I know and i agree. But i never heard of such a thing where a kid bury himself just because of watching naruto.I'm always at sankaku complex(A site that gives that also gives infos about controversies in japan)and i have never seen the article or the news.By the way,did i ever mention that kids here in my country is already playing god of war at 7 to 12 years old and the parents don't even care?

Does the kids copy what they see in those games? Because then I hope the parents will start to care.

It's parents responsibility to make sure their kids don't get bad games.
But as game developers with a conscious mind that many kids will still play your game, making smoking look good is a bad idea.

I am not against it, i am just saying this might happen. Wasn't it you Zero who said that kids are probably a big group that will buy the game or games in general?

I dont know, have I said that? If you can provide a link to me saying that so I can see the context of it, that would be nice.

So does that make naruto worse?

No, because it isn't Naruto's fault. Kids do stupid things.

The good part is nope they don't.
Another cousin of mine is playing God of war 3.He's only 10 and then there are adults in his back.
They clearly see how violent god of war 3 is especially the last part where kratos is pummeling zeus brutally.Yet,they still don't even care.

I've grown up with fighting games, such as Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat, and my friends and I play-pretended we were those characters while dressing up, kicking around and having fun. Sure, sometimes one of us got a bloody nose by a foot-to-the-face accident, but kids get hurt no matter what they play. I have seen kids get hurt by playing with Lego and Barbies! My mother was really good at telling and showing me the difference between real-life and video games, so I have always on some level known when to say stop if it got too real all of a sudden. That's called parenting.

If Dante smoking in a video game is bad, then why is killing demons ok? or Shooting people in video games? The M rating is there for a reason. My cousin doesn't give a **** about that and she'll buy her son anything and he's only 12 and has played every FPS from CoD to the Darkness. I had talks with her before about it but she really doesn't care. I guess it only really is a problem when someone gets hurt. Its sad really

I hope DmC is so bad that it scars these underage kids from the inside and it makes them afraid of demons

Actually, funny enough, guys, I'm just after getting the sudden urge to go step off a tall building backwards, whilst spinning two guns and saying "My name is Dante"

Wish Me luck!

I don't care. I'd love a taunt where Dante lights a cigarette, and gives a demon the finger. Or a finishing move where you can stick a cigarette into a demon's eye.

Don't forget to dive straight down, kick the wall, and leap down into a safe landing.

Good luck. Now everyone be quite. I must tell my kids to go play in the streets at night.

Well, I smoke but I don't like the idea of Dante smoking. Why? Well, in effect it seemed forced when they showed it, all they lacked were arrows pointing at the cigarette saying 'chek out how cool he is with his cigarettes.' Alot of the things they show for Dante been cool seem so gimiky it just bothers me...

Dante's cool-factor in the original series has always been gimmicky though. So Ninja Theory are doing it right.

I'm ambivalent towards it as I wouldn't make him smoke if i was writing it but im not against him smoking.

my main man Spike, coolest vampire ever smokes and im ok with it. He can teach Dante a thing or two about being badass.

I disagree, I don't like NT's deffinition of cool. It comes off obvious on more than one occation and that's just in the trailers. If you want to do something cool it's gatta be creative and at least a bit original.

I agree with Berto. The smoking comes off as "Look at me iam cool i smoke".
It has no significant value that DmC Dante is afterall a human and has weaknesses like a human.

Am i wrong? Small chance i am.
But E3 Ending trailer where he smoked it didn't scream out "I am weak :(".

It screamed out "Look i am cool because i smoke".
