It doesn't scare me either. I'm really hard to scare though because being such an avid horror fan I'm more in love with the horror element than scared of it.
It's a zombie game where you have to try and survive in this post apocalyptic world. Sounds pretty survival horrorish when you get right down to it.
Action adventure/ Survival horror is actually what they officially put it under anyway if you look it up.

On top of that, despite NEITHER of the games being able to hold a candle to their predecessors, MGR, the one that was a great game despite slight rushing, and only was the first step in a spin-off series in the same continuity of MGS. is worse than the game that nerfed the gameplay of a series beloved for it's gameplay. So that the gameplay can fit it's ****ty story?
At least MGR has the excuse of TRYING to hold a candle to the games that came before it. DmC was disappointing BECAUSE IT SACRIFICED GAMEPLAY FOR STORY!
And even if MGR didn't hold a candle to MGS in terms of Boss Battles. MGR's boss battles are WAY MORE FUN THAN DmC's.
So all in all, my opinion of your argument is the following image

I never said I hated MGR. It's still an all right game that I can have some hack n slashy fun with but, I care more about Metal Gear than Devil May Cry so I expected more and what I got was disappointment. MGR is all style and no substance with some lazy level design, bad characters, and like I said Ninja Gaiden with Metal Gear wallpaper in a nut shell. And Ninja Gaiden is still more fun to play.
And quit acting like DmC nerfed to ridiculous extents because it really didn't. Oh no it's missing taunts and a few more moves. It's still a combat that's head and shoulders above most action games and has quite a bit of depth. Just watch our fellow member Sam D for proof.
I'm not getting in to this bs though. It still stands that DmC was a strong game on its own merit severely underrated. While still not my favorite in the franchise, it still did some cool things and fixed stuff that was wrong with DMC. And also it was a lot of fun to play which really matters at the end of the day.

Nice opinion you're mistaking as fact.
-I believe MGR is the complete opposite of what Metal Gear Solid is and I have evidence to back up my claim that it's there for action junkies to get a fix. Did you not notice the loads of F bombs in the game? That's nothing Metal Gear. How about the lack of stealth? That's not like Metal Gear. The protagonist is a cyborg ninja with a foul mouth, and a split personality (that doesn't count as character development.) That's not Metal Gear Solid's Raiden. Disappointed in MGR yet? It's a fan-fiction. You like a fan-fiction.
Now only argument you have is if it's fan fiction or not.
-If you won't accept MGR as a fan-fiction then alright. It's a game with Metal Gear stamped on it. You can't say it's a Metal Gear Solid game or anything like them. It's a disappointment. If they would've kept up with the class Metal Gear Solid had, kept Raiden like he was, and had stealth in the game. Then it would've hit the mark to even be considered something besides a pick up, play, and throwaway game.
Now only argument you have is if we can judge it for what it is. In which Chauncy would soon tell you.
On top of it all. Does it look like Raiden's going to be like MGR Raiden in Phantom Pain?
-So let's not talk about beloved gameplay and which games hurt their series franchises the most. Because having your protagonist do a 180 like that is death on arrival.
The fate of Raiden is what everyone thought the fate of Dante was going to be in DmC.
-Consider the war between MGR and DmC a huge mindf***.
With all that being said and the people of the forum speaking. The most preferable action adventure is DmC.
-If you go outside of this forum, you'd find DmC takes the award in other categories MGR could've won.

You mean the Raiden that every MGS fan complained was too feminine? Say what you want about the original Dante, but he was a BELOVED character with a LARGE, LOYAL fanbase, and Tameem, instead of handling replacing such a beloved character like a professional PR man. Practically just screamed.

At least MGR had the dignity to ACKNOWLEDGE it was not in the same league by giving it self a different name from MGR.
But DmC actually went all out and DARED to claim it was on par with DMC3

I OWN both games, have PLAYED both games, and I can see the areas where DmC is inferior

I don't get why people don't understand this. Metal gear rising is NOT Metal gear solid. I was never meant to be. It is a hack and slash that takes place in the metal gear universe hence why metal gear is in the name. If you were expecting metal gear solid then that is your fault. It was made pretty clear in their advertising that it would be very different.

Ok, I think I understand you. So, you saw alot of people complaining about Raiden replacing the beloved Solid Snake in MGS2. You also believe that transitions into what happened to Raiden in MGS4? From what I've seen he'd gained the approval of so many after MGS4. So what you're arguing is a matter of perspective. What I'm arguing is a matter of the direction the character was heading in at the end of MGS4. But when you rage like this I can understand why you'd miss that.

Tell me, how much time would affect someone's future decisions so dramatically. Now tell me, how an alternate universe with different situations and people would affect a character's re-imagining. If I were in an alternate universe I'm not sure if I'd be a hero or a villain to my friends and family. I'd prefer hero though, because I think that's in my nature. (understand what I'm implying about Dante?)

It even pushes the series further evolving the gameplay in ways beneficial to the series. To claim it's on par with DMC 3 would be rendered to specifics. Each DMC game has something special about it that brings fans back to it. Which is why the DMC HD collection is still valuable.

No. I didn't enjoy DMC 3 Dante. I don't like his mop top, I don't like his personality, and I definitely don't like what he says in the game. If you say he has a corny charm, all you're saying is that he's TRYING HARD TO BE COOL. Only person I can think of that has that charm on purpose is Guy from Naruto.

And yes, I AM mad that my favorite character is getting replaced with a swag fag who couldn't come up with a decent one liner for the life of him, and who's game is INFERIOR according to the vast majority of the fan base
