your loss vergilius, seriously your loss, like what are you going to tell your children later in life? that you're not watching BvS? that's just crazy..

as someone who didn't like the suicide squad on arrow...or...y'know, arrow in general, i'm looking forward to the suicide squad movie. plus, it looks like it's heavily inspired by the adam glass suicide squad run which was my introduction to the team so i'm excited for that.

batman v superman...while i understand people's hesitation, cynicism, and preemptive hatred...i'm still looking forward to it. i really enjoyed man of steel, and i can't wait to see what happens next. i'm also glad that we're finally seeing "comic book" batman on screen for the first time. and "earth one" superman (who's my favorite superman) on screen for the second time. it looks a lot like a comic book come to life, and i'm sure with terrio, affleck, and geoff johns's (who's one of my favorite superman writers btw) finger prints on the script, the story will be awesome.

Here's another reason:

http://www.gamesradar.com/morgan-freeman-doesnt-think-ben-afflecks-batman-can-beat-batman-begins/

i think it's gonna be apples and oranges (bale and affleck). batman from the nolan films is a lot like batman from batman: year one/long halloween/dark victory etc. very frank miller inspired, and very young. affleck's batman, based on promotional material and what we've been told of him is very much the more recent (past 10 or so years) batman i.e. scott snyder's batman, geoff johns batman earth one (but...20 years older), grant morrison JLA etc.

two very different interpretations. i guess it's up to taste

imo ben affleck can beat the batman part.. batman begins was one awesome origin story and story-telling, it was my fave among the trilogy and bruce wayne was portrayed nicely there, and that part is where i think affleck can't beat for the reason it won't be an origin story and the fact that it's not a batman movie, but i can be wrong ofc..

but the batman part, i kinda dislike nolan's batman for that, too little screen-time and none of them in the trilogy gave a --how to say this, a clear whole batman on the screen, it was always shown vague there --a wee bit exception for TDKR..

and affleck's batman, just from the trailer i can see the batman clearly like oh yes, there's the batman

Funny thing is I think im the opposite compared to you since Flash season 2 is not as good as season 1. Arrow is a good show but you have to except that it can be a batman fanfic at times. Legends is ok but clunky, not necessarily worth watching week to week. Supergirl I'll have a better view once I catch up but it wasn't grabbing me when it came out.

None of the recent new 52 animated movies caught my eye. Granted the Gods and Monsters movie is pretty awesome but it's not apart of the new 52 soo....

Different strokes for different blokes ayy @Vergilius

I still don't get why this is a thread. I'm not going to go see Deadpool, I have zero interest in it and no one's going to talk me in to it, but so what? If someone doesn't want to go see a movie it's their choice. What right does anyone else here have to tell them otherwise? Not like we pay their bills or that they owe us something that gives us the right to dictate to them how they spend their time and money. If you don't want to go watch it, OK, good for you, not sure what response ya'll were expecting.

I honestly wasn't excited by Batman Begins, or The Dark Knight, I was more excited by The Dark Knight Rises.

But that's because the story starts off slow (although understandable), and then there's plot holes in some parts of the films. This seems to be a DC Comics thing, than anything. Marvel's films has bridged the entire Marvel Universe in a way that bridges the gap from one film to the other. For example, in Captain America's second film, Agents of Shield has a part in it that bridges the gap between THAT film and the TV show. Then at the end of a film, it goes from one Marvel film to the next.

DC Comics tells the [film] writers to write within the universe the film is in, and that restricts the writing so much. That's why the TV scripts are better, because they have more room to work with. The new Gotham TV show for another example - they have a lot of room to work with because they're not really a part of the whole Batman main storyline, more like canon. It gives you an idea of how Batman's villains came to be. The same can be said for the Arkham games.

Now, with regards to Superman vs Batman. The fact is that the writer/director behind the film are the same guys who did the Superman reboot (hence the actor playing Superman and the graphic style), however the script for the film will be different from the comics - they even removed the R-rated scenes from the final theatrical release.

