I don't like it when people use the word fag in such a manner.

It's so nice to meet the real you.
Yet again, jest.

Have fun thinking you've gotten the best of me, if you need me, I'm gonna go remember that we are behind computer screens, and this is an opinion-based debate, so no one is actually getting ANYWHERE.

Ta-ta!

Explain what a "swag fag" is.

We're all dying to know.
Nah, I think I'll just post a link
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Swag Fag

By the way, I go on 4chan, 'fag' is just a common insult for me.

I suggest you stay there. Because that kind of language and attitude is not welcome here.

Wait a minute...

1. Forces his opinion on me
2. makes me angry to the point of losing my composure, only for me to regain it later.
3. goes back to the part where I lost my cool so that he can find one little screw up and use it against me.

...

*runs up and hugs you as a tear comes down my cheek

I missed you, Agility

Also to the both of you this sort of thing has been debated constantly. Make your own opinion on DmC and understand that it should stay as an opinion. Please stop this foolishness and insulting each other.

I'm not your enemy, but right now, all I see is red.

You mean the Raiden that every MGS fan complained was too feminine?

Ok, I think I understand you. So, you saw alot of people complaining about Raiden replacing the beloved Solid Snake in MGS2. You also believe that transitions into what happened to Raiden in MGS4? From what I've seen he'd gained the approval of so many after MGS4. So what you're arguing is a matter of perspective. What I'm arguing is a matter of the direction the character was heading in at the end of MGS4. But when you rage like this I can understand why you'd miss that.
Say what you want about the original Dante, but he was a BELOVED character with a LARGE, LOYAL fanbase, and Tameem, instead of handling replacing such a beloved character like a professional PR man. Practically just screamed.
"LOL THE FANBASE OF THIS GAME THAT IS MORE WELL RECEIVED THAN ANY GAME I'VE MADE, IS STUPID! THE DANTE THAT FANS ACTUALLY LIKED IS A POO-POO HEAD. MY DANTE IS BETTER BECAUSE HE'S MORE WESTERN! " Say what you want about the New Dante, but it takes no time to find that the fanbase is split on him. Meanwhile, almost every DMC fan can say they enjoyed DMC3 and DMC1 Dante

Uh huh uh huh. So, Tameem made you very upset and you couldn't think straight when you heard him dissect what he thought would make a more realistic Dante. I mean, with the backstory Dante has in DmC, how can he still be sane and acceptable? Mad respect for Tameem right there.

Despite the fact that DmC Dante is a foul mouthed little prick who acts nothing like the original, and when it comes down to it, DmC's story was **** in my opinion.

Hmm. Foul mouthed little prick. Have you read the novels and other things the original Dante said in them. If I remember correctly, the story suits his reasoning. for cursing at the demons who tortured him since he was 6. What's Raiden's excuse for using more curse words than Dante? Politicians?

As said above, both characters were butchered. But that wasn't enough for DmC. It had to strip DMC of it's challenging difficulty by making the game as easy as **** on every level of difficulty.

Both characters were butchered? I explained to you how Raiden is an older version of himself since MGS4. It's an actual continuation not an alternate universe like DmC. Tell me, how much time would affect someone's future decisions so dramatically. Now tell me, how an alternate universe with different situations and people would affect a character's re-imagining. If I were in an alternate universe I'm not sure if I'd be a hero or a villain to my friends and family. I'd prefer hero though, because I think that's in my nature. (understand what I'm implying about Dante?)

It had to remove the awesome style system so that NT could pretend they made Heavenly Sword 2. It slowed the gameplay a lot compared to DMC3. At least MGR had the dignity to ACKNOWLEDGE it was not in the same league by giving it self a different name from MGR.
But DmC actually went all out and DARED to claim it was on par with DMC3

So that NT can pretend they made Heavenly Sword 2. How do you even function? So, is the gameplay fun or not? I didn't hear the answer to that.

From what I'm seeing everywhere, DmC is actually really close critically to being on par with the best in the series. It even pushes the series further evolving the gameplay in ways beneficial to the series. To claim it's on par with DMC 3 would be rendered to specifics. Each DMC game has something special about it that brings fans back to it. Which is why the DMC HD collection is still valuable.

Meanwhile, almost every DMC fan can say they enjoyed DMC3 and DMC1 Dante

No. I didn't enjoy DMC 3 Dante. I don't like his mop top, I don't like his personality, and I definitely don't like what he says in the game. If you say he has a corny charm, all you're saying is that he's TRYING HARD TO BE COOL. Only person I can think of that has that charm on purpose is Guy from Naruto.

Let me go tell Capcom Unity that and see what they have to say.

