Dante was destined to get white hair in the end, he wouldn't be Dante without it. It symbolises the evolution of this character too with the trials he had to face and into what they made him become. From the rebel who didn't give a ****, to the man who stood up to fight the demon king and wake mankind from their sleep.
I would have prefered to see that in his personality, not that I would care about his hair color.
Fortunately we see that too,but I guess it wouldn't have bring so much bitching if they did it from the start.

Many fans still do care for hair colour since it was pretty iconic for Dante. However, I agree with you about caring more for personality.

I also do care.It would have been a bit more logical for him to have it white since his brother has it too. What was more important was his personality, but changing the hair wasn't a smart move from NT,I think they knew it would angry the fans.

people didnt like the white hair because its iconic.
people liked it because that white hair was what defined the character dante.

his hair could been red, purple, green, black...any colour...and people would feel the same way.

its because its not about hair colour.

What I really wish they'd done was stick with the earlier concept idea I heard about once, where originally Dante was supposed to have that white patch of hair on his head from the start of the game [after getting when his mother died when he was seven] and as the game progressed, more and more patches of his would become white [probably as he got stronger from absorbing devil arms and unlocking his devil trigger.]

If they'd done it like that, maybe instead his devil trigger could've taken on a demonic form at the end of Vergil's fight and that would've been the thing instead Kat had to reason with into not killing Vergil. It probably would've made for a lot more intense scene.