Not only that, the script usually deviates from the actual comics storyline. I liked the Superman reboot visually, like the 3D illustrations in the scenes, but the story feels like it was changed for your entertainmet. I'm guessing this is where the OP is trying to go with the thread.

Yea why not.
I mean there's threads asking why people are hyped & drooling over something, so why not a thread asking why aren't some hyped & not drooling over something right.
As long as it remains reasonable & not belittling differences views why not give equal opportunity for those not interested to fully share why not.
It's not that people can't make a thread saying why there aren't interested. People were confused by this thread because Vergilius wasn't giving people much to work with. But as a nice conversation was able to develop from this thread, I say all is well.

I, for one, am skeptical of BvS. I never saw Man of Steel and don't really want to. As I'm getting tired of the MCU, I don't really want to hop into another cinematic universe. I'll watch BvS if the critics and fans alike shower the movie with praise. If it gets anything below "masterpiece," I'm not bothering.

Well, aren't we demanding. Be honest, though, would you have given the such a ultimatum to a Marvel movie back in the day, to watch something like Avengers, for example? Masterpiece or don't waist my time?

A lot of people were, in the Avengers' case.

Besides, even if they hadn't, DC needs to be as good as their animated flicks -- if they're not, then most people out there would just stick with that.

If DC had been so sure of their film they wouldn't have changed their schedule to release at an earlier date -- originally, they had planned to launch alongside Civil War.

suicide squad and BvS would've been too close to one another if they released it on may. i don't think it would've been wise to release it on that day regardless.

also, they're animated movies are god awful trash right now. the last one, batman: bad blood...almost killed my soul. still not as bad as JL war and JL throne of atlantis. but still pretty bad. if anything, i'd say that man of steel alone dwarfs anything they've been pumping out animation wise for the past few years

No... come on. I loved those movies.

You may disagree, but I'm siding with those.

that's fair. i'm not gonna sit here and tell you you can or can't like something...i mean, i CAN, but i don't think i'm that much of a d-bag. nor do i think you'd care or listen lol (nor should you...or anyone for that matter).

but i personally didn't like them.

Well of course not because back when super hero movies were new, it was exciting. I'm really really tired of super hero movies and shows, so I don't think it's unfair for me to pick and choose which ones I watch instead of feeling like I need to see every single one. I love Captain America, so I'm going to see Civil War just for that, but I'm not that interested in any other super hero movie. If BvS gets fantastic reviews, then I'll go see it, but if it's just okay or even "good" then I'm hesitant because I don't want to see so many super hero movies that I get burned out. So I'll pick and choose. I don't see how that is being demanding.

@VampireWicked um...the DCeU has about as much in common with the comics as the MCU does. certain characters are radically altered, histories are changed to fit the mold of a cinematic style, and the timelines are unique to their universe. also, you're asking a lot of questions that either don't merit answers, or have answers, but are so minuscule to the plot they've been thrown in the viral marketing.

BATMAN v SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE
1. Why Kid Luthor, what happen to Lex Luthor?
Why introduce the ManOfSteel to Kid Luthor 1st before well establishing Lex Luthor.

i dunno. because they didn't wanna make him an old white bald guy? that's a decision made for the movie. just like plenty of other comic book movies, this one has altered a characters background. and i guess i'll have to see why and how it plays out in the story when i watch the movie

Suicide Squad
1. Okay i haven't read any DC Comics in awhile & i've missed so much history, so where do these movies pickup from?
2. Suicide Squad's Joker, okay in the comics is he the same ?
3. I was told Joker got his face torn off or something in the comics, would that be before or after Marilyn Manson Joker or a different DC Comics universe ?

again, different universe. asking why joker in the comics and the movies are different is like asking why in the comics tony's been sober for the past decade, but in the movies he downs liquor like a bottle himself. also, david ayer and zack snyder have confirmed that SS takes place after man of steel, but haven't told us if it takes place before or after BvS. again, i have to see the movie first in order to know the timeline, just like i did with marvel, and just like i did with fox
