1 that is 4 words and 2 I personally don't feel he was a emo heroin addict but I called him that because that is how everyone referred to him.

Whoops, for some reason I thought of "name is" as a contraction in my head >.< I just woke up. LEAVE ME ALONE!

That's all? Yeah, I wouldn't think "ass" and flippin someone off are entirely vulgar. And I don't remember hearing f*ck with the Alto Angelos. Granted, I barely use Buster, let alone DT Busters. I am now intrigued and wish to play to hear it myself!

EDIT: I've been using Buster on Angelos for a bit now, and I haven't heard f*ck once :/ I've heard something that sounds like it could vaguely be interpreted as it, but he's said that elsewhere, and it just isn't actually "f*ck."

Likewise, there also isn't a "Strong Language" tag on the game's ESRB rating (just Language), which all games that use "f*ck" get. The developer also has to be extremely candid about their game's content when it's sent to the ESRB for a rating...there's hefty consequences for trying to slip stuff past the ESRB :x

I'm pretty sure Nero is saying F*ck You.

If the video doesn't play, click the Youtube button on the video so you can actually watch it on Youtube. The video is set as unlisted so there might cause problems trying to play the video here.

It actually sounds like "Rock you" to me...

Plus, there's the whole ESRB rating thing. Oh well, whatever.

Fair enough. But it wasn't a part of the debris either. Put it on full screen. Download it off of youtube so that you can see it for yourself. Firefox has an add-on you can download for that.

I mean, you don't have to, but if you want to see it for yourself, maybe that's the best way to see it.

Uh, just one last thing on the rock (sorry, but it really started to bother me now D: ).
I re-watched the video, frame by frame again, and I still think it really is a rock. When Dante touches the wall behind him, some rocks or paper start flying off, and in his direction when he jumps away. And the Vergil-rock-paper-UFO is still visible a few frames after the one I put up, without falling down any further. If it was Vergil, you'd see him falling downwards, but since this thing seems to just stay were it is, it's more likely to be a rock/piece of paper :/
I really don't think that NT put a lot of thought into it; they would've probably never even dreamed of the fans over-interpreting it so much! You should also take into account that it is the very first trailer and that they probably showed almost everything that was there of the game at that time, since they had only barely started developing it.

'K onward to something else (>.>)
I've actually got a question...
Why does the cursing bother people that much? I mean, I'm really not a person to use a lot of bad language, I even try to avoid doing so, but I honestly never saw a problem with Dante or anybody else in DmC using it :/
Not to mention that the cursing in Suda51's games is much worse if I remember correctly...?
idk, but is that just some kinda American mentality of sorts? Like, as much as I know, cursing on TV was forbidden until some time ago in America, is that right?

From what I've seen, people think that by there being excessive swearing, it's DmC trying to be "edgy," and "cool." This really isn't the case though. Suda51 games are a great example of (sometimes) excessive and needless swearing, and it all comes back to trying to find a reason to slam the game.

I honestly don't know why. I'm sure that, with some, it's just something else to nit-pick about, but not for everyone. I just know that it doesn't bother me. That could be because I've watched movies with worse language and content, so this game seems tame compared to them. Though it is pretty ironic that some of the people complaining about Dante's cursing are just as bad or worse.

Guess it's just people trying to find a reason to dislike the game or who just don't want it in a DMC game then :/
I always thought of it being quite realistic, rather then "edgy&cool", because, like, you'd hear people swear all of the time in real life, wouldn't you? And it's not like I'm from somewhere with low social standarts or anything, and there are still so many people saying F-You, sometimes in a joking way even.
But yeah, Suda games overdo it a little at times (>.>); But I love'em anyway xD

I never could understand why people got so upset over Dante and Poison having their F-you war. Didn't they ever cuss at their friends just for fun? I know my past friends and I used to do that all the time. It was one way we teased each other. Or did I just have an odd life as a teen?

I dislike it because I'm just not that fond of swearing.

And it's not like I want to hate it either. It's just I find it unnecessary half of the time when Dante does swear in the demo.

I get that he has nothing to live for, which is why he doesn't care about anything at the moment.
I get that this is a completely new DmC, you don't need to try and rationalize it to me.
But I just don't like it. It's just my opinion.

Also, I don't like to swear myself. Mainly because I was raised to be a civil person.

