Possibly.

I'm also interested to try doing some Return Cancels from Dissidia with the aerial Evade in DmC. Those became a preeeeeetty big part of that game's combo system :p I'm just curious if it would work here, too.

In Dissidia, if you used a Dodge action you could cancel out of the cooldown of an attack, and sometimes be able to lead into another attack while the opponent was still in hitstun.

Return Cancels were similar, but when you dodged, you would move the analog stick back and forth really quickly during the move, so you'd like...dodge back and forth in one motion. Return Cancels also cut down on the animation frames of the dodge, so you could act sooner than a normal Dodge Cancel.

If I remember correctly, it was discovered when someone tried to do a Turn Cancel, which was when you would dodge to a side of the enemy by sweeping the analog stick (sorta like a down-to-forward fighting game input) to dodge and stay near the enemy at the same time.

These didn't work on the ground, though.

So I'm just curious to see if their mechanic might have a similar feel to it, and if it's possible. I know it's a long shot, but eh...might as well try :p

Well that sounds like it could be possible. See already a new technique that might be possible just because of the innovation of aerial dodges.

So mad I have a 6 hour class on Tuesday. Argh! Of all the schedule changes before Thanksgiving, it had to be for the DmC demo drop date!

Hopefully I could get my fix in the morning if the Live services update. If not, I'll have to wait until after class to play the entire day.

Take the day off, I'm sure you deserve a day at home. :)

I'm waiting for the demo to come out so I can have the final verdict on whether to get this on day 1 or not o_o
