I'm going to go with Dante just because I never liked that Vergil. He's so lame and boooooooooring.
Me too. I think Vergil is pretty animeish and very ugly. Who has white hair.

And because i think all of this - it must be a fact that my dislike equals to = Vergil being weak.

Black hair > packs more punch than > White hair.

Hmm well Vergil is half demon/human and Dmc Dante is half demon/angel like Jin Kazama from Tekken..soo I'm going to have to say that Dmc Dante would win...sorry Vergil I really wanted to pick you.. :'(

Hahaha! I like the cut of your jib. Yeah, you have to look at it that way. TwoxAcross himself said that if DmC Dante could punch skyscraper-sized monsters and stop time, then all he would need to do is land just one blow against Vergil.

I still don't have a definitive answer myself, so I'll just remain undecided for now.

This just means that the both of us are unbiased seeing as how we can see past our fanbases and really get to the heart of the matter.

Edit:

Black hair > packs more punch than > White hair.

Sarcasm? Sarcasm.

Um..DMC3 Vergil maybe cold hearted but he's is far from ugly, he's sexier than DmC Dante and haha...Vergil..ugh I can't stomach to see him as the same person.. >_< buugh! *Hank Hill*

That means 2 different things in these canons.

Its like comparing what it would be to be a Angel in Supernatural tv series to the Charmed tv series.

2 completely different power levels.

So I don't really get that logic.

It would be best to use what has been SHOWN between the 2 rather than simply saying that because 1 is part Angel makes him stronger.

That being said, not trying to challenge your opinion, just trying to change your "black and white" view on character battles.

Tell you what, based on what has been SHOWN, which would win a fight?

This kind of post really does take the fun out of battle threads.

I know as someone who has participated in many around the web.

Just saying your going with who you like BETTER as opposed to giving reasons WHY they would win a fight adds nothing.

Come on Chancey, I know you are better than that.

I have not seen 1 person say that Vergil would win because DmC Dante is lame or boring.

Well I never played or seen it in action before so I just figured a hybrid would win. And I've never been good at seeing the pros and the cons of character vs. so I just go off of what sounds like it would be right. Cause a demon and an angel both have God-like powers.

But I guess I would go off of what I know and that Vergil would win

yea but as I said the angel part is very ambiguous since we do not know what that would factor into considering angels could very well not mean all that much of a powerboost.

We have not seen them in action after all.

If this was in the same universe I could understand, but its not.

wait, what do you mean you have not "seen it in action"?

Have you not played DmC or DMC3?

If not then simply search some videos about the respective characters on youtube and then form a opinion on it.

Thats what I do when I come to a battle thread and do not know the pros and cons of a characters.

Either that or I just leave it alone lol.

I have played DMC1-DMC4 but not the new one

Alright fine. If I would compare DmC's Dante to any with skills and such to the original series then he's most like DMC 3's version of Dante. Not yet perfected his craft but has enough experience to hold his own. I'm guess they're pretty much the same right? It's not like we have some scouter to analyze some kind of power level or something. Vergil seems pretty similar to his DmC counterpart as well. So, if DmC Dante can beat Vergil in DmC then I'm pretty sure he can also beat the DMC counterpart.

Plus, DmC's version has some different perks and I'm thinking it might come in to play. Being half angel, half demon has got to count for something than just being half human half demon. That could be like doubling your supernatural power level I guess. So, I would still lean towards DmC's Dante. Vergil might be looking for power and all but he lost to both Dante and Mundus. Dante beat both of them in DmC.

I never said I didn't like Vergil because of how he looks. I don't like Vergil because I think he's just a very boring and one dimensional character who really couldn't fill a more generic spot in the game. I don't give a sh!t about hair. You make it real hard for me to think that a bunch of complaining doesn't just come from something as trivial as cosmetics if that's all you mentioned. :/

You think anyone around here gives a s*** about that?

Besides, I had already written about this before. It's something that they just don't wanna hear.

Read this if you have time to do so.

DMC Dante and Vergil seem to demonstrate a higher level of ability than their DmC equivalents do at the same age. at the very least they seem to be more durable

DMC Mundus is definitely far stronger than his DmC equivalent.
1. DmC Mundus is a mortal made immortal by the power of the hellgate, DMC Mundus is just naturally immortal.
2. DmC Mundus makes children the normal way, DMC Mundus casually creates sentient beings with free will.
3. DmC Mundus prepares for battle by creating a giant out of nearby debris. DMC Mundus prepares for battle by creating what appears to be another universe to be the battlefield.
4. DmC Mundus is an idiot with a god complex, DMC Mundus is basically a god.

then you have to consider that DmC Sparda and DmC Eva together were unable to defeat the weaker DmC Mundus but DMC Sparda alone was able to defeat the godlike DMC Mundus which provides a very good reason why being half DMC Sparda and half human would result in more power than being half DmC Sparda and half DmC Eva.

This is the best perspective ive seen well said dude you are spot on

Look.

Here is my final opinion on the matter.

DmC Dante has surpassed DMC Vergil in terms of raw and untapped power. His potential is amazing and untapped, unrefined. However DMC Vergil has refined his abilities and is very precise. But if you give DmC Dante some time to wrestle with his powers, there is no doubt in my mind that says that Dante couldn't be DMC Vergil's equal. I'm not saying that DmC Dante would "outright smash him", I'm just saying that I truly believe that Dante could be and probably will be Vergil's equal. We also have to keep in mind that Vergil has basically placed a limit on his own power, he refuses to accept his human blood. By not accepting the other half of himself, he can't reach his full potential. And with the pompous and arrogant attitude of Vergil, I don't ever see that happening.

Well considering the fact that Vergil is dead....I doubt I see that happening.

Nero surpassed DMC Dante in terms of raw power and untapped potential. Dante still wiped the floor with that kid without trying.

As quoted by Goku "What good is it in having this much power if I can't hit my opponent."

Vergil still outclasses Dante in terms of raw speed (in both his movement and attack speed) and teleportation abilities.

Lets not forget pure swordsmen skills, Vergil still owns and though both Vergil's have displayed similar abilities DMC Vergil outclasses his DmC counterpart in both speed and skill. DmC Vergil in terms of cutscenes have shown subpar swordsmenship. In real life he would be very impressive but DMC Vergil have displayed well impossible or over exaggerated swordsmenship feats.

Yeah DmC Dante could surpass Vergil (I mean COULD...not WILL but could) if his story continue and that is a big IF but it wouldn't be fair (like this current topic) since Vergil died very early. I mean your insinuating that Vergil will never become more stronger since he is not accepting his side and that is something that DmC Dante is capable of but lets not forget DmC Vergil was able to obtain more power (or so it seems) by rejecting those around and forsaken both his human bonds and human emotions.....sooooooooooo if DmC Vergil can obtain power in the total opposite way of doing things why can't DMC Vergil follow suit....or could've followed suit.

Well I must go now...see ya later.

Well, at least you're considering the possibility that it could go either way.

DMC 3 Vergil. I would go into full mathematical and scientific detail about it since his Judgement Cut provides a good measurement of his speed (faster-than-light, by the way) and his encounters with Dante tell us a bit about his strenght (Dante can punch a boulder into several pieces, Vergil overpowered him in their final sword clash in their first battle).

I think both universes are completely to different to compare but,

Have we forgotten about the game breaking demon dodge and that Dante can parry just about everything with Erycs?
