The Pear thing on DA is sort of weirding me out.

I just...where the hell did this even come from? :cautious:

Edit: *Sees that the artist who started it did so back in 2006, no doubt never imagining it would become a thing*. Erm...how come I've never noticed this in the last five years I've been on that site? Interesting surrealism explosion, though.

Same happened to me, I looked dA hours ago and I had no idea about the pear thingy. Incredible how a drawing from 2006 can make such a huge impact.

I keep finding out that a lot of Capcom "common knowledge" circulated around gaming forums turned out to be misconceptions, when you actually look into it.

For example, there was a time when the internet went stupid with the announcement that Capcom "has $152 million left in the bank".
That didn't happen.
The "$152 million" was actually Capcom's Net Cash total, which is very different than "money left in bank".
The whole nonsense started with one particular news article written by someone who didn't know how to read or understand Capcom's financial report.

And there's that news where Capcom announces that they plan to attract Call Of Duty fans with Resident Evil 6.
Again, that also never happened.
The whole "attract CoD fans with this Resident Evil" line from Dave Turner was actually referring to Operation Raccoon City.
Some news sites stupidly mix the quotes up, so you may find that quote randomly pasted in an article about RE6, without any context, causing confusion.
To think that people believed in this for more than 4 years.

I feel like compiling all my findings and post them somewhere but I dunno if it should be as a thread or a journal post.

Holy crap these new sleep pills are gigantic. And the bottle says I have to take two every night? o_O I'm not sure if I can even fit them in my muzzle, let alone swallow them. You know that part in Spongebob? "Oh, barnacles, I hate the pill." Yeah that one? It's like that but with two.

I feel like Ninja Theory may have peaked a bit too early by giving Dante full white hair at the end of DmC. It would have been interesting to have a duality motif by making only half his hair go white, representing the struggle between light and dark in his heart through monochrome.

The idea came from me reading My Hero Academia recently and the character Todoroki similarly has such conflict and hairstyle. (Currently my avatar btw.)

Of course, all this is pointless conjecture if Ninja Theory never get to make a DmC2 anyway.

Ah love those days when i play an intense game and blog about it. Currently i am playing Resident evil 0 HD and its keeping me occupied. I jus beat the centipede no damage taken and i am happy that i did something productive today than to waste hours of gaming and not be able to save the game.Ah i feel so happy in a long time.

Know what's cool? When it's dark, and you have two fleecy blankets in bed because it's ridiculously cold, and you can actually see the sparks jump between them from the static cling when you shift.

Not even kidding.

I guess the enter-key method is the way to go. o_O As long as the font is consistent, the spacing will be, too.

But frigging hell, you'd think they'd install a tool in Word that allows you to put chapter headers in just the right spot. >.>

++So, so tired today. Thankfully there isn't much work to be done around here.

Contacts are cool and all and I definitely prefer them over glasses, but the eye pain it can cause can be real bad sometimes. Fortunately we live in the future, so who knows, maybe in a few years we'll have contacts without any cons to them.
Never thought to laser surgery? Or is it too dangerous?

You know how a lot of people blame Resident Evil's gameplay shift to RE4 on the idea that REmake on the GameCube sold so low?

I actually looked into financial reports from 2002 and it was actually described as selling well.

Capcom is fully aware that releasing REmake exclusively on the GameCube might not sell that much, which shows in their lowered sales expectations for the game.
And REmake actually exceeded these sales expectations.

Their goal for sales in US was 250,000 copies but it sold 490,000.
Their goal for sales in Europe was 180,000 copies but they got 360,000 instead.

Source (archived).

The misconception that "REmake failed" seems to come from that one 2013 interview with Shinji Mikami where he described REmake's sales as a "commercial failure", which may actually be more of a personal opinion, rather than an official statement.

So, you can't really blame the design shift in RE4 on REmake's supposed "failure" if Capcom never saw it as a commercial failure to begin....
