She and Fang were my favorites in FF13. I really hope FF13-2 won't destroy the image I have for her.
Edit: Oh, and you're absolutely right there choco - can I call you choco? - many NEW stuff are ALWAYS different, but they don't need to be BAD. It's all a matter of perspective..

Your post made me think... my God, I have been calling him Choco without even asking is it okay...! (Is it okay...?).
And I also agree with it that if something is different it doesn't mean it's bad. It really is the matter of taste and all that.

and im wondering whether or not it would have been easier to accomplish all they wanted by just making a new ip?

For Capcom I'd say it was hard to follow. And while a new IP would probably be easier it wouldn't have gotten the explosive reaction DmC did. All the hate for the game is just fee publicity for people who don't know/care about DMC to see what the fuss is about. And because they don't care about the original series they may very well like the new DmC.
The annoying this is, that if they only go with this new DmC from now on, the old series remains kinda unfinished. I mean, only DMC & DMC3 have a definite Beginning and Ending. The others continually leave hints here and there for characters and other stuff but no information. Also, the Sparda game that every DMC fan wants to play will probably never be created<_<
I'm not exactly AGAINST the DmC, I'm against of it completely replacing the old one.
