Dante smoking - For or against it?

Oh i just recall that in Pop 2008 there was a costume of original prince and even altair !
i wonder if they'll put costumes from other game franchies like Ubisoft does

Dante's DMC 1 costume (with sparda sword) !!!
Coatless DMC 1 costume (Same with sparda sword)
Dante's DMC 2 costume (You can do Majin DT)
Wesker's Costume (??? you can wear awesome sunglasses of wesker)
Samanoske's costume from Ominusha (Its only fair to put one costume on Ominusha)
A strider costume which has Cyborg DT
And super and super corrupt version for each costumes although a Batman Costume would just make my day
^ It's highly unlikely that they'll include anything from the old series as NT are trying quite hard to keep DmC separate, which I prefer. Sure, it would be neat to see the original coat and sword in gorgeous HD, but at the same time it would feel weird. I'm head over heels for the current look of Dante, and would rather they stem from that and make neat alterations on that appearance, rather than go backwards.
Like, off the top of My head I can see;
Normal (our current look)
No coat (Just the white tank, like He was at the start of the Captivate trailer)
Devil (Permanent white hair and blood red coat, possibly infinite Devil Trigger also)

Not a huge fan of it, my father is a smoker and it ruins his health little by little each day. In the 44 minute demo Tameem showed us he says "Dante gave up smoking a long time ago".
I don't understand why it's such a major deal. I can understand that the hardcore fans of the old series, support the statement made by the original Dante's creator that "my definition of cool is actually NOT smoking" so by seeing Dante smoke, it kinda seemed wrong. Though I wonder if they would have the same explanation to pass if a rebooted Vergil appeared with a cigarette, but anyway.
However, the only common factor between this Dante and the old one, is the names. His name, the names of his weapons, of his game and possibly of his parents/enemies/who knows. Other than that, this new Dante has had quite the different childhood, possibly one more tragic than the original Dante's. I mean, in the old DMC series, the demons can be seen by everyone, while in the new series only by a set of people. That alone could make the new Dante pass off as a strange kid that no one would want. Also, he lived in a place with demons as supervisors - that orphanage. It's actually weird how he didn't take any drugs, not that he could possibly be a smoker.
So yeah, my answer? As long as the old Dante remains a non-smoker, you can do whatever you want with the new one NT. It's yours anyway. Give him smokes, give him tattoos, give him scars, give him a different sense of humor or whatever pleases you. It's a new game with the same kind of gameplay and setting. Other than that it's a new story with new characters. The more unique they are the better.

i personally wouldnt mind him smoking.....its not that big of a deal.....some guys here say that smoking is bad and whatever...its just a game so he cant die from it or anything and + hes a demon so i dont think demons get cancer....

Watched my grandfather die from it. But at the end of the day it is a personal choice. In the context of the game I suppose it wouldn't affect Dante, since he is practically immortal seems like they used it as a metaphor for rebelliousness.
So Tameem has ditched the smoking for the revised version of Dante...?
im sorry to hear that but not all of us are the same....i mean my grandfather is like 90 years old and he started smoking from the age of 12 and didnt stop not once he smokes to packs a day and hes alwayz walking and visiting his friends all day......

- It's a reboot character, if he took drugs, ate pie, was sucidial it doesn't matter.
- It's rated M for mature, so adults are mature enough to know that smoking isn't a good thing. And it's a fictional story, so a adult won't see DmC Dante smoking and say "I am going to smoke too!".
- There are people who live better lifes than those who don't smoke (just saying). But that still does not mean smoking is good. (Not that it has anything to do with "For" or "Against" smoking discussion).
So if anything this topic will just become a topic of why smoking is bad, and not if DmC Dante should smoke or not. Because again: it doesn't matter what you or i think - it's a reboot character. It's not DMC Dante, if it was then we could discuss that.

Don't be sorry, it was his own choice, he knew what he was doing because he was still smoking long after a link between cigarettes and cancer had been discovered and made know to the public. There is a lot of smoking and alcoholism among my relatives. I don't have the right to tell them what to think or do, and they don't have the right to tell me what to do with my body either. That's why I have no especial feelings on whether Dante smokes being good or bad. But since he didn't smoke before, I don't see why he needs to now. I guess I also think that if Dante is supposed to be 'cool' and somehow expressing that through smoking, that might be encouraging people to smoke. They (especially kids) don't need any more encouraging, I suppose.
