This is a great idea! I would definitely play this game if it came out. And I wouldn't mind it a bit if the game also included the "odd jobs" anime episodes without progressing the story; I'd be glad to hack and slash through as many missions as possible with Dante and his friends. :D

Thanks deamonslayeR =)

Dante's odd jobs will still be available, as he'll gain odd jobs from people in Capulet City. As I stated earlier, there will be a Free-Roam element to the game that I will expand on in more detail all in due time.

At the moment let's just say that Capulet City will be quite big and hold several key/main buildings you'll go to and receive odd jobs from particular informants. Dante will also be contacted by Morrison for jobs and such. And if you're not up to much and are just enjoying the sights, there will be moments were demons crop up and a battle will ensue (Battle music will get louder to alert you) There'll be the odd thing to do apart from odd jobs, but not too much. There'll also be items to collect, new weapons also and such things in Free-Roam which can help in the main story-line also if obtained. And Dante can ride his bike around the City, should you choose to ride it. He can also catch the Capulet Express Train to certain points in the City. He can basically go nearly everywhere, also being allowed to swim as there will be underwater areas also and also hidden secrets/collectables and demonic realms you can enter into if you find them. So Free-Roam will be on quite a large scale, because there's not just the City to explore; you get an equally huge underwater section and many different entrances into demonic Worlds, each one looking and feeling different to the other.

Dante won't just be the main person you can roam Capulet City with. Lady and Trish will have their own individual odd jobs also, and perhaps a few more characters will be playable too.

Missions will range from killing a few demons. Killing a boss. Killing a few demons and then a boss. Protecting and escorting people to various locations. Motorbike races to gain the respect of the bikers (Who will then offer you more jobs). Finding/searching for items for people who want them or want them back. Sealing off Hell-Gates. Entering into demonic realms and confronting a series of bosses. Such things like that.

I would love to ride a motorcycle as Dante! That would be so much fun, like all other things like exploring the city, butchering demons, clearing missions and odd jobs etc. It would be challenging to clear and collect everything, and the feeling when you have completed it 100% would be tremendous. And I think playing as Trish would be very fun! I like Trish. ;D

I edited my previous post in regards to Free Roam. Here are the new things I mentioned, so you don't have to sift through it.

I agree, I think it would be fun. And my main aim is to make it a larger scaled game, so it adds some more replay value to it. Devil May Cry to me never really had a huge replay value. The only thing worth replaying DMC was completing the levels on a much harder difficulty and going through Bloody Palace. Both things had a challenging replay value, and nothing like a more relaxed/casual approach to the game. Now with this you have the option to go explore, complete the game on a harder difficulty, go through Bloody Palace, play through Devil's Brawl, replay story missions in Monster Mash-Up Mode. (Where you can also replay them on greater difficulties). So now you don't just have Dante to play the story missions with but a large range of demons, and you can select them to play as on harder difficulties also. So it's like you'd have the option to try and complete the game with a certain demon on the most hardest setting. And if there are forty demons to choose from, that's a huge number of demons to use and to try and beat the game on the hardest setting with. The replay value in my opinion is more tremendous with these features available, and should hopefully make the game more exciting and enjoyable.

WOW lod i have to say sounds pretty awesome but even so sounds alot tough to make. to make an open world for dmc is pretty different and would aquire alot of effort to keep the previous and new fans happy.but id love to see it :).and dude i think during any missions or side jobs the open world should end and there sould be some levels like in the previous games because i dnt want it to be like assassins creed getting out of mission boundry ends the mission.if its like that for me it wouldnt be like dmc.WHY DOSENT CAPCOM NOTICE THIS :p

you probably shouldn't add in escort missions. i have never heard of anybody actually wanting to do one of those. mildly annoying is the closest thing to fun an escort mission can be. (the average escort mission tends to make players hate the people who made the game.)

I'm adding in escort missions. Whether they are badly received or not. I'll try and make them interesting.

Feel free to pick any you so wish my good man, the fun will be all yours =)

I intend to make the game look like the Anime, in terms of graphics. The idea is to have it cel-shaded. This is to tell you instinctively that the game is based off of the Animated Series. And no, these are JUST ideas. Thanks DeamonSlayeR =]

Could you possibly post pictures? Because I'm quite sure the Dante I want for this game will probably look very similar to this Dante you speak of.
