I agree that they could've actually given Vergil some effort. All his moves were just boss moves, and the only new thing they programmed was Nelo Angelo's moveset. Besides, his opening cinematics made it seem like he was going to revive the Temi-Ni-Gru, not go training like the game feels like. Also, would it KILL Crapcom to put in some new styles for Vergil? Dark Slayer sounds cool, but in essence it's just Trickster with a tacked-on name. Actually, Vergil seems tacked-on period.

Vergil's game was a cheap shot at a 'scenario' for him. Only 2 cutscenes, no additional/alternate missions and 'Vante'...?

But better than nothing, I guess.

Just picked up the PC version for £3 on Amazon. No complaints from me. 8D (...HD TV makes my PS2 copy look horrible/eye rape now).

I'll admit just being able to play as Vergil/Nelo Angelo made me buy 3 copies since it came out.

3 COPIES!!! (I must admit I have got all console versions of Souls calibur 2 and Blood omen 2)
I've gotta buy a new computer to play it... the one i'm on would be too old and expensive to update...
I LOVE playing as VERGIL!!!!

I've bought the PC version twice, yeah... problems with my old hamster-powered computer. Now I've got a nice shiny new one that should be able to handle it...

I'm rusty with Vergil though. It's been over a year since I played SE properly. The shame.

You know the sad thing... I only have Dante's Awakening... NEVER played Special Edition so I've neva experienced the awesomness of Vergil!!!

It isin't that special really. It's just like a bonus character for fun if you get bored of playing with Dante. Although you can still pull of great combo's with him easily

Although Nero's bag of moves were extremely limited I actually enjoyed playing as him so much more. Maybe it was because his new style was a nice fresh change (plus I loved the way his sword attacks looked). I would much rather see loads more moves added to Nero than have just another layer added to what I have already been doing for years with Dante.

I'm going to agree with this, I got to the point I played Vergil so much Bloody Palace was easy for me lol.

Well, the only reason why i like dante is because hes fun. I dont really like to play as him, but i like that he can change styles. And his guns, but other then that, nothing else. I like the clips in the movie when Dante fools around!
I love to play as Nero, cause of his arm! And its something new. I really hope that in dmc5 they can do more to Nero. More moves or something. And hope something special to his arm as well!

But why Dante is so important, i got no idea. Maybe hes the ''skeleton'' of the game or something.

Well, the reason Dante might matter so much to DMC fans (mostly all of them) is because of his stylish attitude and amazing good looks! Not to mention his fighting skills!!! I'm not sure about nero. People are probably afraid that nero will replace dante. I know I was! But if DMC5 comes out, I dont think theu should focus on nero. I mean, DMC4's plot was a little lame.

Exactly... Dante IS style. But now that I think about it... if I knew for certain that Nero wasn't going to surpass/replace Dante... I would probably accept his character a lot more and like him a lot more. As long as core DMC remains Dante and he continues to grow and demonstrate power and skill I will be fine with Nero. But if Nero were to surpass Dante in strength (in my eyes this simply wouldn't happen) I would be pretty upset with it. Otherwise, I wouldn't mind him at all. Maybe that is why a lot of Dante fans don't like Nero, they, like me, are threatened by him that he will replace Dante. Well put neubula, you helped me realised why I dont like Nero hehe :D

:lol::lol:
I know for certain Nero won't surpass Dante.
:O How dare ye make such blasphemy claims, ye say?
When has Capcom EVER carried a new cameo-character into the next game with a bigger role than their debut? Lady played a big part in DMC3, but we barely got to see her in DMC4. Trish played a really big role in DMC1, but her part in DMC4 was limited (if vital) in comparison. So, going by what Capcom does, Nero will likely be in the next game, but he won't play as big a role as he did in DMC4.

The Stars that were in the spotlight:
DMC1 - Dante/Trish, DMC2 - Lucia >_<, DMC3 - Vergil/Lady, DMC4 - Dante/Nero. I think Capcom owes us more Vergil and Dante - JUST Vergil and Dante. Save new cameos for another game, keep the ones already introduced to the fans - and bring back THE MAIN EVENT!!:D

Anyway...my hate for Nero goes deep. I don't think he can do anything to redeem himself in my eyes. LOL

I totally agree with this - More Vergil and Dante definatley - it would be intriguing, interesting, more to the point and hilarious! The others could be in there somewhere.... but like you said "bring back THE MAIN EVENT!!:D"

clairavance... i like you :D Trust me, it would be my nightmare that Nero would surpass Dante but you NEVER REALLY know with Capcom. I prey it won't happen :/

Well in terms of the order of games the "main event" has already been brought back and settled once and for all hasn't it?

Dante as a gameplay character can be customised for different styles and weaponery and is at gamer's discretion to abuse or use skills wisely. I am still figuring new combos with DMC 3's weapons and his combination of fire power and melee with a style is skillful strats.

Add to his "devil may care" attitude toward's bosses is entertaining. I would prefer dante to be main protagonist in all DMCs with new styles or gameplay and weaponery.
