Mercer is a badass enough character, but as you say, there's nothing that you can really...I dunno, relate to with him, he's just a cold, stock character who really fails to evoke any sort of sympathy, I can honestly say I cared about Yuffie more than I care about Mercer, and I hated Yuffie.
See, that sounds like a decent premise for a game, your character background works, it gives the players something more interesting to take a hold of, makes them feel linked to the character in some way, I find games to be a form of art, emotional art at that, I need to either be able to have some kind of link with the main character, or be able to project some element of myself upon him, if I have nothing in common with the character, or if there's nothing likeable about him other than sheer overkill power, then it's not worth my time.
Perhaps we should do a gaming podcast, that'd be a laugh. :lol:
