My opinion being majority opinion comes from the sales numbers. Frankly, I think most of us would rather DMC series just die than continue to suffer under NT.

We just explained that the sales numbers don't necessarily reflect all of that. And even if it did, 1.1. million is enough for DmC to get a sequel and thrive, I think.

I'd rather let it die, too. Sadly, that's not Capcom's or Ninja Theory's view.

Especially when you should also take into account that a lot of games are bought as presents, so it might not reflect how much people liked it - it just reflects how many people thought it would be a good product - whether it's to gift or anything else.

There's also just the fact that because used game retail is so huge now, no game will ever really meet those same numbers, even though technically a game will still reach as many, if not more players as they used to.

I mean, c'mon, used gaming has HUGE impact on sales, to the point where publishers are trying to actively fight against it with season passes, DLC, and DRM!

Because the majority of fans like myself will see to it that DmC doesn't do as well as Classic DMC, that's why. Because we all made it a point not to support this game, and we made it a point to support the HD remakes. DMC3 did well enough for its time, gave us the best combat up to that point-even compared to many games today, and gave DMC4 the amazing combat that is still enjoyed by fans to this day. Not to mention that amazing 2M+ sales. DmC will never get close to that, the fans will see to it.

Ah, okay. It all makes sense now, you're one of the exact people I've been citing as the reason why DmC gets the raw deal it does. So nice of you to drop your "I'm not even hating" act and come clean.

You probably shouldn't be too surprised if we never see a classic DMC again, since Capcom pretty much declared it a lost cause when they started DmC's development to legitimately try and garner some general interest for the genre again.

You could also maybe thank DmC for some of the HD collections sales, since I've seen quite a few people pop in to my store to buy the HD collection talking about how much fun they had with DmC, and wanting to get more of that gameplay.

Either way, though, your precious sales figures don't mean jack, guy...

And no opinion from anyone is really going to have any affect on anything. Better, worse, who gives a sh!t? You guys and your little crusade against DmC might have prevented the franchise from ever going anywhere. Be happy with your Pyrrhic victory while you continue to live in the past where you wished DMC stayed the same yet still somehow had numerous installments to keep the franchise going.

So...uh...

Platinum games understands Classic DMC because there are members of it who were involved with it. They know how to make a solid combat system, as the vast majority of DMC fans would agree, hence the reason we want Platinum games to make DMC5. MGR and Bayonetta have incredible gameplay, way better than DmC. It's not even a comparison, in our majority opinion.

So I mean yeah, drop NT and this silly reboot. Give DMC5 to Platinum games or continue to suffer mediocre sales.

Yeah, you're sounding extremely irrational and selfish now. If you don't like DmC and wish that DMC series would die if you don't get exactly what you wanted, you're not someone anyone should take seriously. How about you appreciate the hack and slash games from Platinum games then? Just let it go. Obviously, this is more of an issue you have with Ninja Theory as a studio than with their actual work on the game.

Also, Platinum games didn't work on DMC4, which you think has the best combat system, so why should Platinum games get it?

There ya go, slugger.

That doesn't mean I agree with DmC or any sequel to it. I don't find it a good thing that people leave these games and find others to play. What DMC needs is to be itself, and be played by as many people as possible, not being morphed into something completely different. Anyway, moving on is the best thing to do, probably.

That's funny, considering the only proponent of DMC's dev team that exists in Platinum is like...Kamiya and a handful of other people he took with him from Clover.

Y'know where the team that develops DMC games is right now? Back at Capcom...they made DMC2-4, and oversaw DmC's development.

I agree, but the time to say 'no' to DmC has passed. People said no, and the game still made... what was it, 1.1. million? That's not terrible. I agree that gameplay like that of Bayonetta and DMC4 is better than that of DmC, but Capcom really doesn't care. It's only the hardcore fans who still remember DMC4's gameplay and find gameplay the most important part of the games who think the way you (and arguably me) do. That's sad, but life's sad sometimes. Just find a new game.
It's absolutely terrible. To begin with, DmC had all those BS reviewers giving the game unwarranted praise. There were even big name columnists putting the majority of DMC fans down for bashing on this game. DmC had the most amazing hype I've seen from just about any current game from reviewers, and all of it meant nothing.

The game still sold less than a DMC3-a game that came out in 2005, that didn't have nearly the same amount of press.

That's a damn shame and nothing for Capcom to be proud of, which they aren't. So yeah, they'll either get the message or lose more money.

I don't know if you can qualify 'not supporting a game' as hating. That would mean I hate Assassin's Creed and all other games I don't buy, too. I don't.

That's something I'll have to disagree on, as Capcom has said it's listened well to what people thought of Resident Evil 6, and will be changing the series accordingly

Like I've said, kick NT out of the equation entirely. Give 100% control to Platinum games and let them take the people from DMC3/4 that they want. Though they'd be perfectly capable of making a solid DMC5 game on their own.

Capcom can either listen or keep losing money. It's their loss either way.

I'm not going to address anything about journalists talking about the fanbase, but maybe you should get it through your pointy little head that DmC may have deserved the praise it got simply for being an entertaining game...

I guess this is what you'd like to say to those reviewers;

Welp, I'm done here. Godhand here can't seem to grasp a simple concept to save his life, so there's no helping ignorance at its highest.

So I be's gone.

THIIIIIIIIIIIIINGS

There's "just not buying a game" and then there's "making sure a game doesn't sell well," as he put it.

And I just mean no opinion is going to change what's already happened. Bein' all p!ssy about a game that released like nine months ago and literally had absolutely no intended ill-effect on the franchise is pointless :/

You might do well to give up on that "Platinum making DMC5" dream, champ. Capcom's head honchos don't seem too keen on letting their former employees touch their IPs. Maybe it ten years or so...

Context my friend, context. It was "entertaining" to reviewers and the newer audience, but it was far from entertaining for the core/majority of DMC fans, hence the reason those reviews didn't save the game from selling less than a game from 2005(DMC3).

That's fine, hey it's their money to lose. They can do whatever they want with DMC, I'll just avoid it along with the majority of DMC fans.
