Can Capcom still carry on the old story after this "D*C"

I think there is a difference in being downright "evil" and "OBSESSED" with power.

Vergil really didn't do anything downright evil in the game IMO.

Bad and unethical?

Sure.

But evil?

nope.
you're right there is a difference in obsessed with power and being evil, vergil is both. vergil is one of the main antagonist in dmc1 and he is the main antagonist in dmc3, he wants to unleash a portal to hell, he wants to get dante out of the way of his path, because he knows his brother will try to vanquish his plan, in other words the only way to do that is to kill dante, which vergil tries to do. these are all things that classify vergil as evil, why would he be the antagonist in the game if he wasn't a bad guy? he is a very likeable villain, but nonetheless he is a villain.
anyway we are way off topic.

Vergil is not evil. You people talk as if you know his core?
Vergil and Dante both sounded very happy when their mother came with a birthday cake and said "Happy birthday".
Someone evil shows that kind of joy? Funny.

Vergil lost something - mother, childhood

And he's older than Dante (born first?), and he wants to be strong.
He wants more power.

REASON ===== WHY does he want power?
For what purpose?

Considering Vergil is not evil this is answer i suggest:
He wants to controll things around him, so that he never goes through what he has gone through.

According to DMC logic Dante and Vergil has great regenerative ability as half demons. Do you really believe that Vergil doesn't know that? It wasn't explained why Vergil wants power. Just like Nero's background was just "a descdent of sparda".
Just like Sparda's story was never elaborated in a new game.

1. Vergil was being controlled in DMC1 by a evil Demon. So that example is flawed.

2.As I said earlier, Vergil could have killed Dante on that tower. He knows what it would take to kill Dante. Instead he just went back to stab him in order to keep him down. If he really wanted to kill Dante he would have done so simple as that.

3.He opened the portal to hell to get the power of his father. Like I said, he was OBSESSED with power. If he would have opened the portal to destroy the world THAN I wold agree with you that he is evil. But alas, he didn't which makes this example flawed also.

4.Vergil could have easily killed Lady. After all she was also getting in the way of his ambitions. and yet he did not. A trully evil person would have slaughtered her right there.

well this is your opinion and i have my own so i guess its just the opinion of the fan to whether vergil is evil or not. i consider him evil, you don't. so that's that.
on topic: i think a great thing for capcom to do would be to make a game about vergil so us fans could go into further analysis about vergil's past, his struggles, and what not.

Vergil wants to obtain power without caring for the consequences. Alot of people will die in the process, but Vergil does not care, as long he gets what he wants. I consider that to be evil.
Osama Bin Laden attacked World Trade Center and killed millions of people, but he firmly believed he did so for a higher cause. Osama and his followers believed that the Americans are evil and so they thought that what they did was good and rightous. However, wouldn't you consider his actions evil?

WTF we are WAYYY much off topic ex osama bin laden targeted to kill vergil didn't he just didn't care if he was that evil then he would have just killed lady when she attacked him but i think he is a bit childish that's why doesn't care about humans

Yea, but the difference in my opinion is I gave evidence and facts in contrast to your own that proved and confirmed my opinion and disproved yours.

And yet you have not given any to towards mine......

But yea, this is offtopic.

Last I checked Vergil did not kill millions.

Comparing him to Osama just seems ridiculous me

Your example is flawed IMO.

And last I checked Vergil did kill the monster alongside Dante instead of just letting it loose. A trully evil person would not have cared and would have just left.

VERGIL ISN'T EVIL HE IS CHILDISH that's ALL NOW BACK ON TOPIC !!

When you say vergil is older than dante i'm guessing you mean by a few minutes right?

No, it doesn't mean anything in particular. As I said before, the future is still unknown to us. So the best thing is wait to see what'll happen with the new DmC. I don't think they abandoned the old Dante seeing as they put him and Vergil in UMvsC3 ;)

i remember reading articles that they are rebooting ominushia series.

Would people be interested in the classic DMC series have crossover with other capcom games canonically?
or non canonical crossovers with none capcom properties?

It's been soooo long after the last Onimusha that even a reboot wouldn't sound bad to me. However it had such a perfect story already that they could continue easily with new villains/the battle at Sekigahara, etc. but oh well.

You mean minor crossovers like Dante's appearance to UMvsC3 or crossovers in action/adventure games like Dante meeting Solid Snake or something?

I would like a canonical crossover with Bayonetta to emphasize that the two games share the same world like it was suggested in Bayonetta. To have Dante and Bayonetta in one game, fighting side by side, would just be epic!
