Can Capcom still carry on the old story after this "D*C"

Well, i think your old thread was locked because your question was already answered, according to the mod for this sub-forum.

i think DMC5 might still get made depending on sales but whether or not it's good or bad sales they havent specified. If this rebot bad sales, they might scrapp it entirely and restart with 5 but there is the possibility they might scrap the whole series. If the reboot does well, they might do 5 as a pity gesture or just forget 5 and continue on with the reboot.

I dont want both tho because one would feel redudant.

this game suffer from bad decisions from capcom and bad pr from capcom, overhyping it into something NT cant deliver.

I'm not so sure it will have a lame story.

The main reason it is getting overhyped is because Capcom isn't choosing gameplay over story

Okay so Devil may cry's future depends on this ???? and if this is cancelled capcom would throw the series out of the window just becaue this didn't do well who wanted a reboot anyway i wanted a origin story explaining who the hell sparda is and how he became a legend think of a game taking place in hell fighting as full demon oh man !!

I doubt a Sparda game will see the light. They had many years to do it and still nothing.

I guess they could, but I don't think they will. Unless a game really succeeds all over, Capcom just drops the series. I miss Onimusha and I miss Megaman on a REAL platform, not all those side-game series to handhelds, though Megaman Zero would be cool if they re-made it into a console game in full HD 3D graphics, but keeping the 2D gameplay like the later Megaman X games with Axl. ^^

I highly doubt this game would par 7.0 score and i really don't want devil may cry to die just because this game didn't do well its capcom's fault anyway they should have given this to the original director who made bayonetta he was also willing to do a new devil may cry game

But they were still Devil May Cry and I still like them, but not as well as 1 and 3.
I think Capcom should unite Ninja Theory with Platinum Games to make them a team who make Devil May Cry games in the future and then Capcom should just stay clear. Capcom as a company knows how to make games, but they also know how to totally ruin a series too. They should just start a series of games and then pass the torch to those who know how to continue them by keep making them be good. Ninja Theory are all about making greats stories, Platinum Games makes superb action gameplay and together they would be a force to be reckon with. They would make Devil May Cry perfect!

Devil May Cry 3 was brilliant and then they made Devil May Cry 4 which was the SECOND ****up next to Devil May Cry 2. 2 and 4 have nothing to do with the main plot, they are just spin-offs, imo. A spin-off can still be canon. Like Final Fantasy X-2 was canon to Final Fantasy X, but it is still a spin-off to the main series. Funny enough, the main series isn't canon to one another at all in Final Fantasy. XD

okay a spinoff means something which is either a sidestory following a different charecter or something like this now D*C yeah that's what i call a spin-off but 2 is canon no matter even capcom tries to avoid this but they finally included this in HD collection

but dmc2 isn't just demon hunting i guess they made it to end the series since he endedup in hell and for a halfdemon cannot make his way back to the human world as even full demons like mundus took 100 years to get out of hell so no wonder why there is no story after dmc2 in dmc2 he was doing the same drill hunting demons but this time he is really serious for some reason which capcom didn't answer in dmc4 which they should've done well never mind just make a sequel to dmc 4 and show the story of nero

i am not telling my opinions and about the bike he just got a bike in hell that's all and what did he say--

"let's go all the way down to hell"

this clearly states he isn't trying to escape hell and the bike you hear could be anyone of dante's friends he made in the timeline of dmc 3-2 trish and lady rides a bike so she could have come to visit dante it is not impossible but not easy to get out of hell without the amulets and force edge even full demons can't get out of hell so dante being a half human have to fight many demons and find a portal to human world which seems unlikely as we knew what happened to vergil when he endedup in hell no good he was defeated and was made into a slave of mundus

well this is really story is very hard to write for capcom so they decided to scrap and start from the beginning

Don't say me that i have to wait for it like people are doing for ominusha now that is wrong look at kojima how he hasn't killed bigg boss yet okay he may have died in mgs 4 but he comes in every damn spinoff or prequel new ps vita game Mgs revengence hell solid snake himself isn't yet dead even though story is over kojima keeps on making game but capcom seems to be one greedy heartless company who just decides to reboot when dmc4 did 'okay' in sales and got a score of 8.0 everywhere NICE WAY TO INSULT YOU CONSUMERS AND FANS CACPOM !!

I don't expect much from this game as it seems to have a broken combat and lame storytelling even though its early to judge but these trailers don't answer anything about the story or the combat i am still figuring out whether he has all the styles or it uses something from heavenly sword which isn't meant for "devil may cry"

No, it doesn't clearly state anything than that he wants to go all the way to hell. You just assume he won't survive the trip.
