He flicks on the light.
It's bed sheet, but when he lifts his boot it is covered in all to familer substance.

*vergil walks from the shadows rose in mouth*

DANTE COMES UP THE STAIRS!

Dante- Hey, what did I miss gu... VERGIL YOU BASTARD!

Eva walks back into the room with Vergil.

Some still say that Sparda resides in that house pondering why he didn't perform well enough.
