Night of the Assassin.
A long, boring, poorly paced and low budget film. It's part of a subgenre I call meatgrinder kung fu. Back in the 1970's kung fu craze, a bunch of production companies would just grind out tons of these films just to meet the demand (particularly in Taiwan for some reason) which usually ment they signed on a certain number of actors for a set amount of films before moving on to a new batch.... which also means they need to use everyone they have... which means too many characters and no time to develop them.
Also, they really make sure to spend the least amount of money as possible. There's one scene in particular where tigers were attacking a camp, but they were painfully clear they were just costumes. On top of that, they slashed at one of the Tigers and the actor's face came out of the suit, plainly visible. But then they killed the other "tiger" and never mentioned whether or not we were supposed to believe they were real. I'm just so confused. Are they just soldiers in tiger disguise, or are they just that lazy?
