Lol i didn't really use GS that much with e&I, glad they kept twosome time

And I used it for finishers , get enemies close to death then finish em all in a circle around you with twosome time

These new button commands are weird though , my own fault for assuming it would be identical to 4 controls wise

I'm the opposite, I love his new sword

Also since he combined his own power with that of sparda , he surely has to be at least twice as powerful as sparda now canonically

I still can't believe Rebellion and Sparda are gone forever. I don't think I really like Dante's new sword...
Yeah I don't like it either, I like move and sword master sword a la vergil but not the design, I liked rebellion more

What I'm not a fan of is how Rebellion and Sparda have such a watered down moveset and that trying to equip them after getting DSD gives you way less options. Also, don't care for DSD's Swordmaster moves being changed to summoned swords which are pretty useless. :grumpy:

Actually summoned sword kill all dante bosses pretty quick in dante must die and I dint get a hit thanks to the summoned sword and get s rank, so they are pretty useful

Design-wise, Yamato and Red Queen are my favourite weapons. What I would like to see next is a classic European longsword - not a greatsword, no skulls and whistles, just simple and elegant longsword design.

Something like this:

Beautiful, elegant and functional.

Personally, I always considered Rebellion kinda ugly, but whatever that... thing Dante receives at the end makes it an example of beauty and elegance by comparison, while also losing to it on functionality part.

"Hold R1 to walk slowly" screwed me over with Artemis on DMD.
When she releases the two "options" that fire ripple beams at me, I have a hard time getting my gun to hit them or hit the one that is still active.
I could... "lock-on" to them so I can aim where I want, except that lock-on seems to prioritize the downed satellite or Artemis herself.
If I held down R1 to cycle through the targets, I'm a sitting duck.

On the other hand, Dante sword >>>>>> Rebellion + Sparda sword.
Being able to do aerial slashes without switching to Sword Master Style is not only convenient but lets me keep my Nero or DmC Dante muscle memory intact.
There's really no going back to Rebellion nor Sparda anymore.
"Toggle Sword Master to do aerial slashes" can f*** off.

Rebellion and Sparda have less moves, sure, but they do still have their place and their own advantages over DSD.

For starters, people coming from DMC4 can keep their Dante muscle memory (I've adapted to both so I'm whatever).
But more importantly, those swords can access Prop with a single button press (with DSD it's part of a pause combo after 2 hits), and that move is extremely useful to launch resistant enemies like say, Riot or the lizards with armor.
Their Round Trip seems to have more staggering power than DSD's.
And Sparda has the widest range of the bunch.

Also, don't care for DSD's Swordmaster moves being changed to summoned swords which are pretty useless. :grumpy:

Oh boy, such blasphemy. XD

Those swords are all EXCEPT useless. The simpler benefit you get is double damage on all your moves cause you can press Y and B simultaneously. But aside from that, because it's those swords doing the Round Trip rather than DSD itself, you can still use DSD's moves while keeping damaging the enemy with RT, or just leave him staggered to focus someone else.
Also, you can juggle demons with them and you get such awesome setups because of that, similarly to how Nero can set enemies up with Color Up as he's descending with, say, Split or something.

V's gameplay suffers so much from that "Press R1 to walk slowly" flaw.

I instinctively release lock-on to run and then re-establish lock-on, only to focus on the wrong enemy and keep cycling through them, which is bad when you're under attack.

I can't focus on three things at a time, so I tend to get into situations where I just don't see the enemy attacking.

Why do Japanese developers have to be so damn "unique"?
I mean, keep the themes and style unique, not the controls.
That's what I hate about his controls. When I fight with V: I hold R1 to keep lock on the enemies, and I button mash both characters (Griffon, and Shadow). When I want to regain the Devil trigger, I press L1 or whatever button, but then when i want to finish off a enemy, I press Circle. I already am using all buttons. F@^&ing A'.

Hence why I find V's controls boring.

Useless? Dude, you can use them while performing combos for extra damage

The summoned swords work in all four styles , they can auto attack , defend you , and be used to do so much

Plus in devil trigger the sword itself is boosted by them attacking with It outside of u pressing the style button

Aesthetics wise I love the look of dsd

Plus you can use all 7 weapon slots for Dante and put rebellion dsd and sparda beside each other

You know what's funny? After unlocking Irregular Full Custom I ended up using neither of those swords. LOL

I use Balrog, Cerberus and Cavaliere. Reason for that is I love using Stinger as a Trickster-less engage, but I always have to cancel it into Million Stab into something else cause otherwise it knocks enemies 5 thousand feet away. But those three weapons all have lunging moves that have no knockback effect so I ended up preferring them. I could squeeze a sword in there but I really don't wanna equip more than 3 weapons at a time.
The only drawback for me is not having Round Trip but I can leave with that.

You can cancel million stabs with a taunt , or with a gunshot tap with e&I and cancel that back into million stabs again or something else

But ya the way it sends enemies back can be annoying

Gun stinger is so much fun to use to close that distance though

That's what I like about DmC's Helm Breaker.
You simply slam down on an enemy and they're flattened against the ground.

Split or Helm Breaker in DMC4 & DMCV will blast the enemy away.

You can use the Bringer Fist from keeping enemies from flying away. It works on all of Red Queen's attacks.

On a side note I discovered a few hidden V tech that makes him a bit more fun to use.

1. When delivering the killing blow on a Behemoth you can control the Behemoth during the kill animation and making it toss and turn and can use this to inflict damage on nearby enemies.
2. Pressing the jump button during a Killing Blow animation ends it early but still kills the enemy.
3. Double Tapping the DT button to summon Nightmare will make him come out shoot a laser beam and return back. Costs 1 DT bar.
4. V's cane attack can parry some attacks from enemies like the Angelos, Riots, Furies, etc.
5. Royal Fork can be used to counter some bosses rush attacks like Artemis flying dive bomb.
