Any love for Vergil at all?

LOL and imagine how your comment looks right now lol.

No better than the so called "haters" if you ask me.

I see comment like that on every YouTube video about DmC.
Man, how retarded was the idea of removing the option of diplaying comments on youtube. So I have to go safety mode?! Screw youtube!

lol, I actually really liked Splinter Cell: Conviction. But I see your point.

Yeah, people like to base characters off of first impressions and never even look at them ever again. Which is a shame. :/

Stealth genre is dead at the moment. So now I'm hoping for Rockstar's AGENT to come out after GTA V or so.

With a spin off take the issue people would've had would've been when a DMC title was going to be released.
People still might have hated that it didnt advance the series or wasn't a Vergil game.

It could work as a nero game.

That is not the point, this game couldn't exist if it was original IP, since the whole idea was to reinvent DMC, not to make DMC5.

Let's put it like this: we have the original Batman comics, Tim Burton's movies and Nolan's trilogy. The movies are kind of remakes of the comics and without the original source there would be no idea of rebooting Batman.

Also if you look at the poor sales of Azura's Wrath ( has it even passed 400k?) you should realize the difficulties of new IP's, only truly successful new IP's in this console generation can be counted with your fingers.
To be fair, DMC started out as a pitch for RE4 before it became its own thing so they could have easily just cut the cord and did it as something seperate and new .

As its own ip, its hands are less tied by what has come before.

Besides was Asura's wrath's failures were because its a new iP or because people didnt like the game.

on topic-

I'm okay with even if i'm more skeptical/curios about his batman-esque background.
I think most of the backlash for vergil is because his aura of mystery is now gone and the image people built up in their heads is refuted. Vergil as a character was sort off an unknown quality and now that they peeled back the layers, people are disagreeing what they find.
I cant say i love but i dont hate him.

Asura's Wrath is a QTE animated movie. What kind of gamers likes playing like that all the time?! I understand God of War series, though I'm no fan of this game.

Trolls, trolls, everywhere. Oh well. Nothing we can do about it.

Hey, come on, now. Dishonored looks as though it will be the King of Shadows. I think it will get 'Game of the Year', even.

.

But thats youtube.

Fans act stupid and ignorant just for the hell of it on youtube.

That is not how all the people who dislike this Vergil thinks.

Some people actually dislike this Vergil for their own personal reasons and tastes.

I myself don't like the new "brotherly love" attitude but still think he new appearance it pretty good for a rebooted character.

Much better than DmC Dante's rebooted look if you ask me.

And people have no reason to complain about the hair since its actually white.

Total truth. Youtube always have extreme haters on it. Im glad that devs not changed Vergil hair.

Good point. Oh well. There's always Batman: Arkham Series, Shinobi-do 2 for PSVita, and even Kingdoms of Amalur has some decent third-person stealth.

Oh well. There's always Agent 47.

Nah, I want a new stealth IP where you assassinate and climb things. And please, I do not count Assassin's Creed as a 100% stealth game. Too much fighting in it.

Ummm.... Shinobi-do 2? Crap, I already said that. Deus Ex: Human Revolution. No, that has no climbing... Well, how about Mirror's Edge? It's not the best option, but it's all I can think of, at the moment.

Wow, there really are no pure stealth games. Well, we're screwed, then. :(

Well, what about 'Sleeping Dogs'? It may have a few stealth sections in it. Oh crap, there really is nothing.

When I first came into contact with Vergil in DMC 3, I thought he was the worst a**shole, jerk, insensitive, moron, a**wipe of a character that I had ever came to know :D but he ended up being one of my favorite characters of the series; he grew on me in a sense that he had this burden to carry (mom's death, dad's abandonement (BTW, where is Sparda? Dead, MIA...seems like Capcom sometimes switch back and forth on this) the guilt he had, not letting anyone get close in fear that they might slip away from him) and...I kinda formed a respect for him and let him off the hook, somewhat.

This Vergil...:ermm:
I had to keep telling myself that it's in another universe and this is not the same dude(????), but it's sometimes hard to accept change when the original characters have been ingrained into my brain for sooooooooo long.

Who knows, I may end up loving the dude or just downright dismissing him. This will be determined after I see more or after the game comes out.

All though I am getting tired of this wait and see stuff. :|

Im also waiting for new stuff.

Well FB DmC page posted not to early :

DmC gameplay demo from gamescom 2012tomorrow at 4:00pm.

I like this new Vergil, some are saying he's to soft but I think it's all an act.
At the end of the trailer he tells Dante they have to trust each other without hesitation which could mean he doesn't want Dante questioning his motives but why???
cause he's evil!!!!

dun dun dun
...
or he says that because Dante's new to this whole brotherly love-team work thing
