Something I am curious about is, didn't either Shankar or JYB say that there was a reason why Dante was recast and that it would be revealed?

I am wondering if now that all the episodes are out, are we any closer to understanding what that was?

I remember how I joked about DmC Sparda being a "whip-ass bondage slave" due to his depiction of being chained but now Dante is the "whip-ass bondage boy" in the Netflix anime.
Are they appealing to some fantasy, having him in high-tech handcuffs for so long?

Ya that makes no sense, considering how strong the games and lore have depicted him to be.

He should have snapped out of those immediately.
also on the plane, his face took way too long to heal considering how op their healing factor is

Okay, first the handcuffs, then Dante gets invited into an in-flight bondage party.

I ask again, are they appealing to some fantasy with all this?
Two Dante bondage episodes in a row?

DMC now stands for "Dante Masochist Convention".

Sounds like marketing bait to me to keep people watching the show instead of noping out immediately at the sound of JYB's voice coming out of Dante's mouth.

Maybe it wasn't intended to be a reference but to me, Dante's "partial Devil Trigger" reminds me of the DmC Devil Trigger, as well as how Devil Trigger worked in DMC1.
