Before I begin, I'd just like to say that I know that these films will most likely be enjoyable, and it'll be my loss if I don't watch them.

However, I can't ignore the fact that they could've done better. After watching shows like Arrow and Flash, I can see that live-action superheros (that aren't Marvel-based) can compete with the rest of them.

There's also the issue of the animated movies. Aside from Slade, they're all done really well and I can't help but wonder why the cinematic live-action version can't be just as good as they are with the previously mentioned films.

It's all a question of aesthetics, maybe. What can be done on pen and paper just can't be done exactly the same way on celluloid.

Ok, this phrase implies that you have seen the movie and therefore have a clear term of comparison. Now, that is obviously not possible as of now, so I don't get that sentence.

Also, if the idea you've formed out of all the marketing and trailers etc is that the movies will be enjoyable for you, and considering that there is the possibility that they could be more than that, starting from this premise I do think it doesn't make much sense to decide not to watch them. You yourself said that it would most likely be your loss.

No, wait, I'm lost. First you say you think they'll be enjoyable and it'll be your loss. Then you say you didn't like what you saw of them.

???

I'm not trying to make you change your mind, just trying to understand your reasoning.

I didn't like that they only looked enjoyable. "Good enough" is fun, but it's not what I want.

What I wanted was the same thing I got from their animated films.

You're not being very fair here. Saying you're not going to watch a movie because it looks good but not great sounds like you're cheating yourself out of good movies. I can understand being hesitant now, as a lot of people are, but if the movies got glorious reviews from critics and fans, would you reconsider? At least watch them once they both hit Redox or something?

Did this really need it's own thread? I get that you want to make it known that you're doing this but why couldn't you just say all this on the BvS thread? I'm not going to close it or anything, not unless the conversation gets heated, but was it's own thread just for this really needed?

I'm not going see Batman Featuring Superman:Rush to the Justice League because it looks and sounds like a clusterf*** train wreck of a film.

Suicide Squad though, I might give it a chance because the second trailer actually made it look like some fun. Still, the Joker looks so stupid being basically an albino Lil Wayne.

I really don't like how this is the kind of DC cinematic universe we're stuck with.

^ I agree 100%.

I really wish that they would've taken more time to develop the DCCU before doing something like this, but alas this is what we have to put up with for the time being.

I probably will give Suicide Squad a chance as well because it looks like it'll be fun, but I do agree that the Joker looks really bad.

I'm not going to see batman vs superman because 1. i've kinda lost my faith in dc films atm, as has been said they keep trying to smash together a universe like marvels created without spending any time building it gradually(they are introducing a new batman and wonderwoman in this film.)
And because unless this is a 4 hours epic the trailers have pretty much told us the entire story, seriously I have'nt even been looking for trailers and every single one i see is usually a very long trailer that has all new stuff in it, and a lot that'd be considered spoilers.

If I can give it some credit though I do like how they've turned the criticism of supes destroying that city into a plot point here, usually in these blockbuster movies, citywide destruction is ignored or swept under the rug. here? they took it and turned it into a good character building concept.

Suicide squad..eh could be good, i'm defineitly not gonna bash the new joker until i've seen it, the hatred towards him is really funny when you remember Heath's joker had the same controversy at first.

Dude. It's not hard to censor your posts.

If no one could tell by my icon and signature, I'll definitely be watching all the superhero movies coming out, including Batman v Superman.