Tell who? People on a different forum who haven't challenged the thread that exploits MGR's writing?

Again, both games were average, but at least MGR didn't PRETEND it was the best game ever.

Where did DmC tell me it was the best game ever? Seriously, WHERE!? If I look at the hack and slash games that came out the year DmC had, I can understand it being crowned king of hack and slash.

Hmm, I know Deadpool said his game was the best game ever, but that's just Deadpool being Deadpool.

And ask any reviewer who isn't PAYED to give a little bump to the rating, they'll say the two games were on par with eachother

So, all of these critics from all over the world have been PAID to bump the game just a little? Well what about the entire community of this forum? I didn't receive a check. Hey Unknown, did you recieve a check from NT or Capcom?

I think....I figured you out...you can't cope with DmC's success even if all Dante's from DMC told you.

You're not so random anymore. See, now you're uninteresting. I don't get PAID enough to defend DmC.

Show's over.

Nice counter to Random there! And I love that pic. It's Reuben saying his two cents on DmC. He's basically saying "Not bad." Then people accuse him of getting paid by Capcom to say it. How can that be so when this is his actual opinion on it, which is the same kind of opinion I hold for DmC?

Although I actually liked DmC, it could've been made better, you know? That was my first status message here in DMC.org.

Be glad DMC3 Dante turned into like DMC1 Dante, though... He is one of my fav three "Dante"s, with DmC Dante on par because they both have a character development which went from "I don't care" to "Now I know what's worth fighting for". But my most fave Dante is DMC1 Dante! :D

Metal gear rising is NOT Metal gear solid. I was never meant to be. It is a hack and slash that takes place in the metal gear universe hence why metal gear is in the name.

Technically it was meant to be Metal Gear Solid, hence it's original project spiel of "Lightning Bolt Action, Metal Gear Solid: Rising". Not until after KojiPro foolishly felt it would be better to change it did it become "Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance".

I am not exactly sure what Raiden's development as a character has to do with what I posted.

I think it's the fact that it both draws on Raiden's previous character development, and then completely sh!ts on it halfway through the game. I like MGR and its depiction of Raiden, but honestly, the game went to great lengths to sorta mess up Raiden's happy ending, and it felt like there were a lot of unresolved issues, especially with Raiden embracing his psychotic side, and most of the rest of the game trying to convince Raiden that it's okay to slaughter people like some audio version of Everybody Poops. It's like it tried to be Spec Ops: The Line, but missed the mark and ended up ruining a resolved character.

Jack the Ripper is back, and it's like...great! That's something you wanna bring home to Rose and Jack.

Thank you so much. I really didn't want type out how upsetting that 180 was.

The thing that ****es me off the most about MGR is that they could replace Raiden with a new character and it'd still get the same scores. It's just another Platinum Games's game. It's sickening.

Like most of us here, I can adapt to change whether it's good or bad. I didn't hold a grudge with the game while playing it, I simply absorbed what was going on and enjoyed what I got. It's their decision to change Raiden again. The damage is done. I just hate that it's not set in an alternate universe. At least then, we'd know MGS's Raiden is secure.

What a boo hoo moment.

Jack the Ripper is back, and it's like...great! That's something you wanna bring home to Rose and Jack.

And like that I'm cheered up.

I had heard some time ago that since it changed from Metal Gear Solid: Rising to Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, that it was also removed from the timeline and exists in an alternate space as a "what if" scenario, much like how Ghost Babel exists in the same time period as Metal Gear Solid was supposed to be.

People have been telling me differently, but...I dunno, for some reason I can't shake that original intention of it being outside of the timeline as a "what-if" game, like I had heard.

It'd be nice. I want to be believe that so much.

Why must you throw gasoline on a fire that it already too big?

Notice how MGS is called Tactical Espionge Action:Metal Gear Solid and MGR was Lightning Blot Action. I believe that they did everything to try and get players to understand that it was in no way meant to be treated as a Metal Gear Solid game and instead it's own chapter of Metal Gear.

I didn't really care much for Raiden's split personality. But Kojima is thinking of a possibly sequel and I am sure that he will return to his happy self. But again if there is a sequel just please use the FOX engine. I am sure they want to keep the game as a hack and slash but I think the Fox engine will help to better relate it to a game that feels a bit more Metal Gear. But speaking of Raiden's personality I would like if we could see it more deeply in a possible future rising game.

Despite a troubled past Raiden is kind of a Nerd. He loves to watch movies, has an interest in samurai and japanese history, and seems to know a decent amount of technology (at least I hope so since like 90% of his body is technology). I think it would be kind of funny to see him break away from the bada** ninja once in awhile.
