I agree, some pro DmC fans can be just as aweful as those who are con fans, I just wish both sides would take a deep breath and respect eachothers opinions instead of attending a flamewar against one another. It's just too much to ask for, apparently.

He's a fictional video game character why're you taking it so personally ? its just FAKE ! not real person that's why he can be remade into a totally different looking character and still called by the same name "Dante" which is a cliché they should just completely differentiante them now "DanX" and on the other side the one and only "Dante"

They have like two games and those box art isn't attractive i'd buy bioshock or arkham city rather than those unattractive sucks

isn't that attractive for a Box art IMHO first one looks like a bioshock wannabe and second one just random sex symbol wannabe and its reviews are also pretty mixed so the main question rises WHY IN EARTH did capcom give DMC to this kind of ..................

they wanted DmC to be an average game from the very beginning now i am starting to feel like Cacpom made this so that they can destroy the existing fanbase and so that they can get a reason for abandoing DMC 5 project for 5 more years god bless Crapcom[NOT]

Well someone said that Capcom gave it to NT to attract the negative energy fans might build up towards Ninja theory. But they picked NT for their story skills. But all i have seen is them making their own story instead of repairing DMC. Not that i think they can repair DMC. It's already to late to be fixed. And Ninja theory is overrated because fans keep talking "They are great at story" yet the only option is to reboot a serie instead of repairing.

1: I was talking about my personal experiences, that sometimes I need to change something around me or about me for me to obtain what I want. For example, I have moved around alot and made certain changes about myself for personal gain, so I get most out of life the way I want it to be. However, if we look at it from a Devil May Cry point of view, Capcom needed to make some drastic changes to Devil May Cry and Dante for it to appeal to western gamers, like we've discussed in another thread. Or well, that's what Capcom thought was needed.

I would say it was around 80% gameplay and 20% story. But we never know if DMC 2 would had more depth to the story or not because Hideki left.
But Capcom treated DMC as gameplay game from DMC 2 to 4 with "half hearted" story.

Because they took an already existing character and changed that character into a NEW character that was made to appeal to a certain group of gamers, in this case, western gamers. So yes, you misunderstood what I wrote.

No, i don't think i misinterpreted that. Because if NT's Dante is a changed DMC Dante that is aimed to appeal at western gamers then it implies that in a sense that NT's Dante is Dante.

Oh yeah? You look at Ninja theory's Dante as "taking a exisiting character and making it into a new character", where as i take it as making a new character and adding DMC Dante stuff to it.

Look around you and realize not everyone has same way of thinking as you. And if you were a bit humble with clearing up the misunderstanding these arguments wouldn't happen.

well they did say they were making resident evil 6 "Dramatic Horror" to appeal to the call of duty fanbase. So it doesn't surprise me at all

I never claimed others see it the way I do. I expressed my opinion and explained to you how I see things. That you and others see it in a different way is only natural, we are all different people. I think Capcom uses the game title "Devil May Cry" and the character name "Dante", because people have already heard of those. Instead of making a whole unique title and character, they use already known names and an already known concept (demon hunter VS demons) to reel in more people and then calls it a reboot (amongst other things). I don't think Capcom WANTS to make a whole new unique game, but to actually use Devil May Cry and change it to attract more, new fans instead of pleasing the already established fanbase.
