Countdown to DmC!!!

Yeah, I guess I personally don't have much energy left to laugh at some of the buffoonery of those with extreme opinions about the game. I used to be much more 'into it', but I face-palmed so hard that my arms gave out, and I'm left to type with my nose.

That said, I do find the cognitive dissonance interesting- some of the complainers are the most excited to play the game. And Tameem has noted how much people have turned around to the game, so it is nice to know that we're mostly above this, heading toward a shining dawn of demon-butchering glory.

And hey, we get to play as Vergil pretty soon after that. Honestly, I loved where this game was going even before Vergil was revealed. I don't think I've ever been so excited to play a videogame. (I'm not the kind of guy to join forums like this)

You know... I think I just had a discussion with him as well. He ended up disabling the comments. :/

I couldn't take him seriously though. He said DmC is clunky, slow, and worst than DMC2. This didn't matter though, it's his opinion. What made me laugh is that he concluded that A) I shouldn't be playing DMC in the first place since I like forgiving gameplay, and B) I must be such a casual player for liking DmC that I should be playing bejeweled and angry birds.

I tried discussing it... but that dude just can't state his opinions without making silly assumptions. He also assumed I button mashed in DMC1 since I thought the lock-on was terrible in it. :/
He just didn't want to accept that DMC is for both casual and hardcore players... well, except for DMC3. I had to use cheats to make that game enjoyable.

Pardon the gossip, there's no other thread fitting for it since it relates to your post. I know, I know... it's childish of me to throw more gossip around... but I just couldn't help it this time. :S

Dude, he thought I was stupid because I couldn't "back up my opinion". lol
 
Nothing like a little confirmation bias to make someone look absurdly out of touch with reality. A lot of these guys just want to believe DmC can't be good so badly that they paint an image of the sheeple a DmC fan must be, then project that onto everybody who likes the game. I think it would do them good to meet an attractive member of the opposite sex, get to know them well, then suddenly find out they really like DmC. BAM! They'd have to try to understand it, or look like a total douchebag.

Luckily, I have been talking to people who have much more interesting defenses of their position against DmC, lately, so it's not really as embarrassing (or hilarious :\ )to engage with them. I'm still shocked, however, to see how many dislikes almost every official DmC video gets on YouTube. Those kind of numbers are what I'm interested to see change after the game's release, and I hope they reveal some kind of sales report in a few months.

You really misinterpret what I meant. I just want to countdown the last remaining days before release, and I wanted others to post their funniest, dumbest, and most aggressive arguments. We're not directing our comments towards that person. Like I said, we're not here to hurt anyone feelings, what they don't know about won't hurt them. So, I really can't see how I'm adding fuel to the fire.

Here's an outburst on one of my vids.

Guy A:Nice combos, too bad the game is ****.

GuyB:so the game has a good combo system which=GOOD GAMEPLAY BECAUSE TIS A HACK AND SLASH and yet its still bad? **** you

GuyA: Good combo system? Man, you either haven't played the two previous games or you have really low standards.

GuyB:so how many hack and slash games allow you to switch between everyone one of its weapons mid combo and wield all of them at once meaning no micromanaging? including the fact that all of the weapons have more than several unlockable moves leading to an infinite amount of possible combos, six weapons have been shown in the game and they haven't even showed us every weapon, and you're telling me this isn't a good combo system? why? because its not a copy and paste of dmc3 and 4, gtfo

Anyway, it has a bad combo system because it is damage based; that means that the more damage you deal the higher your rank goes, so one can easily spam the highest damage dealing attack and obtain a high rank, whereas in DMC3 and 4 players wouldn't get past B if they tried to pull something like that, instead it encouraged players to try different combinations to archive higher scores.

I know that not everyone is gonna just button mash to play the game, but the fact that you can shows that it is badly designed, and if case you can't put two and two together bad design=bad combo system.

GuyB: so because the game isn't just designed for the "hardcore audience" its badly designed? instead of vice versa where a larger amount of people can play the game and have fun despite not doing all the "SUPER STYLISH COMBOS!!!!"
 
That's not even correct! Spam Arbiter and you won't get anywhere unless you still know what you're doing. Plus, spam Trinity Smash and you'll get to maybe a mid-B before it stops giving you Style at all, not to mention how slow the weapon is, I can get those same results faster, and with less risk.

Plus, somehow Guy A equates the combo system to the scoring system...he sorta completely just ignored the statements Guy B made about the weapon/combo system being good, and tried to lead it into the score system :/

Today's generation of gamers are too picky about what they want in a video games, and the gaming industry slowly failing to meet consumer needs. People now and days want something to shoot at, or something that instantly catches their eye. Story and plot is hard to come by now and days. That is why I am a strong supporter of DmC. I can tell how much dedication NT put into this game's design, story, mechanics, and dialogue, but people would rather crush their passion over the style of Dante's hair.

Not trying to put you on the spot or anything just saying you could of named it something else, I myself thought this was gonna be a thread about counting down for DmC.

not to mention how in DMC4 if you spammed an attack long enough you would start building style again, and itwas thefirst game to not drop your style rank due to innactivity

I'd like to ask this person: WTF IS WRONG WITH BEJEWELED AND ANGRY BIRDS? Also, does he need help fishing out that carrot up his bumhole, cos I've got some mean-ass tongs.
I won't, though, because he's probably a kid (or has the brain capacity of one) and I'm supposed to be an adult and all.

SO you literally want me to post "7 days left, 6,5,4..." all the way to the end? I'll be killing two birds with one stone, simply by giving others something to talk about, and others can post the countdown. I'm not worried at all about you putting the spotlight on me, you took the whole show by being a smartass.
