DmC - What We know so far

If the masked man is Vergil then im not sure that they are still brothers since in the trailer is seems they are relying on Dante to kill the demons since he refers to Dante as a "new weapon". If they were still brothers that would me they would almost equal in terms of power so he wouldn't have to rely on Dante to take out the demons. So if the masked man is Vergil i hope he's just hiding his power because even if it is a reboot a Vergil that doesnt fight just isn't Vergil IMO.

Vergil's Yamato has to be the key ingredient. Vergil seems like a low profile kind of guy in the other DMC. I always thought of Vergil as Chill and Dante as Party.

(I apologize in advance...but it has to be said)
Because...when they're both together you can have a chill party. =O

Hell I'll elaborate for Limbo's sake. With Vergil you can expect sophisticated drinks like wine, with Dante you can expect CHUG CHUG CHUG CHUG!

screw wine, i know from experience that demon genocide is done properly by using a laser shooting pogostick and a celebratory champaigne

is that a good thing or a bad thing?
It has a lot to do with how transparent the effort behind the attempt to portray the story is.

Sort of like comparing the smooth transparent and natural edge of Cowboy Bebop to the obvious attempt at the same in Black Lagoon.
As great as the previous games may have been, I was never sold on the world and characters being any more than what they were on the cover of the box- A good time. After seeing the sudden reveal of the true direction of the tone of this game since Captivate, my fear is that with all the pressure from fans to be more like the last two games, the experience with this game will be just more of the same. I'll remember a great time, a fun time, and nothing will stick beyond wanting to get back on the roller coaster again someday.
When black Lagoon ended, I felt nothing of what Cowboy Bebop did to me. Sure it had it's moments, but the levity was missing. I was just watching it, not experiencing it. I want to experience this game. I want to feel it.
I was taken aback when I read Tameem talking about the team exploring this new Dante's life through pictures they illustrated. The part about a scared little boy tearing open his own chest and looking into a bloody mirror with terrified eyes as he sees his still-beating heart and realizing what he isn't... something like that better be in this game.
I hope the next trailer isn't another, "Look at us be more like that craziness you like to see." and a more subdued, internal, darker look at the main character perhaps in the venerable place his outer punk keeps trying to hide. I feel like I know about him, but I don't know HIM.
Next trailer...A narration by Dante, Vergil. Or Sparda, Eva Posthumous message to their sons giving blessings and well wishes on trying to survive in a harsh world like Jor-el did in Superman...maybe?

Oh my friend I am with you on that.

Dont forget that Tameem said "We're not making the game other people want to play, we're making the game what we want to play."

In other words, they're not listening and nodding to every complaint. They are keeping their task THEIR Task.

I like the idea of a game showing why Vergil became cold and obsessed with power like in DMC but with some NT flair.

Except that DmC is an alternate universe and not connected to DMC1-4 meaning there is now two Dantes

So finding out how Vergil became cold in this game would not how he became cold before DMC3

hey i found my new desktop background :D

If I found one with DMC1-4 or with nothing on the top I would use it myself :D

As much as I respect NT's decision to make the game their way and not how a lot of the fans want it, it would have been nice if they said something like:

"We have heard all your ideas about how you would like this game to go but we are sorry to say that we have our own ideas that we are using. A lot/few ideas are good but we have found a direction and are sticking with it. As for though who are worried, we have heard all of your concerns about the direction we are going in and can safely say do not be worried. We would not go in this direction if we did not think it was good or if we could not pull it off."

Instead of getting asked a question about what the fans think in an interview and saying:

"I don't care."

That's why i said NT flair. Dante is still Dante in essence in DmC so i would like to see the same thing with Vergil.

I doubt it since Vergil was never the main contrast it was always about Dante and it still is about Dante
Im not saying make the game about Vergil(if he's in the game) just let him keep his style like Dante has in DmC. I know that they are different people but DmC Dante still has the traits that i like about DMC Dante so i would the same to apply to Vergil if he makes an appearance.

Then he has to be.... Japanese

Because his signature weapon is a katana
That doesnt make him japanese just his sword techniques. Most of the weapons Dante will probably use are from western cutlure. Like the scythe im not sure if that was ever really used as a weapon, i know it was used for farming to cuz wheat and stuff so does that make Dante a farmer?

Sup everyone I just recently join. Normally I never join forums like these but it really shocked me that all the DMC fans here appear to take the new DMC reboot coming out so maturely. Even people who like or hate the game are going on about in a mature and socially acceptable manner. Plus I've recently became a hardcore or softcore DMC fan upon hearing about the news about DmC so I bought the HD Collection & DMC4 about a couple months ago & I really like them a lot(even DMC2 a little bit) & as a new DMC fan I wanted to at least to talk about the series a lot & Youtube isn't much of a great place for that(people there are either idiots or ignore you).

I'm excited for this new Devil may Cry too but I hope the gameplay turns out great like a DMC game and not some Heavenly Sword with DMC on the title.

Well unless they have changed it, the gameplay is running on 30 FPS on Unreal Engine 3. All DMC games before DmC have been run on 60 FPS. From what I seen on the game play video it does not look too bad but it still looks a bit slow and sluggish.

I hope there's a turbo for that. Since the 30FPS could make the character go as fast. If they wanted to, NT could make Dante fight as fast as DMC3 Dante, but only time will tell.

Is there a turbo mode available on past DMC games?
I do recall them bringing up turbo mode in an interview for this game.
