive. It's how it worked with the Dante stream.

There is that but did they outright say that was the only way to buy Gold Orbs? We never saw the shop in full so Gold Orbs could still be up for sale.

Funny story that when I played DMC3 for the first time. I wasn't aware of the Yellow Orb and Gold Orb system (since DMC3 was the first DMC game I devoted time to play and played to completion) so when I booted up the SE version and picked New Game I was given the option of Yellow or Gold. Not really knowing what that meant nor did it seem the game actually told me what those meant I picked Gold because I thought it was better because Gold is a more luxurious color value than Yellow.

Oh boy did I dodge a bullet there.

You know, that's always bothered me about the SE of DMC3. At the time it was a big deal so everyone knew what the difference between gold and yellow was but over the years I've realized that they never clarified, in game, what the difference between the two was. If this is your first time playing the game you'd be scratching your head at what the hell this was. There is no explanation anywhere in the game as to why you have to pick one at the start. Plus you get to play as Dante or Vergil right off the bat and if you start with Vergil not knowing what you're getting into you'll be very confused throughout the whole thing.

Normally I wouldnt put this here but it appears to be lacking less features than the last time we saw Nico's shop

I guess this is the shop we will get in the new demo and we can only upgrade Abilities, Red Queen, and Exceed and looking by the fact we don't get Exceed 3 we probably won't be able to unlock all of Nero's available moves in these categories too. Knowing how stingy those bastards are I wont be surprised that all the upgrades are just the stuff that was unlocked from the last demo or probably the NYCC/TGS build (that would be fine at least Enemy Step and Shuffle would be there).

Makes me curious about Blue Rose. Is the Blue Rose we have in the last demo fully upgraded or not? BR sort of seemed stacked as it is what more upgrades can be added to it though?

My theory to add onto that is that Mundus did something to V maybe cursed him so he (and the other familiars) have a limited life span and must complete their mission before they die or Mundus kills them. Maybe V, the real person, is not 2 days old but the V persona is.

If V's not the guy's real name, maybe in the end he'll get one that suits him. Any ideas?

When they add Vergil to the equation it's all the more punny, if that's even a word, since we all know he's going to be playable before long. Itsuno said that he will add the characters the fans demand and for one reason or another Lucia seems to be dominating the polls. I think there was an actual poll on twitter (?) and she was way in the lead to Trish and Lady.

Haven't got one. I saw a pic of it on 4chan and I honestly didn't care enough to follow up on it. Not sure that the details are even correct but I vaguely remember the details being that.

I posted a video on the news thread about how the new version of the 3142 art book confirmed that Nico is, in fact, Agnus' daughter, but the video also raised the question, how? If Nico is Nell's granddaughter who is the daughter? In the novel Nell had no daughter, she had a son, one that had a striking resemblance to Dante named Tony, which was a huge coincidence considering Dante was calling himself Tony at the time. That son can't be Agnus because he looks nothing like Dante and his name wasn't Tony. Looks like the answer just raised more questions.

Considering what happened with Morrison, I've learned to take the anime/novels as "secondary canon" and just accept what the games say as true now. It's a lot less of a headache.

I had no issues disposing of the novel as cannon, considering it was only translated after DMC3 red coned it, but the anime I'd be happy to have thrown in a pyre and that pyre to the ocean and the ocean in a box that we'll hurl towards the sun along with the radio dramas that went with it.
