Does ANYONE here respect each others opinions!?
And that goes for everyone in this thread
. INCLUDING ME!

The odd thing about what you quoted is it's me waving away someone's opinion that they're using as some sort of factual basis for what's better or worse. I say "who gives a sh!t" because it doesn't matter what's better or worse, especially if it's charged by bias.

Oh please, you guys think THIS is bad, I sometimes wonder how new members here would've put up with Agility and CoolDemon

Capcom is a business and in a business sales are EVERYTHING. If you don't sell well than your business starts to go down. Capcom has been making many AAA games lately that haven't been turning a good profit so they need games that bring in sales. Also a few years ago Activision shut down Radical Entertainment cause the sale were not meeting expectations. Sales are becoming very relevant in the industry.

Well yeah, that's business, but people keep using sales as some sort of basis for saying whether a product, especially games, are good or bad, when we all know in our heart of hearts that a game's quality is not based on how many people buy and play it.

I also wouldn't bring up Activision, since...well, their business MO is to buy up smaller studios, milk their IPs to death, and then shut them down when they're annualized and milked IPs are no longer relevant

In terms of DMC3 and 4 styles is what makes it different. When I say just Rebellion I mean that I didn't use ANYTHING but Rebellion besides the standard dodge. No guns, no angel or demon dodges, just rebellion.

Again - Combat Adjudicators in DMC3.

However, it's not like DmC having a more lenient ranking system means anything. It's literally just a system that pats you on the back and gives you more currency for being aggressive and not getting hit.

Also it's not just about risk. It's about the player put more input to the game than just hitting a single button constantly.

What is this aversion to having simplicity in a game's controls where it could work? OppWri has a point, too. In MGR circle is a wasted button, just as it is in DMC1 (HD), and could be used for a Parry function. I really don't see why it's such a bad thing to have one button for an input instead of more, especially when there's a button pretty much going unused.

You're gonna have to explain this to me.

Mapping it to one button would call for a type of cooldown. A cool down for something basic like a parry would go against the idea of Lighting Bolt Action.

How does having a Parry with a cooldown go against the Lightning Bolt Action when the idea of giving it a cooldown is to emphasize not using it unless you're in a situation that you need to.

Although I think you might be getting confused, because when I saw "cooldown" I only mean on a whiff. On successful parries there is no cooldown, and you can immediately go on the offensive, essentially a successful parry places you back into a neutral stance, while a Just parry would offer that staggering counter.

And yet it continues......

Okay...don't answer my actual questions I was curious about...thanks for the discussion :/

I would but the cycle would just continue. Also I am pretty tired. What's the point in replying just to have more people to flock to this thread in order to spout the same sh@% that has been said time and time again. I meant only to give my thoughts not get caught up in this thread again which was clearly a mistake. So I bid you goodbye for now.

Key to beating Rising.

Dodge attack
Parry.
Mash buttons.

It's that simple.

Don't worry if you have no skills in hack and slash games, just press any combination of buttons and Raiden will do the rest. No need to think about anything, but little flashing yellow lights.

This is why I always start my games are their hardest difficulty. At least the inferior AI will land a cheap shot or two due to the worthless camera system. Also, where's the innovation in MGR?

How can you be a contender for game of the year when you don't even push the genre in the right direction?

I know I'm not helping the off-topicness going around in this thread, but:
1) that's the most awesome GIF ever
and
2) is that the Riddler chilling out in the background while Batman gets down? XD *thinks a Batman dance party would be awesome*

Adam West was the best batman ever.
I don't care what y'all say, I love dancing batman.:woot:

I really like the game, and I still replay it with joy and will continue to do so long after people praising MGR forget it ever existed. But it's been painful to see people trying to elevate this to something it wasn't, just for an imaginary rivalry with the DMC reboot.
100% agree with this, I bought MGR first day it went on Sale on PC, because I like good action games, and while I like some things about it a lot, First metal gear fight, Sam Boss Fight, the act of parrying, etc, their are so many flaws and poor design decisions that make it less fun and varied than it could have been. If they had placed parry on a separate button with the same requirements, and cancelability, it would have allowed platinum to make fights be more than just nail perfect parry zandatsu. I also wish their was less bullshit and just a cool world with arenas to fight enemies, the stealth sequences with the braindead AI are so stupid and pointless. I wish you could choose to replay specific parts that you didn't' S rank, since you can do replay checkpoints to get the right rank during a missions. And lastly, I wish we didn't have to watch the goddamn credits every time we beat the game, seriously, Platinum chill out with the ego.

On a side note, I just S ranked on Very Hard, no damage Sam, and I will give Platinum much love for that fight. It's extremely satisfying even though I still hate the parry input, its just not ideal to have to rapid fire the stick + attack. I rather you just took damage on a bad block but the input was on a sep button which kept raiden neutral and didn't make him run towards enemies.

So many pointless posts in this thread and I will never get the time back that I wasted having to read them all. I highly suggest that Chancey and mrrandomlulz add either other to their ignore list. If I see any more traded insults clogging up threads between you two then warnings shall be handed out like confetti. Goes for anyone else who wants to waste any more of my time too.
