Again you say this, and still try to claim to be a core/majority of DMC fans. I'm sorry, but you're simply not.

If you were, then the game would have sold much better, and fans would have ignored the HD remakes. Sales just don't back your opinion up as being part of the majority view.
Sales...these sales aren't so good for the HD remake.

I really don't see the problem. So they tried a reboot...who cares? So it didn't sell as they expected, not our problem unless we are in the employ of Capcom or NT.

DMC5: The solution to all of life's problems.

True story.
And if they do not get this solution, they will throw themselves off tall buildings in despair because DMC is their whole life.:troll:
It's like the nutty Game Of Thrones fans who sent death threats to George R Martin because he killed off Kahl Drogo:blink:
It's just a book/ TV show, not your whole life. Anyone who gets so overly serious about this kind of thing...I don't know what to say...:/

Ho now! Nobody likes aliens in their reboots, if the outrage from Michael Bay's Ninja Turtles is any indication.

Even though the context of aliens in the movie was totally misinterpreted >_<
But then, it really would be like that They Live film.:P

I think I need to get the updated DMC Fan manual you're getting this info from, because I've totally gotta recheck all the points that would make me that "core DMC fan."

Wait...so...somehow I was the savior of DmC all along? Sh!t...I really dropped the ball on that one huh...?

But seriously, how does my being a DMC fan have any more influence on DmC's success than it already did? Was I supposed to buy multiple copies of DmC? And why should people ignore the HD collection? That thing is sweet! I bought it, too. DMC1 with proper DMC controls YEAH~

Ohp, SALES!

No, I'm telling you. Give DMC5 to Platinum games, have them also bring in people from DMC3/4.

Pretty much every core/majority fan of DMC will in unison achieve nerdgasms of epic proportions. Frankly, we'll completely forget that DmC was even a thing. Hell, we might even forgive Tameem himself for acting like a complete tool.
Telling me...
Is that a veiled threat or a direct one?:troll:

Anyway, handing it over to PG is not going to happen and asking for the DMC3/ 4 people is even more into the realm of fantasy.

This is why video game fans have a bad image. Bunch of geeks 'nerdgazoming' who get too serious and argue over a game that is a niche following at best.

And I really don't think Tameem wants forgiveness. He's moved on...something we should all do.

DMC HD sold 570k units, DmC sold 1.1M.

Not sure how you consider almost half of what DmC made-with all the hype from reviewers and columnists, for games that have already been released for years not good. If anything, this would further show just how badly DmC has done in comparison to past games.

Hey, I'm just giving you the reality of the DMC series fate. Capcom can either get it together, or the majority of fans will move on to other games.

We'll be just fine with DMC HD and whatever else Platinum games is coming out with. So, no loss for us.

Who cares:lol: Lighten up, it's just a game. There's more to life than sitting at home on a console and whining about it.

Like we don't know sales were bad compared to the target. Is this new news or something to you? Have we all been under a rock?:P
If you want to talk about your DMC PG fantasy, there is a thread for that over in the DMC general section. It's pretty interesting.

Anyway, all that should matter is that people have fun with games. All this bickering is reducing the gaming fandom into a bunch of overgrown children who can't get along. You don't like DmC, fine, but don't go throwing around terms like 'core fan' just because someone happened to enjoy DmC. That is being childish.

With all that said:

I have to ask. Did you actually play DMC? Because it really seems like you just wrote it off without even giving it a shot. I may be wrong. But that's the vibe I'm getting.

There's no such thing as "just a game," this is quite serious business. The business of money that Capcom's losing out on until they get it together.

If Capcom is such a terrible company for making DmC as you are pointing out, along with how you want DMC5 to go to PG, then surely Capcom going out of business for the audacity to make DmC should be a just punishment in your eyes.

Unless you are personally involved or invested in Capcom in any way, then I really don't see the big deal. Capcom sinks...Capcom floats...the world keeps on turning and the sky will not fall.
And if it does sink, then it will open up its manopoly of gaming to other smaller companies...you know, like a circle of life thing, and, bonus, Capcom will have no choice but to sign over DMC rights to PG, so you would get your fantasy coming true.

So in the face of some numbers showing that something didn't sell as well as DmC you...say...that it doesn't matter? That the product with the lower numbers is still better than the one with more numbers...? I thought you said sales were everything - and you kept saying that the sales of DMC HD were showed that people cared more about it than DmC; which personally I find funny because it's not like it's possible for people (like myself) to buy both DMC HD and DmC. Nope, nuh-uh, no way. If you buy one, the other one leaves your dimension of perception.

I find you lack of consistency disturbing.

This is another argument I tend to find from defenders and certain reviewers/columnists who praise this game. They always assume that anyone making valid criticisms about the game are "haters" who've "never played the game."

Right, DmC sold less than DMC1, 2, 3, 4, and only sold 500k units more than the HD remake entirely because everyone one of the core/majority fans didn't actually play the game.

Cmon' now man, fix your vibe.

I like how you avoided the question.

But seriously, chill. You come across as hostile and the mods don't play that around here.

And you really didn't give any proper criticism that I saw. All I saw were a unspecific claims of DmC "not being as good as the classics" and then your magical SALES!

Actually DMC was on par with the sales of Devil may cry 1. Did a little bit better actually. they sold 1.2 million copies. and that wasn't counting PC because people don't collect those numbers due to the boogeyman of piracy.

The sales figures weren't that bad for what has always been a niche game.

And yes. It is a valid criticism. If you have never played the game, then you aren't in a position to weigh in on it's merits.
