The perfect hack n' slash thing was directed at all MGR fanboys not you! I understand your standpoint but seriously just stop being so pessimistic and try not to come across as arrogant in future posts!
That sound cool?
Pessimistic in the sense that you firmly believe that DMC is finished. Being less defensive is a good idea and I shall follow suit!I'm not sure how I come across as pessimistic. I mainly have to defend myself every time I voice my opinion, so that can get annoying for me, yes. I'll try to come across as less defensive, then.
I have told you time and time again to stop acting (not saying you are) so petulant and goddamn ARROGANT. DmC (unfortunately) probably won't sell well due to the fact that basically any forum apart from this one hates DmC and everyone is sitting praising MGR and saying they'll buy it instead of DmC so you have zero evidence it will sell well.
Give me one piece of evidence suggesting it will sell WELL.
If it is praised by reviewers and is marketed properly it will sell
He said if. Your Post = invalid.Good one.
You seriously think that it's properly marketed. With Tameem being the idiot he has been saying Dante wasn't cool, to the fanbase that LOVES DANTE, and then Alex Jones LAUGHING AT THE FANS.

That post Nightrunner made was his one piece of evidence, Post= Valid againGive me one piece of evidence suggesting it will sell WELL.
To be fair he said it in reference to modern culture as If someone dressed as DMC3 Dante walked into a bar he would not be greeted with "wow you are such a badass". He would probably be called gay or something - not that I think that is how he looks but the masses would see him that way.Good one.

Not exactly - until we get pre-order numbers there is not sufficient evidence that it will sell well. Resident Evil 6 sold over 5 million copies despite bad reviews so the reviews although a good sign are not evidence. That post Nightrunner made was his one piece of evidence, Post= Valid again
That post Nightrunner made was a sentence stating the possible outcome of something in the event of proper marketing and high review scores. Post = re-invalidated.That post Nightrunner made was his one piece of evidence, Post= Valid again

Well, if people want to play a hack and slash game, and DmC would be the only new one, they'd buy it. Sales would go up, and the game would be considered a succes, because it's all about sales. I can't say RE6 was great, but it sold well simply because people want a game to play. If it's a Resident Evil game, all the better.
Well there is Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, even though it's releasing in February I believe.
And I'm not sure just because DmC is the only hack n' slash game that's coming out in January, means that people would automatically buy it. We all saw how Ninja Gaiden 3 did and it was well anticipated for the most part. But it had negative reviews because things were changed kinda drastically.
As of now, no one knows how the game will sell until the release date. If it does good, we can probably expect more from DmC. If not, then farewell DmC.
I agree completely but I believe lionheart meant it hypothetically as in if it were the only hack n' slash then it may sell well.Well there is Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, even though it's releasing in February I believe.

To be slightly fair, Tameem never directly said Dante "wasn't cool" as a character. He was essentially talking about if he walked into a bar outside of Tokyo, dressed as he was back then, he'd get laughed at. (Basically, how he dressed back then, isn't cool) Which is funny since the first design was laughable for the initial look of Dante and Capcom/NT changed it due to the negative responses or possibly for some other reason.
And in a sense, they are indeed marketing their product in a harsh way even though the game received almost nothing but hate in the beginning. Even so, it still doesn't give an excuse to act immature towards the fans of the DMC franchise. As of now, I'm eagerly waiting to see what this DmC game has to offer in terms of gameplay
And I'm talking about the full game, not the demo since I'm was not impressed by it at all.
If it looks good, I might just buy it. If it sucks and I'm liking with what DmC has to offer, I'm steering clear of it.
If it was just about sales then DmC would've been a lot worse. NT theory know they getting attention because the title they are working on has DMC in the name. The same way how we all perk our ears up when we hear Zelda. We know that brand and that name. They could've been like "Oh well sales is important so just shove some crap in there and it'll sell" but instead they put a lot of creative ideas into this and AND have been working on it for 3 years, PLUS we haven't had a DMC in 5 years. DmC isn't about the sales but giving us the best experience.Exactly.
But the thing is, people will buy games no matter what. The simple fact that there aren't that many hack and slash games around might lead to a lot of purchases of DmC. And those sales will be translated into ''Hey, people like DmC!'' Argh, what am I saying. Developers don't care that much whether or not you like their games. It's just about sales. That's it.