I can understand why some won't watch it for their own specific reasons, but I really don't care about whether or not it's extremely conjoined to the hip to the comics or not. Hell, I don't care if DC is rushing the introduction of a Justice League movie. Contrary to popular belief, it really isn't that difficult to come up with an entire universe when there's no previous movies to establish it. Avengers started with Iron Man, and went on from there with more and more movies to be brought up. Most movie goers who've never read a single Iron Man or Captian America comic, probably didn't even hear of Iron man until his first movie. I certainly didn't. Thor, Captian America, Iron man, were pretty much on the B list until their movies and needed to have individual movies to show a non-comic reading audience who they were before putting them in the Avengers.
With DC, everyone knows who Superman was LONG before Man of Steel. Batman is pretty much a household name way before the Nolan films. There'd be not much of a point in making seperate movies for Batman before BvS since we know enough of him to figure out why he's Batman and what his motivations are. What some movie goers won't know is about Robin and Joker killing Jason Todd. Wonder Woman is a feminist icon. Everyone knows full well who she is even before BvS. Plus, she's gonna get her own movie next year before Justice League so that we know more on where the Trinity is coming from in this story, and not in terms of origins. There will be scenes of Aquaman, Cyborg, and the Flash to hint at them in BvS to wet non-comic reader's whistles, with most people probably knowing Flash from the popular TV series and Cyborg from Teen Titans. Aquaman will be the next character to explore in his own movie after the Justice League, much like that apparent Black Widow, Hawkeye, and Black Panther and Spiderman movies that will go into who they are after Civil War, which is the BvS in introducing these characters before they got their own movies first. The only movie that has started the whole thing of this official DCCU is Man of Steel. From there, you go into this new universe of Batman because Christopher Nolan's Batman is too grounded in realism to fit into MoS's world of aliens and flying. So you make a new Batman with a consecutive team who will be building that Batman world on the side, while making BvS. A team responsible for Batman's world, a team for Wonder Woman's world, a team for Green Lantern, Flash, Suicide Squad, etc. Then you bring a few ideas from each perspective and put it into the Justice League movie.

I probably have no right to say this, but as a fanfiction righter, and an aspiring writer in general, it'll probably only take me a day to come up with multiple outcomes and multiple universal concepts for a world of a well-established character; especially Batman and Superman, whose stories haven't changed all that much since they were created.

But like I said; So what if it's a rushed project to start the Justice League movie universe, or if it's going at it a different way/copying Marvel.

As long as the movies are entertaining, they have great moments, Batman's a badass, and I'm sitting in the movie theater munching on popcorn while getting the biggest geek boner at not only seeing my two favorite heroes fighting each other, but to see other awesome superhero movies that will take me all the way to 2020,

You were so spot on.

Heck, even XMen didn't make individual movies, and still doesn't. It's not the first time a team up movie is about to come.out (referring to Justice League) without having a movie for every individual member.

So that "they're rushing it out" argument doesn't hold that much ground to me.

The X-Men is known from inception as a team of superheroes. It's not really the same as the Avengers or Justice League.

Thing is, they're not only introducing Batman, but Wonder Woman, Lex Luthor, Aquaman, Cyborg, Doomsday, and Flash with Justice League coming out NEXT YEAR. Yes, they are rushing to gather up as many heroes as they can just so they can have a cohesive film universe like Marvel as quickly as possible. It also still feels wrong to have a Justice League without Martian Manhunter.

Yeah ok, Batman, Wonder Woman, Lex Luthor, Flash and maybe even Doomsday are super well known already.

Marvel did the same thing, introducing members of the Avengers in other heroes' movies without giving them a dedicated flick, like Black Widow and Hawkeye.

I stand by what I said, you don't necessarily need a movie for every single character to make a team up film work.

Am I the only one who believes that the time for a Black Widow movie has passed?
I'd loved to have seen it, but I've seen Black Widow in 4 movies already and she's going to appear in her 5th one this year, so I've seen enough of her to the point that she's just not that interesting anymore, could also be that she's just the standard Super Spy type that I've seen a million times already, but I'd rather a new female hero come along like Captain Marvel or such.

Wonder Woman is getting her own movie which looks interesting and I'm looking forward to seeing it, cause it's something I haven't seen, not just because it features a female lead but because it's set during World War 1 and I haven't seen that many WW1 movies that haven't bored me to death by the halfway mark, it just might recapture what Captain America did and feel like a video game.
Cap 1 & 2 to me basically feels like Captain America switched places with B.J. Blazkowicz in a PG 13 version of Wolfenstein The New Order.

As for BvS, I'm gonna see it because it looks like the movie is gonna be entertaining and I wanna see Affleck as Batman, I'm going to see Suicide Squad no matter what because Harley Quinn.