Nah, many people do that, don't worry there's noting odd about it ;)
I really don't understand it either :/ I mean, F-You was said mostly by Poison anyway, and there are people who curse more than othere in real life too, so what's so bad about it? Dante only said it once in that fight, I think? And I always felt like he was just mocking her, you know, like a child that would just repeat after their parents or someone else to tick them off xD

I think the swearing is only a problem with some people because previously in DMC games it had little to no swearing at all. and I believe they feel like DMC never needed it in the first place. I don't really care. actually I think its better that way because it is.a mature game and I thought the other DMC games could have been rated even lower like a teen rating.

I can understand that some people are offended by bad language, my parents are two people like that, but they also try to avoid it themselves. Since there was some cussing in at least 4, and I think some in the books. I know there was some in the anime, it really doesn't make sense that they'd get so angry about it in this.

Like you I just saw the scene with poison as Dante mocking her. He was having fun and kind of taunting her with it. That was pretty obvious with everything he said before the fight, and how he was dodging her.

And see, there's nothing wrong with that.

The bigger problem is the people who cite the swearing as a huge focal point for the game not being good.

And that's the problem, they keep looking at it as if the swearing was placed in there because NT felt it needed swearing. They're making up their own idea of what they think NT is doing, and getting themselves riled up because of it.

That's part of what I mean by "contrived bullshit" whenever I bring that up. Most of the time, a lot of what people are getting angry at is stuff they misinterpret, misconstrue, or flat-out make up, and it's just dumb >.<

Hmm, I see.
Guess swearing is just part of his personality, though, it doesn't really need to be necessary just to be there.
But yeah, I understand your point and respect your opinion, I'm not fond of swearing either, but I'm usually just like "too each their own".

Swearing just seems to fit into the world of DmC in a way, I guess, it's more realistic...
And gotta agree on the rating thing, I mean, I'm usually a person who takes age ratings rather serious when giving games to others, but I even allowed a 12-year old to play DMC3... not to mention that I started playing when I was 14 :P

Yeah, bad language is there to offend, after all. But people are really just making to big of a fuss about it in this case :/ And it comes off as incredebly hypoctitical when they're using curses themselfes when complaining about it.

I actually really enjoyed the interaction between Dante and Poison because of this, since it seemed like everything he did was just to mock her even further... like when you jump to another platform and he' just like "I'm over here, sweetie!" xD

Dante did have a lot of great lines in that fight, but everyone ignores them :C

"I'm your prom date (you ugly sack of sh*t!)"
"I'm over here, sweetie!"
"You like it when I hit on you?"
"Nice nails, let me cut 'em for you!"
"Shiiiiiiit~ I'm outta here!"
"You're dumped."

Plus all the "Dante the demon killer yadda yadda." Out of their entire exchange, "f*ck you" is only uttered once by him.

"You like it when I hit on you?"
.
Wow, never heard that one, but omigosh, it's awesome xD
But yeah, it really is just so unfair! :C People would always use that little F-you exchange that lasted for like, what, 5 seconds? and use it to "proove" that DmC has bad writing. But seriously, looking at the things you just listed, I actually like to think that it has pretty damn good writing :/
And it makes me look forward to the other bosses! :D

Yeah, four seconds of "F*ck you" in a thirteen hour game is apparently the mark of pure garbage for some people :P
Even still, so what? Dante swears because he's a new Dante. Look at the new Spiderman, younger, different hairstyle, MUCH cockier Spiderman and new suit. Replace Spiderman and we have a new Dante.
has the term "reboot" lost all meaning now?

Hmm, I see.

lol. I actually wasn't that willing to let my 12-year-old nephew play any of the DMC games because of the content in most of them. I'd probably let him play the first, but the others are more iffy for me. I think I started playing games younger than that, which doesn't really matter since I grew up with Mario. I Maybe the worst, that we had, was Turok and Doom--which we only had the demo for. I don't think I'd let him play those, either.

I don't remember hearing that line. lol. I'll have to play the demo again. I'm going to have that fight memorized so much that I'll be able to say everything with him when I finally play the whole game.

Oh, I meant I started playing DMC when I was 14; I played videogames in general since... pretty much always, I think?
Well, it really depends on the kid if I'd give them DMC or not, and she only played the first two missions, I think :P Not sure what's iffy for you, but if you mean the implied sexual content... well, we're a little less strict with that kinda stuff in Germany, as far as I know xD
