Uh...housework, childcare, job - the usual responsibilities...
If they were worthy chores you'd be able to do them in Whiterun.
If they were worthy kids there would have been a childbirth system in Cyrodiil.
If it was a worthy job you'd be able to play at work.

Battlefield 3, Batman Arkham City, Work, Internet time, Friends and my Girlfriend.
If those were worthy games you'd be playing them instead.
If it was a worthy...internet...you'd be....Skyrim....better than internet.
If they were worthy friends they'd be playing and not bothering you.
If she was a worthy girlfriend she'd be.... can't really touch that one since I'm single.

Hey..I don't play Skyrim at all...unfortunately..

And don't run too fast. I've not reached any speed faster than walking since 1989 and I'm not about to start running now just to catch naughty cheese...

1- Is it difficult to maintain order on this forum?

2- Do you play often with the ban button/hammer?

3- Does it feel great to have unlimited power on this forum?

4- Do you think people respect you for who you are or for your status of being a staff member.

1. Most of the time, no. People are generally respectful of one another and make good use of the options available to them should problems arise. It's when people refuse to acknowledge they are wrong - that's the thing that will cause trouble.

2. Nope. Spammers are dealt with automatically by the system unless they slip through and we just delete them as soon as we see them. Members are never banned on a whim and in the staff area there is much discussion and debate before any decision is made. No one enjoys banning an otherwise active member but we have to consider the community over one individual.

3. We don't have unlimited power, just more than regular members. We are still called to obey the same rules and if anything, staff probably have to be more accountable than regular members because of what we have to do and uphold. One of the rules/guidelines for this place says we can ban/delete/edit without having to explain ourselves if we believe it is beneficial to the community to make that decision - but I can't think of more than maybe two or three instances when we have had to actually take advantage of that clause.

4. Honestly? I don't feel respected in either way whatsoever. On a personal level, no one knows me well enough here to warrant the giving of respect. From a staff point of view the general impression I get is one of "you exist to make me happy and if you don't, I'll make damn sure everyone knows what an evil person you are and how you shouldn't be staff". Being staff is something of a double-edged sword: on the one side you can "deal" with problems in a more direct way than regular members but on the other side you get nothing but abuse no matter what you do when it comes to some people.

I'll answer too if it's ok:)

1) Most members here are brilliant, especially a few! Every now and then a troublemaker might arrive, but nothing compared to other forums I've been. The troublemakers are the dominant species there. Say a different opinion and the flame's one. Faster than human torch if I might add.

2) For my part, I haven't banned anyone except obvious spammers/trolls like the one a few weeks ago who made two accounts to throw a few curses about DMC and then disappear. In my opinion, banning is serious business, and as Angel said, only after warnings/countless debates will we ban someone.

3)
But seriously, the "power" is something needed to mantain order. I'm sure if anyone abused it, the others would "take it away" ;)

4) You can never be respected for your status IMO. People might TRY and be friendly and cool with you because of your position, but that's where it ends. Respect comes from knowing the person. I don't know how fair is to be judged by an online community, but I firmly believe that it's our "self" here which would make anyone respect us or not. Same as with regular members. And even though you'd think we'd getter a better treatment or something like that because of our "status" you'd be surprised about what we hear. XD

1. The forums are only difficult to maintain when members make things difficult. A forum is only as good as its members at the end of the day and we have the odd trouble maker here and there from time to time but they are dealt with in due time. Hardest thing is maintaining impartial order and trying to keep listening to both parties when they wont listen to each other.

2. Wouldnt say I 'play' with it but out of all the staff ive probably used the ban feature the most as I dont like to beat around the bush so to speak. If someone repeatedly breaks the rules and shows a disregard for the forums and its members they I shall get them out of here before they can blink no problem.

3. As the saying goes 'With great power comes great responsibility' and we have the weight of the forums on us when things go sour. So as Sharon said its a double edged sword really as we are the ones who have to deal with all the situations here and make sure things are done in the communities best interests.

4. Respect is earned and ive been shown great respect by some members and appreciated by others but there are always those that disrespect the rules, community and forums themselves and we see that as disrespecting us too.

Screw it, I'll throw my 2 cents in as well.

1- Only as difficult as members make it. So mostly no it's not, of course there's the odd trouble maker but beyond that, I wouldn't say keeping order round here is wonderfully hard.

2- Nope. As has been stated, there's always a great deal of discussion and deliberation before a ban is administered, well, most of the time anyway. There's times when someone just obviously deserves an outright ban, no questions asked. Those times are rare but they've occurred. It's a serious thing and not a tool to be thrown around lightly.

I've performed a couple fairly significant bans but I don't really enjoy doing it.

3- Wouldn't call it unlimited power so to speak. We've gotta obey the rules, same as everyone else. More so actually in order to be able to keep order free of hypocrisy. I'll tell you now I enjoy being a moderator here, most certainly. But it's not the abilities being staff here imparts that I enjoy, no, what feels good about it is being able to have the opportunity to give back to a site that's given me a lot of good memories.

4- Respect has to be earned through one's actions. Some respect me for the decisions I've made in the past, some don't and I'm okay with that. I don't think it can really be said that anyone respects me for who I am however because no one here actually knows me on a personal enough level to be able to make that judgement. If I've earned any respect here, I'd like to believe it's for my actions rather than through just being a member of staff.
